@jimmydee3993 Any media that spreads lies can easily be proved wrong! President Hugo Chavez has jailed a criminal court judge. Her transgression, critics of Chavez say, was straying too far from what the government wants.
Human-rights groups say the independent-minded judge, Maria Lourdes Afiuni, was jailed on trumped-up corruption charges after she allowed the release of a former banker who had once benefited from his ties to the government.
@joe035 The critics of Chavez are the ones who are liars. You believe that b.s. because you want to. The same kind of people say that Obama is a ruthless dictator, and compare him to Hitler. I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you in case you're interested.
@jimmydee3993 I just refernced you irrefutable facts of how he shut down TV & Radio broadcasts with views that oppose his own & you say I'm a liar. FYI Obama wants to force Americans to buy HC Insurance from his hmo corporate friends pay a fine or go to jail. He also attacked Liby without porovocation or Congressional approval which was an ILLEGAL & Tyranical act! You already bought the bridge dude, I'm just trying to keep you from buying another!
@joe035 When I said Chavez' critics are liars, I meant his Venezuelan critics in the media. They know the real truth but deliberately distort and manipulate. As for his American critics, it could just be a question of misinformation due to the media bias in this country. But after your last statement about Obama, I don't see any further need to converse with you, you have either been duped by the right-wingers or you may be purposely twisting the facts. In either case, let's end the conversation
@jimmydee3993 You can easily confirm EVERYTHING I claimed online! Obama did attack Libya without provocation & his healthcare bill dictates all americans must by Insurance from corporate HMO's!
According to MULTIPLE sources Chavez has shut down radio & TV stations that are in opposition of his policies & views. I suppose if you CANT DEFEND your claims with credible supportable references it would be better to end the conversation as you wasted our time with fantasy.
Well, Madison operated under the assumption that a representative elite class would have the best interest of the people foremost in mind. He was pretty much entirely wrong, but I think he was sincere in his reasoning.
The founders were a mixed bag, but just go back and read some of what they said. There's all sorts of hostility and racism in the historical record.
since when did you all decide the majority can consent for individuals to be governed? did aliens or demons come into your minds at some particular time, and change the meaning of "the consent of the governed"...when did the foolish idea that a majority can speak for individuals? how long will you defend your evil democracy?
The series 'V' is a fictional TV show that explains (revelation of method) what is really going on with the evil UFO creatures (real spirit Lucifer & spirit demon gods) on this earth. The John Carpenter documentary movie called 'THEY LIVE' explained this fact about the UFO creatures 25 years ago, but most people care more about the foolish religion of sports than truth, freedom or saving their own lives! I have evidence.
The founding fathers? They were not MY founding fathers because they keep my ancestors in slavery. Those founding fathers thought blacks were 3/5ths of a person in regards to taxation and representation. As a matter of fact blacks were not considered humans, so fuck Thomas Jefferson, James Madison. George Washington!
"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen..." -George Washington, Treaty of Tripoli, article 11. 1797 A.D.
Tom Hartmann either is lying or has never read the U.S. Constitution. Tom says America is a Democracy. America is not a Democracy! Article 4 section 4 of the U.S. Constitution says America is a Constitutional Republic! Democracies lead to dictatorships! Please research this fact. The evil ILLUMINATI / FREEMASON politicians in Washington D.C. (District of Criminals) want a world wide democracy dictatorship with their leader from Rome.

It was REAGAN who told the Christians that it was OK to hate and be greedy. Reagan spent all the money there was on WAR and WAR preparations and cut the money for PEOPLE which is completely OPPOSITE of what Jesus said and OPPOSITE of the that Constitution was intended to do. Reagan subverted the Constitution and help pagan seances in the White House.
Ywan, another self loathing American hating racist commie.
The profit motive, or GREED if you want to call it that, has fed, housed, doctored, educated and given more people the hope of self determination and freedom than your worn out bankrupt communist philosophy has ever lied about. I hope you are not passing moral judgment here because there is no morality in communism.
Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Democrats don't cut taxes, opposed democracy right after war, opposed military industrial complex profit, are the top 4 killers in world history. No religion killed more.
@goodatbasebal. What's wrong with U? Aristocrats wanted representative democacy where they could fool the majority into believing a republic gave them a say in governance. In practice republicans vote to protect their corporateAssets with lieing vengeance, So Thomas Jefferson started the DemocraticRepublican party. You make an assumption that U know more than I & that my premise is worng. Likewise, the GOP cannot exist without fooling Libertarians to defend them. Research CORPORATISM!
@rwcbanzai First of all Libertarians never defend Republicans. They constantly point out corporatist s & hate the status quo.
Second of all if you actually read the real Jefferson writing's you would know that He hardly mentions the words Democrat/Democracy .The readings which you seem to cite have all been "revised" to have these words in them. Monticello version is his real works.
Also it seems that you have also adopted the notion that Jefferson Was a Democrat... You can thank revisionism...
Well the constitution is a libertarian document and the founding fathers all agreed this was the best form of Gov.Freedom for all."Give me liberty or give me death".
We have their wisdom and the constitution we just have to get back to following it.
@xxDogsoldierxx libertains believe in a private sector government. That is not we the people. Constitution is not a libertarian document. Where do you get off saying you are smarter than a rogressive talkshow host who has A+ knowledge in American History.
@captcrais101 What do you think liberty is?Or freedom?I've read the constitution. It is in fact a libertaran document. It doesnt matter what each of the founding fathers believed or said. They all agreed on the constitution that this was the best way for men to be free.
@xxDogsoldierxx first learn to spell l-i-b-e-r-t-a-r-i-a-n. Second all they want to do is privatize government so no libertarian is not liberty. Liberal is.
@xxDogsoldierxx liberals don't want government to control everything. We want a people's government not a government that takes over the private secotr but we CERTIANLY DO NOT WANT THE GREEDY PRIVATE SECTOR TAKING OVER GOVERNMENT!!! WALLSTREET IS NOT GOVERNMENT!! WE THE PEOPLE ARE GOVERNMENT!!
What he's saying is true...BUT...Hartmann is NOT a believer in free markets. Hartmann's belief system is the very one that ends up benefiting the very rich...who can always get ahold of government power to benefit themselves IF, IF, IF the government is BIG government. Small government benefits the poor.
@jscottupton "small government benefits the poor." hahahahahaha big LOL since when. If this is so why is it always the super wealthy asking for a small government? Because so called small government benefits the Wealthy. Not the poor.
God is beginning to send into the public forum men and women who have knowledge and integrity. With knowledge, the American people will always choose the right and decent thing for all. If we can return to egalitarianism--which is how all thinks run smoothly, because all things run most smoothly when in balance--we can feel America come alive and vibrant again. Care for one another again. God give us speed.
@guyjohn59 The man has read and studied...something it would do American much good if more Americans did. If they read about their own country, its social ad economic history, rather than have it interpreted for them by people with agendas.
Some talking heads still don't get it. The Founders wanted to escape the tyranny of the English banking system. The Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and the coercion of Woodrow Wilson were all designed to bring America under the tyranny of the privately owned Federal Reserve system.
@viletree hey joe, how are you, i remember this i just forgot how depressing it was, i'm thinking inequality is getting worse, are you feeling that way or is it just my perception, you know there's homeless children w/mortgage crisis?
Thle US as an eglitarian society? how does the pompous ass Hartmann explain slavery? Poverty? Homelessness? Uniion busting? How does Hartmann's position that the unemployed have themselves to blame for their sufferring for not using their unemployment checkss to start their own business make him any different than Russ Limbaugh, Shaun Hannity or Bill O'Reilly? Fornication upon all defenders of Murican capitalism and the jackass they rode in on!
This guy is an idiot. The framers were not socialists. He cites some obscure book written by a siocialist as proof. If the framers wanted everyone to have government handouts they would have had an income tax. There's nothing socialist about the constitution.
@TheMobocracy LOL I find it ironic that libs talk such vitrol about the rich yet their very own party has more Billionaires like Soros, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, the Rockefellers supporting it. DNC, party of the rich.
@homeslayer Certainally not in the classical sence. Modern liberals aren't even liberal. They are more like socialists that want to regulate everything from deer populations to the amount of water in a tiolet bowl to free speech.
@homeslayer Greed is using the force of government to steal what isn't yours. Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it.
@TheMobocracy I concur. GREEDY SELF CENTERED SOCIALISTS! They want to steal from you using the government and their guns. It's like the mafia with a smiley face.
@sololamer: Fact is these these wealthy people are so wealthy because they've taken advantage of workers, not giving them a living wage, benefits, safe working conditions. They even take advantage of customers, have you ever been hit by a fee you didn't see coming? They are thieves in a very real sense.
Why is it that Thom, nor any other person I have seen through media, mention the fact that is quite verifiable if one reads "The Notes on the Debates of the Federal Convention of 1787" that the few, explicitly defined as the rich, are intentionally protected from the many, the propertyless, from "too much democracy". This is not to say that the level of democracy to be enacted by the "founding fathers" was entirely nugatory, but all those brown people and all that that white cotton... well?
@homeslayer ...well that is an absurd statement. By definition, A true conservative does not want big centralized government so what you say is sophomoric. If you wish to call me an idiot, you can since you do so as a coward from behind a computer screen...if that somehow makes you feel like a man, then have at it, but it makes you look immature. I have been a guest on this guys radio show and have debated him on these issues. If you are a socialist, then just say so. Chavez, Castro? spare me!
Conservative liars DO want a very strong centralized government. Your ilk wants a government involving itself in very intimate matters of health by telling a woman she can't have an abortion. You want to tell same-sex couples they can't get married, and some of you sick fucks even want to regulate sexual practices.
Save your mindless blather for someone dumb enough to buy it (such as one of your fellow conservative hyporcites).
@homeslayer Lighten up. The more guys like you rant and rave, the more you make yourselves out to be no different than what you accuse the conservative guys of being. You guys make me glad I remained an independent all these years.
This guy has no idea what he is talking about...historical rivisionism at its worst! I have been a guest on his show....this guy is a Marxist. Our founders wanted people to have the opportunity to succeed...not a garantee or a socialist hand out nanny state!
@musicprodave Well thanks to modern day corporatists creating the jobs with the longer hours, worse pay, no pensions, no health insurance for part timers, etc. There are many young people who went to college and still don't have a chance in this miserable economy. The whole perception of "succeed" seems to be going out of the window. Yeah we have a "nanny state" all right, for big business and banks! Did the Founding Fathers envision THIS for us??
@JoKo203 I'm afraid that guy is a right winger who doesn't understand the reason civilized people have governments..so many of these people have romanticize the good ole days of the wild west and the colonial days they don't understand we live in a totally different world..to the surprise of the right wing christians a liberal civilized society moves us closer to christian values than their conservative ideology
@xadam2dudex I have to concur with your statement. The message of Jesus does appear to be more consistent with liberal ideology. Going back to the age old philosophical biblical question in Genesis 4:9 of "Am I my brother's keeper?" Jesus and the liberal position would be a blunt "Yes." Whereas, the Conservative argument is plainly "no." I'm not arguing that Conservatives are all lacking in compassion, but the liberal position seems to be much more in line with being compassionate.
I love this guy. He is smart ! and more than that, he has a good spirit about him. That makes what he has to talk about, worth listening to. There are a lot of intellects out there but sometimes they're so full of hatred or too mean spirited and/or just too racist that they're not worth listening to. Go Thom!
The founders were CAPITALISTS. Government is not reason. Government is not eloquence. Government is force and like fire can be a dangerous servant or fearful master! George Washington
Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty. Thomas Jefferson
The essence of government is power and power lodged as it must be in human hands will ever be liable to abuse. Madison
These guys don't sound like Socialists to me Mr Hartmann.
They may have been capitalists, but they were also slave owners. I don't give a hoot about what the "Founding Fathers" originally intended. They're all dead any way. The only thing that really matters is what people of today intend.
@jimmydee3993 The founders had a good feel for human nature & understanding of why governments go wrong. They created the best form of government possible with a Constitution & Bill of rights to protect us from our ruling elite. SOME founders may have been slave owners but even that was a fight to get the slave colonies on board with revolting against british tyranny.
@joe035 The main reason for adding states to the union was to get them to be slave states, adding supporters of slavery to congress to minimize the danger of abolishing slavery. They held those truths to be "self evident" but their actions spoke louder than their words. If anyone really believes in a cause, he is ready to die for it, like Patrick Henry. The reason the "Founding Fathers" didn't emancipate their slaves was because they had debts to pay.
@jimmydee3993 Thomas Jefferson wasn't able to free all his slaves because he guaranteed the debt of a neighbor & slaves were considered property. George Washington freed all his slaves & some founders didn't have slaves.
All the colonies had to be on board with the revolt if they had a chance at beating England.
@joe035 The ruling elites of today are the corporate elites and their Republican stooges. When the government is "of the people, by the people, and for the people" it is not our enemy because we are not our own enemy. The government needs to be wrested from the hands of the corporate elite and returned to the people. Big government is the answer, because we 99% number in the millions, while the 1% who are running the country are only a handful of people.
@jimmydee3993 Democrats have as many corporations backing their elections as Republicans. OBAMA RECIEVED more money from the Golman Sachs douchebags then ANY candidate from either party. He APPROVED BUSH BAILOUTS & extended them, he has given away BILLIONS to corporate friends in govt guaranteed loans. It is not a Republican or Democrat Problem it is the establishment assholes that are embedded within BOTH.
Who made more Pelosi or Boehner on their insider trading deals???
@joe035 Just as you said, they're in bed with the corporations. We have the best government money can buy. Who cares about the founding fatherrs/mothers, I know I don't. They're all dead. I care about the people of today. The founding fathers weren't prophets of God, they were ordinary people just like you and me and had their foibles and vices. They were products of their time. We live in a different time.
@jimmydee3993 Ever hear the term History repeats itself? That occurs when idiots ignore histories lessons!
Jefferson said: "Even in the BEST FORMS of govt those entrusted with power through time & slow operations will revert it to tyranny"
Founding fathers understood dangers of govt. Constitution & Bill of Rights are under assault by BOTH parties & are the only thing protecting our minority rights. Time moves on, but human nature & role it plays in govt is consistant!
@joe035 There's one thing I can guarantee. Rock-solid guarantee. Unless a strong people's government is in place a government which protects collective as well as individual rights, a government which does not make it a right of anyone to exploit the labor of others which is a form of "something for nothing" then the common people will be oppressed. Our enemies snicker at us because we want a "nanny state" to hold our hand and help us cross the street. We need a people's government.
@jimmydee3993 Go ahead and snicker. Powerful corporations are opposed to the collective majority and give priority to individual rights. We will get our government back, and we will never let right-wingers return, we can't, we'd just be going back to the way things were before.
@jimmydee3993 Lets see so you advocate abolishing your individual rights for whatever the elected elite decides is in the best interests of the majority?
@joe035 Individual rights should never be defined as the right to defraud or the right to exploit. Owning a private business should never be a right, but a privilege just like driving, which can be revoked. Drivers should be required to obey traffic laws, and businesses should be restricted from harming the public. All forms of property ownership should be legal, that is, private, personal, state, cooperative, and any other form of ownership. Everyone should be subject to laws.
@jimmydee3993 We have a sue happy country because pissed off consumers can be compensated for unethical biz practices. Owning a biz is a burden either one you love or one you wish to pass on for early retirement.
I agree everyone but our elected elite our subject to laws in almost every instance. Insider trading by Dems & Repubs is the only thing I can think of that they are not.
@joe035 I don't like the practice of suing over everything either. I can see how it could be justified under certain circumstances. The people who are sue-happy are infected with the "something for nothing" disease, the same disease that afflicted slave owners and afflicts modern-day capitalists. It also afflicts the gamblers at casinos and the gamblers at Wall Street.
@jimmydee3993 Fortunately for us we were founded as a Constitutional Republic where rule of law & not the whims of the masses or tyranical govt dictates policy.
There is a distinct difference between private & public unions. Private unions seek profits they help EARN, Public unions buy politicians favor to STEAL more tax dollars.
No where is this more apparent then in public schools where cost keep rising with worse results!!! We have a peoples govt.
@joe035 I would say unfortunately for us. The rule of law does not dictate policy. Bush and Cheney got off scott free with their war crimes. Not one day in jail. And the corporations and banks got huge bonuses to reward them for their failures and for destroying the American economy. Rule of law? Are you kidding?
@jimmydee3993 I agree even Scooter Libbey got a out of jail free pass. Alberto Gonzales is another douche bag too. Lets be honest Deceit & theivery is not exclusive to Repubs. Obama ILLEGALY attacked Libya, no one calling foul on him! Eric Holder is supposed to be smart but says he cant remember details on Fast & Furious program he over saw. How about the MILLIONS Pelosi has made of insider trading deals oh thats right our elected elite excluded themselves from our laws!
@joe035 Why should I care what Jefferson said? Was he a prophet? What about what Thom Hartman, Amy Goodman, Rafael Correa, Simon Bolivar, Jose Marti, or Hugo Chavez say? If what they say makes sense, then I agree with them. I don't attribute sainthood to them. It's not a religion. Too many people treat the subject of government as if it were a religion.
@jimmydee3993 What it all boils down to is the powerful exploit the weak. Just read about Spartacus. Because the powerful like to get something for nothing by profiting from the labor of their slaves/employees. We slaves/employees will throw off our chains. Spartacus failed. He lost a battle. But the war still rages on. We can't stop until we achieve total victory.
@jimmydee3993 Well thats a fine way to look at it but the solution isn't in either party as both especially Obama's administration have driven our debt through the roof. We & our childern are wage slaves if the Federal Reserve has its way!
@jimmydee3993 My point was the reason history repeats itself was because people forget the lessons of the past. Socialism has NEVER worked. The Founders FEARED a Democracy because everyone has failed in history passed & that is why they created a Constitutional Republic. Jefferson FOUGHT an oppresive govt & knew the nature of it, these other people are just idealogues.
We have seen there are CONSEQUENCES for bad decisions & yet our elected Elite seem to continue down that path!
@joe035 Capitalism has never worked. Just read the history of labor and its struggles. Don't forget the colonization of Cuba, and the Philippines, which was resisted by freedom fighters. Finally the United States "granted" them their independence. Also, the domination of Latin American nations, funding their oligarchies and providing them with weapons to use against their own people when they demanded something better.
@jimmydee3993 Modern socialism accepts the existence of private enterprise as long as they are closely regulated to prevent the abuse of the public. Cooperative ownership and community ownership is also encouraged. State ownership is also acceptable. All of them are subject to regulation. We can't drive on any side of the street that we wish, or go as fast as we want. Business needs to be regulated as well.
@jimmydee3993 Next time you tun on a light in your house or go get in your car to go to work to earn a income to provide you the freedoms you take for granted you can thank Capitalism.
Communism & Socialism have failed continuously in all attempts. Kim Jung Il died today perhaps you would prefer living in North Korea where instead of being free from that tyrant they are now to deal with his son? The US is more of a corporate socialism now Capitalism cannot be blamed.
@joe035 Corporate Socialism? The corporations aren't ponying up tax dollars for social benefits, the masses are, and much of the masses tax money is being funneled to the corporations through Medicare, war industries, corporate welfare, etc. The
(Government-Fed) entity prints money to funds its programs, writes an IOU, and then guess who gets to pay for it. They don't call it public debt for nothing! Why do you think hamburger is almost $5.00 a pound? Public benefits are piddling.
@blabblab1212 Correct & that is why it is called corporate socialism! When govt has to guarantee loans as Obama has done to prop them up instead of a consumer demand creating the need for their existance. When Bush said though we have antitrust laws some banks & corps are just to big to fail. Mandated HC requiring us to buy a product from a corporation instead of a tax to provide single payer.
@joe035 Capitalism organized the things you mentioned, but the slaves, indentured servants, and employees did the worked. They worked for capitalists because the capitalists owned the land, and the means of production. I don't know much about North Korea, I admit it, but I know lots about Venezuela. And the U.S. private media characterize Hugo Chavez as a dictator, when he is the most democratic president who lives or ever lived. So I don't trust the private media.
@jimmydee3993 If the private media call someone a dictator, I suspect that the very opposite is true. And don't forget the the US has supported dictators such as Marcos, Somoza, and others.
@jimmydee3993 Chavez restructured their Constitutition & confiscated privately run industries to be run by the state. He has shut down radio & TV stations that host views with opposition to his own! Multiple articles & claims have been made that his elections are rigged??
I agree he is the very ideal of what US Democrats represent & what President Obama aspires to be. Where rule of law is what you dictate.
@joe035 Chavez didn't restructure anything. He proposed changes to the constitution which he submitted to the people to vote on in a referendum. The referendum passed. He didn't shut down any media. He simply allowed their license to use the air waves expire when they violated the law, committing such infractions as calling for the assassination of the president. Right now, the majority of the media in Venezuela are privately owned.
@jimmydee3993 When a plant has remained idle for a certain length of time, the owners are notified to get it up and running. If they need capital, they are offered credit. If they fail to do so, it is seized and put into operation by the state. If any company refuses to pay taxes, it is subject to seizure. If any company engages in hoarding to force up prices, or make it appear that there is scarcity so Chavez can be blames, then it is subject to seizure.
@jimmydee3993 President Chavez is determined to end extreme poverty in Venezuela. He is a strongman on behalf of the poor majority in Venezuela. But he has the support of the poor majority. He always wins in democratic elections. He submits many things to the people in referendums and he accedes to the will of the people. It is the wealthy oligarchy which hates and opposes him, because he spoiled their little party that they had going on.
@jimmydee3993 The country wasn't created by slaves & their masters but people seeking opportunity & freedom! Chavez shuts down all opposing views & rigs the elections & rewrote their Constitution. You think that is Democracy?
@joe035 Globovision is still up and running. I read it nearly every day on the internet, as well as listen a while to its broadcasts. They continually publish their opposing views. I also read other privately owned Venezuelan media on line. They criticize the president incessantly. Freedom of the press is still alive and well in Venezuela.
@jimmydee3993 The elections are always monitored by international observers including the Carter Foundation. They have always said the elections were clean and fair. Why would the common people elect the same people who kept them in ignorance and poverty for so long? Now they are literate, get enough to eat, have access to health care, and every day all over Venezuela people are moving out of their tin shacks into decent housing. All the school children get laptop computers.
@jimmydee3993 Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez shut down 34 private radio stations. Worldfocus blogger Peter Eisner criticizes the crackdown on free speech and media. No freedom of the speech means letting people here all views & not shutting down news outlets like Chavez has.
See Moon over Parador movie with Richard Dreyfuss, it reminds me of Chavez monarchy, I mean alleged presidency. Do you like Chavez in Blue or Red either way you get Chavez!
@joe035 Right here in the United States license renewal to broadcast over the air waves is rejected or revoked for violating the law. There are many private radio stations operating in Venezuela. There is a morality code that adult content can't be broadcast until late at night when children are sleeping. There is also a rating system according to the suitablilty for content for certain age groups. If they violate the code, they can be fined or shut down for repeat violations.
@jimmydee3993 I'm 72 years old and would love to live in Venezuela to see the things that are being accomplished, but of course I would be a burden on Venezuelan society. We could use a president like Chavez here.
@joe035 Peter Eisner must be a right-winger. Of course he would criticize
Chavez just like the Venezuelan oligarchy does. There has been no crackdown on free speech. One characteristic of the private media in Venezuela is that they distort, manipulate, lie, and slander to poison the minds of the public. They're still doing it today. If it weren't for agencia bolivariana de noticias or aporrea.org nobody would know the truth. No one goes to prison.
send in some subs thom? or rather, the establishment that is slowly killing everyone, the same establishment that employs your keep their head on ass.
if i were in charge i would have you and amy goodman on every news channel. neither one of you though would have anything to say and no one would watch you.
@sgtjasonshrout Too bad Texas does not have much for freedom now with drones for law enforcement and a governor that would make cuts to the fire department during wild fire season.
Obama & Al Gore are worthless rightwing pieces of conservative shit.
The only solution: kill anyone who votes for Republicrats and Demopubs.
This scum refuses to accept responsibility for the consequences of their actions.
Anthropogenic global warming is real and serious. Governments of the world must be forced to support only wind, solar, geothermal and wave power - not nuclear, oil, coal.
Why is EVERYTHING about money and MY AMERICA for the christian conservatives? I don't get it! Aren't we suppose to live our lives more like Jesus? If someone like Thom who wants to make sure that everyone is treated fairly a socialist? Liberals like Thom are just trying to make sure big business and greed doesn't destroy our country. The gov. isn't the boogie man it's RICH WHITE MEN you should be worried about. Our founding fathers warn us about the Bank take over. God warns us about greed.
I dont believe it was a Christian conservative who came up with "It's the economy, stupid." Why is it that you only bring up Jesus when liberals wrongly interpret the Bible. First of all, I thought libs were for separation of church and state? Secondly, Jesus was talking to individuals. He wasn't telling the government to take money from people to give to others. Liberals just don't get the fact that taxes is not charitable giving.
I'm "white", should i intentionally live on the streets?
Hartman is a unfortunately a racist. It is for feminist hatred like this that there is a neo-conservative movement. A backlash to the social restructuring bigotry directed at innocent caucasian men whom are just trying to live life.
So-called liberals are blatantly racist, sexist, rude, and anti-social. They resent that the descendants of Europe and Euro-Americans created everything you know and see. This country's in deep trouble.
Your comments are inflammatory and ignorant. Poor me. I got mine and I'm not sharing kind of attitude is what will sink this country. Read a book some time. Try reading one of the history books mentioned in the video, or one of Hartmann's books. You might learn something.
lilgurly your progressive indoctrination is showing. demonizing whitey - when the culprit is multinational corporations working in concert with governments - big guv in bed with big bizz - greed? politicians are the greediest of all, and produce no wealth. progressives want a big guv to protect us against big bizz, but that doesn't work. decentralizing works, strong states like the founders envisioned, a tiny central guv.
That can't happen unless the people take back the government. The Democrats aren't the answer and the Republicans are even worse, so what's the answer? How do you elect people the corporate media won't even let you see? How do get the public to wake up enough to realize that a few very rich people are trying to enslave them?
I agree with you, however, I think there are a handfull of honest hard working people acually trying to do right by the people. Dennis Kucinich,Bernie Sanders, Carl Levin,Grayson. I think by and large though our govt. is bought. Howard Dean
I'm with ya brother. I feel so sad and defeated at times. So many people I talk to don't even know what's happening. Everybody knows what's going on in Tiger Wood's bed, but don't even realize the importance of the recent Supreme Court decision regarding corporations. Well, I intend to go down swinging. I feel I owe it to the people before me who fought and died so I could live this "American Dream".
I know exactly what you mean. Even the assistant plant manager at the large plant I contract at was surprised when I told him about the Supreme Court decision! At least he understood what it might mean. People like you show me there's hope. And Obama is really trying despite everything, so I guess I'll keep fighting too. Mostly because I hate to see those rich bastards get away with this. Glad to meet you, slickjilly.
massachusetts didn't allow walmart in their state, there's one example of a state exerting their power. centralized power, whether public or private, is the real danger.
@adzug at least they would have a job. all kidding aside, no one is proposing anything like that. but we have to stop the robotic "illegal aliens" from taking our jobs. it is the robots that take our jobs, not the immigrants. just an increased population due to births increases the need for more farm workers to feed them, more teachers to educate them, more hospitals, doctors and nurses, so the presence of immigrants also creates the need for jobs . they don't take jobs away.
Right on lilgurly. What did Jesus actually want from us? Oh yea something about taking care of the poor, widows, orphans, judge not lest ye be judged, love thy neighbor.
@lilgurly1607 Everything you own, that is in your home was made by corporations. Stop youre silly complaining. Its not just rich white men, its also rich yellow men. Read the label stupid.
@lilgurly1607 You don't think the banks control the government? Look at the 800+ billion bailout Obama gave to banks and other RICH MEN (of all races, not your racist interpretation of it being ALL WHITE).
@lilgurly1607 OKay. There is no disagreement about that obviously, and it's a cop out to assume so. Usually, the arguments boil down to the fact that one person knows economics while the other person doesn't. And instead of admitting ignorance or god forbid learning something, the econmic illiterate goes for labels and "agrees to disagree" if they are particularly spiteful.
@lilgurly1607 Someone who labels themself a "conservative Christian" is basically telling you, "I'm following Jesus only up to a point. After that point I don't trust that what Jesus says works." What Jesus taught us does work. We need to review what he said, and listen to him, and not pastors or politicos who speak their own agenda. And believe that if we refuse to cooperate with anything else, we will achieve a harmonized and just society. A much less fear-driven society.
"The wealthy deserve their wealth, they worked hard for their wealth"? What about the heirs of Sam Walton, who are on every list of the most wealthy people in the world? Most of the super rich inherited their wealth.
@MrTabby5000 The wealthy worked for part of their wealth, not all of it; their employees and consumers worked for the rest of it, unless they inherited it. The wealthy hate to work, they'd rather make their money off of other people's work.
yeah, and? where's the rest of it? is he gonna say the founding fathers wanted non citizens to vote, the rich to pay 70% taxes, free health care for all, and pacifism? i can't wait for the punchline. yeah jefferson and madison, washington et al. were all modern liberals. this guy needs a laugh track for his speech.
WHats Thom have to say about global warming now that it has been proven that all these scientists have been fucking liars. Hide real data when it shows the truth and make up data to support their lies. Thom your a fool.
Cyclical warming of the planet is indeed being enhanced by humanity. One does not cancel out the other theories, and anyone who has the gift of observation can see our impact on this planet. There is too much human biomass on this planet.
Then kill yourself and reduce the "biomass" or are you not committed to saving the earth??
When you respond, and I know you will, please tell me about these brilliant scientists who have been blowing smoke up our asses about global warming. They are fucking liars just like this Thom faggot.

I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you in case you're interested.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 I just refernced you irrefutable facts of how he shut down TV & Radio broadcasts with views that oppose his own & you say I'm a liar. FYI Obama wants to force Americans to buy HC Insurance from his hmo corporate friends pay a fine or go to jail. He also attacked Liby without porovocation or Congressional approval which was an ILLEGAL & Tyranical act! You already bought the bridge dude, I'm just trying to keep you from buying another!
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 When I said Chavez' critics are liars, I meant his Venezuelan critics in the media. They know the real truth but deliberately distort and manipulate. As for his American critics, it could just be a question of misinformation due to the media bias in this country. But after your last statement about Obama, I don't see any further need to converse with you, you have either been duped by the right-wingers or you may be purposely twisting the facts. In either case, let's end the conversation
jimmydee3993 1 month ago

REASON, EMOTION & TRUTH:
The series 'V' is a fictional TV show that explains (revelation of method) what is really going on with the evil UFO creatures (real spirit Lucifer & spirit demon gods) on this earth. The John Carpenter documentary movie called 'THEY LIVE' explained this fact about the UFO creatures 25 years ago, but most people care more about the foolish religion of sports than truth, freedom or saving their own lives! The founding fathers? They were not MY founding fathers because they keep my ancestors in slavery. As a matter of fact blacks were not considered humans, so fuck Thomas Jefferson, James Madison. George Washington!

They may have been capitalists, but they were also slave owners. I don't give a hoot about what the "Founding Fathers" originally intended. They're all dead any way. The only thing that really matters is what people of today intend.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 The founders had a good feel for human nature & understanding of why governments go wrong. They created the best form of government possible with a Constitution & Bill of rights to protect us from our ruling elite. SOME founders may have been slave owners but even that was a fight to get the slave colonies on board with revolting against british tyranny.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 The main reason for adding states to the union was to get them to be slave states, adding supporters of slavery to congress to minimize the danger of abolishing slavery. They held those truths to be "self evident" but their actions spoke louder than their words. If anyone really believes in a cause, he is ready to die for it, like Patrick Henry. The reason the "Founding Fathers" didn't emancipate their slaves was because they had debts to pay.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 They relied on the income that was generated by their slaves' labor.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Thomas Jefferson wasn't able to free all his slaves because he guaranteed the debt of a neighbor & slaves were considered property. George Washington freed all his slaves & some founders didn't have slaves.
All the colonies had to be on board with the revolt if they had a chance at beating England.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 The ruling elites of today are the corporate elites and their Republican stooges. When the government is "of the people, by the people, and for the people" it is not our enemy because we are not our own enemy. The government needs to be wrested from the hands of the corporate elite and returned to the people. Big government is the answer, because we 99% number in the millions, while the 1% who are running the country are only a handful of people.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Democrats have as many corporations backing their elections as Republicans. OBAMA RECIEVED more money from the Golman Sachs douchebags then ANY candidate from either party. He APPROVED BUSH BAILOUTS & extended them, he has given away BILLIONS to corporate friends in govt guaranteed loans. It is not a Republican or Democrat Problem it is the establishment assholes that are embedded within BOTH.

Time moves on, but human nature & role it plays in govt is consistant!
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 There's one thing I can guarantee. Rock-solid guarantee. Unless a strong people's government is in place a government which protects collective as well as individual rights, a government which does not make it a right of anyone to exploit the labor of others which is a form of "something for nothing" then the common people will be oppressed. Our enemies snicker at us because we want a "nanny state" to hold our hand and help us cross the street. We need a people's government.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Go ahead and snicker. Powerful corporations are opposed to the collective majority and give priority to individual rights. We will get our government back, and we will never let right-wingers return, we can't, we'd just be going back to the way things were before.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Lets see so you advocate abolishing your individual rights for whatever the elected elite decides is in the best interests of the majority?
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Individual rights should never be defined as the right to defraud or the right to exploit. Owning a private business should never be a right, but a privilege just like driving, which can be revoked. Drivers should be required to obey traffic laws, and businesses should be restricted from harming the public. All forms of property ownership should be legal, that is, private, personal, state, cooperative, and any other form of ownership. Everyone should be subject to laws.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 We have a sue happy country because pissed off consumers can be compensated for unethical biz practices. Owning a biz is a burden either one you love or one you wish to pass on for early retirement.
I agree everyone but our elected elite our subject to laws in almost every instance. Insider trading by Dems & Repubs is the only thing I can think of that they are not.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 I don't like the practice of suing over everything either. I can see how it could be justified under certain circumstances. The people who are sue-happy are infected with the "something for nothing" disease, the same disease that afflicted slave owners and afflicts modern-day capitalists. It also afflicts the gamblers at casinos and the gamblers at Wall Street.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Fortunately for us we were founded as a Constitutional Republic where rule of law & not the whims of the masses or tyranical govt dictates policy.
There is a distinct difference between private & public unions. Private unions seek profits they help EARN, Public unions buy politicians favor to STEAL more tax dollars.
No where is this more apparent then in public schools where cost keep rising with worse results!!! We have a peoples govt.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 I would say unfortunately for us. The rule of law does not dictate policy. Bush and Cheney got off scott free with their war crimes. Not one day in jail. And the corporations and banks got huge bonuses to reward them for their failures and for destroying the American economy. Rule of law? Are you kidding?
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 I agree even Scooter Libbey got a out of jail free pass. Alberto Gonzales is another douche bag too. Lets be honest Deceit & theivery is not exclusive to Repubs. Obama ILLEGALY attacked Libya, no one calling foul on him! Eric Holder is supposed to be smart but says he cant remember details on Fast & Furious program he over saw. How about the MILLIONS Pelosi has made of insider trading deals oh thats right our elected elite excluded themselves from our laws!
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Why should I care what Jefferson said? Was he a prophet? What about what Thom Hartman, Amy Goodman, Rafael Correa, Simon Bolivar, Jose Marti, or Hugo Chavez say? If what they say makes sense, then I agree with them. I don't attribute sainthood to them. It's not a religion. Too many people treat the subject of government as if it were a religion.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 What it all boils down to is the powerful exploit the weak. Just read about Spartacus. Because the powerful like to get something for nothing by profiting from the labor of their slaves/employees. We slaves/employees will throw off our chains. Spartacus failed. He lost a battle. But the war still rages on. We can't stop until we achieve total victory.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago

Also, the domination of Latin American nations, funding their oligarchies and providing them with weapons to use against their own people when they demanded something better.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Modern socialism accepts the existence of private enterprise as long as they are closely regulated to prevent the abuse of the public. Cooperative ownership and community ownership is also encouraged. State ownership is also acceptable. All of them are subject to regulation. We can't drive on any side of the street that we wish, or go as fast as we want. Business needs to be regulated as well.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Next time you tun on a light in your house or go get in your car to go to work to earn a income to provide you the freedoms you take for granted you can thank Capitalism.
Communism & Socialism have failed continuously in all attempts. Kim Jung Il died today perhaps you would prefer living in North Korea where instead of being free from that tyrant they are now to deal with his son? The US is more of a corporate socialism now Capitalism cannot be blamed.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Corporate Socialism? The corporations aren't ponying up tax dollars for social benefits, the masses are, and much of the masses tax money is being funneled to the corporations through Medicare, war industries, corporate welfare, etc. The
(Government-Fed) entity prints money to funds its programs, writes an IOU, and then guess who gets to pay for it. They don't call it public debt for nothing! Why do you think hamburger is almost $5.00 a pound? Public benefits are piddling.
blabblab1212 1 month ago
@blabblab1212 Correct & that is why it is called corporate socialism! When govt has to guarantee loans as Obama has done to prop them up instead of a consumer demand creating the need for their existance. When Bush said though we have antitrust laws some banks & corps are just to big to fail. Mandated HC requiring us to buy a product from a corporation instead of a tax to provide single payer.
Establishment needs to go vote Ron Paul 2012!!!
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Capitalism organized the things you mentioned, but the slaves, indentured servants, and employees did the worked. They worked for capitalists because the capitalists owned the land, and the means of production. I don't know much about North Korea, I admit it, but I know lots about Venezuela. And the U.S. private media characterize Hugo Chavez as a dictator, when he is the most democratic president who lives or ever lived. So I don't trust the private media.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 If the private media call someone a dictator, I suspect that the very opposite is true. And don't forget the the US has supported dictators such as Marcos, Somoza, and others.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Chavez restructured their Constitutition & confiscated privately run industries to be run by the state. He has shut down radio & TV stations that host views with opposition to his own! Multiple articles & claims have been made that his elections are rigged??
I agree he is the very ideal of what US Democrats represent & what President Obama aspires to be. Where rule of law is what you dictate.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Chavez didn't restructure anything. He proposed changes to the constitution which he submitted to the people to vote on in a referendum. The referendum passed. He didn't shut down any media. He simply allowed their license to use the air waves expire when they violated the law, committing such infractions as calling for the assassination of the president. Right now, the majority of the media in Venezuela are privately owned.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 When a plant has remained idle for a certain length of time, the owners are notified to get it up and running. If they need capital, they are offered credit. If they fail to do so, it is seized and put into operation by the state. If any company refuses to pay taxes, it is subject to seizure. If any company engages in hoarding to force up prices, or make it appear that there is scarcity so Chavez can be blames, then it is subject to seizure.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 President Chavez is determined to end extreme poverty in Venezuela. He is a strongman on behalf of the poor majority in Venezuela. But he has the support of the poor majority. He always wins in democratic elections. He submits many things to the people in referendums and he accedes to the will of the people. It is the wealthy oligarchy which hates and opposes him, because he spoiled their little party that they had going on.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 The country wasn't created by slaves & their masters but people seeking opportunity & freedom! Chavez shuts down all opposing views & rigs the elections & rewrote their Constitution. You think that is Democracy?
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Globovision is still up and running. I read it nearly every day on the internet, as well as listen a while to its broadcasts. They continually publish their opposing views. I also read other privately owned Venezuelan media on line. They criticize the president incessantly. Freedom of the press is still alive and well in Venezuela.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 The elections are always monitored by international observers including the Carter Foundation. They have always said the elections were clean and fair. Why would the common people elect the same people who kept them in ignorance and poverty for so long? Now they are literate, get enough to eat, have access to health care, and every day all over Venezuela people are moving out of their tin shacks into decent housing. All the school children get laptop computers.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 The school children get laptop computers which are made right in Venezuela.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez shut down 34 private radio stations. Worldfocus blogger Peter Eisner criticizes the crackdown on free speech and media. No freedom of the speech means letting people here all views & not shutting down news outlets like Chavez has.
See Moon over Parador movie with Richard Dreyfuss, it reminds me of Chavez monarchy, I mean alleged presidency. Do you like Chavez in Blue or Red either way you get Chavez!
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Right here in the United States license renewal to broadcast over the air waves is rejected or revoked for violating the law. There are many private radio stations operating in Venezuela. There is a morality code that adult content can't be broadcast until late at night when children are sleeping. There is also a rating system according to the suitablilty for content for certain age groups. If they violate the code, they can be fined or shut down for repeat violations.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 I'm 72 years old and would love to live in Venezuela to see the things that are being accomplished, but of course I would be a burden on Venezuelan society. We could use a president like Chavez here.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 The morality is dont disagree with the guy currently in charge.
joe035 1 month ago
@joe035 Peter Eisner must be a right-winger. Of course he would criticize
Chavez just like the Venezuelan oligarchy does. There has been no crackdown on free speech. One characteristic of the private media in Venezuela is that they distort, manipulate, lie, and slander to poison the minds of the public. They're still doing it today. If it weren't for agencia bolivariana de noticias or aporrea.org nobody would know the truth. No one goes to prison.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 Their license is allowed to expire or revoked when they call for the assassination of the president.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@jimmydee3993 I mean to say, no reporter or broadcaster goes to prison for expressing their views.

The only solution: kill anyone who votes for Republicrats and Demopubs.

God warns us about greed.
lilgurly1607 2 years ago 21

This country's in deep trouble.
drunksingsheep 2 years ago
Your comments are inflammatory and ignorant. Poor me. I got mine and I'm not sharing kind of attitude is what will sink this country. Read a book some time. Try reading one of the history books mentioned in the video, or one of Hartmann's books. You might learn something.

lilgurly your progressive indoctrination is showing. demonizing whitey - when the culprit is multinational corporations working in concert with governments - big guv in bed with big bizz - greed? politicians are the greediest of all, and produce no wealth. progressives want a big guv to protect us against big bizz, but that doesn't work. decentralizing works, strong states like the founders envisioned, a tiny central guv.
megagagnon1 2 years ago
That can't happen unless the people take back the government. The Democrats aren't the answer and the Republicans are even worse, so what's the answer? How do you elect people the corporate media won't even let you see? How do get the public to wake up enough to realize that a few very rich people are trying to enslave them?
DojoNDude 2 years ago 4
I agree with you, however, I think there are a handfull of honest hard working people acually trying to do right by the people. Dennis Kucinich,Bernie Sanders, Carl Levin,Grayson. I think by and large though our govt. is bought. Howard Dean

I'm with ya brother. I feel so sad and defeated at times. So many people I talk to don't even know what's happening. Everybody knows what's going on in Tiger Wood's bed, but don't even realize the importance of the recent Supreme Court decision regarding corporations. Well, I intend to go down swinging. I feel I owe it to the people before me who fought and died so I could live this "American Dream".
slickjilly 1 year ago
I know exactly what you mean. Even the assistant plant manager at the large plant I contract at was surprised when I told him about the Supreme Court decision! At least he understood what it might mean. People like you show me there's hope. And Obama is really trying despite everything, so I guess I'll keep fighting too. Mostly because I hate to see those rich bastards get away with this. Glad to meet you, slickjilly.

MrTabby5000 1 year ago
@adzug at least they would have a job. all kidding aside, no one is proposing anything like that. but we have to stop the robotic "illegal aliens" from taking our jobs. it is the robots that take our jobs, not the immigrants. just an increased population due to births increases the need for more farm workers to feed them, more teachers to educate them, more hospitals, doctors and nurses, so the presence of immigrants also creates the need for jobs . they don't take jobs away.
jimmydee3993 1 month ago
@MrTabby5000 walmart eliminate several jobs in small businesses and replaces them with a few jobs. walmart stimulates the chinese economy.

@lilgurly1607 You don't think the banks control the government? Look at the 800+ billion bailout Obama gave to banks and other RICH MEN (of all races, not your racist interpretation of it being ALL WHITE).
AXESMI 1 year ago
@lilgurly1607 OKay. There is no disagreement about that obviously, and it's a cop out to assume so. Usually, the arguments boil down to the fact that one person knows economics while the other person doesn't. And instead of admitting ignorance or god forbid learning something, the econmic illiterate goes for labels and "agrees to disagree" if they are particularly spiteful.
guyjohn59 1 year ago
@lilgurly1607 Someone who labels themself a "conservative Christian" is basically telling you, "I'm following Jesus only up to a point. After that point I don't trust that what Jesus says works." What Jesus taught us does work. We need to review what he said, and listen to him, and not pastors or politicos who speak their own agenda. And believe that if we refuse to cooperate with anything else, we will achieve a harmonized and just society. A much less fear-driven society.
