Gazza was inured...nuff said. Also, the same media wanted Bobby Robson out in 1988 after the Euro championsip...and now he is feted as a genius after 1990.
same old story with the england team......players are overpaid, overrated, arrogant primadonnas who let us down time and time again......but its the manager people blame.....just look at the last 4 years....total rubbiash and 2006wc didnt get to euro2008 and 2010wc the less said the better.....but what is siad " we have best players in world its the manager.....total rubbish its the crap players
Graham Taylor was a good manager, he did a pretty good job at watford, he led Watford from the Fourth Division to the First Division in only five years, i don't really blame him entirely on england not qualifying for the world cup 94, he didn't have the best of england sides.
They are showing this again on ITV4 on Sunday at 11pm! So let's have those tape recorders on and get it on youtube for comments! "LES DEMAND IT!, LES, LES THEY CAN'T SEE YA!", "CARLTON!, We're Losing Our Shape! TONY!" Funny Stuff!
A bit of both. He had bad luck with sceduling, injuries and suspensions (Gascoigne was suspended for the crucial Rotterdam game) although he didn't help himself with some strange tactical selections. He was also unlucky that Koeman, who scored the free kick in the Holland qualifier, didn't get sent off in that game for a blatant red card. However, Taylor was out of his depth, although he didn't deserve the vitriol he got from the media & some fans (one spat in his face, after a game, apparently)
And we mustn´t forget that it was in fact a very hard group. Holland went to the quarterfinals and Norway under Egil Olsen have never been better. Had Gascoigne been fit it would have been different.
Possibly the most unintentionally funny programme ever made. Hugely unlucky though, was turnip. That Assenmacher guy who didn't send off Koeman was a disgrace.
venables the most overrated manager ever-theman who in this months 4-4-2 mag said reaching the euro 96 semi final was his greatest achievement-well if winnning 2 matches out of 5 was his biggest achievement it shows how shit he was
2 trophies in a 23 year managerial career-one with a team inherited from menotti & the other Gascoigne got spurs to wembley virtually on his own !!!

Too right mate,I couldn't believe some of the

At least England qualified for the european championships under Taylor, and back then there were only 8 teams in it!
