the thing i like most about silent hill games is the small and subtle hints that the events are taking place inside the characters heads, (James guilt in SH2, The dads grief in SH1) etc.

the charachters have all suffered loss or recent mental trauma... the wheelchairs are a hint to this...

i just beat it a minute ago. i got this ending too. good. very scary game, it's not really sad though, i thought silent hill 5 was sad. i love this one the most though, it's very scary, and the story is very unique and thoughtful.

It's the most beautiful silent hill, after SILENT HILL 2. Masterpiece.

* try to walk with her as much as possible as it will knacker her out, ur impatient i know!

just run from undefeatable ghosts!

* obviously try not let her get into too much combat especially keep her away from ghost fights, take them down as fast as u can!

* the 2 silver bulls my advice is 4 jasper and richard, cynthia wont coz 2 much damage

* and candles in the supers room will help majorly also

It took me ages but i finaly got this ending.

My tips:

* the hauntings are pimps just use all the holy candles for them save medallions 4 da ghosts

* It might help not to take the shabby doll from walter as this may make her more insane as she rambled less psychotic phrases when i didnt take the doll

Yeah SH2 definately was the best (although I would probably rate SH3 above 4 for the gameplay and monsters, if not characters and plot). I really liked Homecoming though and would put it a fter 2, then 1, 3, 4 and I can't rate Origins cause I haven't played it.

to get the escape ending you have to exercise the hunting's in your apartment room that happen after you save Eileen from hospital world using a holy candle or a saints medallion, plus you have to protect Eileen and keep her from getting hit the best you can.

There was this trick where you could heal eileen before the last boss.

Before opening the red box, place a holy candle and heal eileen by letting her stand as close as possible to the candle. Then open the red box BEFORE the candle is uh...out. Eileen should then leave the room, healed and also healed at the boss fight, which makes her move slower :P

I tried to stand in front of eileen while fighting enemies, this doesnt always work because she likes a little brawl too :P Hope this helps!

There are four endings to SH4, yes there's a PC version, the difference between the Mother ending and the Escape ending is that in the Mother ending Eileen wants to go back to live at South Ashfield Heights and room 302 is possessed still whereas in Escape they leave for good. As for people who are having trouble keeping Eileen from dieing...The more possessed she is the faster she walks, so try healing her a bit with the candles.

Usually the point of every Silent Hill game is that you first get involved with some kid of weird stuff that's related to Silent Hill-incidents and your goal is to get through a numerous challanges, puzzles and enemies/friends to escape this (in my opinion frickin awesome) nightmare.

Like SH 1 - Has to do with Harry coming to SH to look for his daughter Sheryl

SH 2 - James get a letter from his dead wife that she's in SH

SH 3 - Heather is a new version of Alyssa
