I really enjoy Sue Conrad's videos, a common sense approach to fitness explained in a manner easily understood. I've long since tired of the in-your-face type of instruction seemly so common these days.
Fist part kind of looks like you're emphasizing the triceps moreso than the chest. Also lower pecs as opposed to upper pecs which is generally where women should be focusing.... Second part much better...
Very good. You demonstrated this well and I can tell you used a band with heavy resistance, which is good. One of the best vids on this exercise with the band I've seen.
@JEWFISH1944 I know this is a really late response.. but have you considered resistance bands push ups (pushing up against the tension with the band wrapped around your back.. this might be the closest alternative
@birdman4birdlegs Thanks for that tip. I recall having seen that exercise somewhere, but for some reason I pushed it aside. Gonna give it a try. Several months ago I purchased the Bodylastics System, the heavy duty set. Really love it. Milne can be loaded to 200 pounds of resistance per handle. I''m one of those who never considered band resistance to be worthy. But Bodylastics has changed my mind.
You made this comment a long time ago but I have been using a device called the PowerPushup 3 by lifeline usa. It is a back padding that can use 8 resistant bands that can be adjusted in many ways. I find you can do standing chest press and it was so tough that I had to reduce the resistance. As you know the resistance is constant at the start and throughout the motion and I find it tougher than the benchpress with weights!
not really.. If you have super heavy bands and keep the reps between 6-8 reps, one will gain tons of MASS. BODYLASTIC BANDS are used by the NFL, MLB and by many PRO-BODYBUILDERS. They are PRO-bands. Its all about the RESISTANCE.
Ha, are you kidding me.. I own BODYLASTIC BANDS.. The resistance can be place between 5 and 230lbs of resistance by adding just 4-5 bands. They are Professional BANDS.. DO YOUR RESEARCH.. They are called BODYLASTIC and trust me they work. I keep the resistance between 6-10 for mass and my wife does 8-20 for toning. I'm a Personal Trainer and use them with clients. Now tell me, how do you feel that you've been proven wrong? Dont be so ignorant and do some research before you insult people.
@167harvey stressing your muscles builds muscle. it forces them to grow. how you stress them is irrelivant as long as the stress placed on your muscles is intense enough to cause them to grow. it could be from lifting weight, resistance bands, calisthenics, working a physical job like construction etc.
@FrodeFalch I used to be a low rep guy but I'm getting alot of gains on my current high rep program. Just started doing bands last week to finish off and burn. Can't dismiss the bands as they provide constent resistence with better form to really exhaust the muscles after a good workout...
@frankz00 : i know. they are great. But i would never give away the low reps explosive sessions because of that. A combination of high rep / low reps is the best IMO. And i kinda get my high rep training in my martial art. Like when i hit the pads. ect..
I use the fitness band when i work out at home and dont have time to go to the gym.. Or just as a variation to my normal training.
Thank you for this, instructor. I am always looking for alternate ways to do chest presses; sometimes I get tired of my Swiss/stability ball. Thank you!
thankx very much really needed to know how to use my bands (bought recently) for chest exercises!! plz post more....thnx again. how about how to perform leg exercises with a band?

I'm still trying to find a resistance band exercise that flexes the pectorals as effectively as bench presses perfomed with weights.

@Vik456 if ur WEAK enough to only to get 6-8 reps out of ANY of these resistance bands, then you are clearly a child.dont reply.
RESISTANCE BANDS ARE FOR FLEXIBILITY AND CUTTING
