  • He would be a good president for he US.

  • Michael Burry was the first to predict the sub-prime crisis and made $700 million for his clients.

    Schiff is sham...!

  • put in greenspans lap ..hes almost dead

  • Today instead producing consumer goods America makes weapons, bombs, which sells or puts into other countries.

  • why can't these videos go viral? sadface.

  • I made a good edit and Barry Asmus update from this debate. Search for Peter Schiff vs Barry Asmus - An Economics Lesson.

(sorry for the shameless plug but I think it's relevant to this video)

  • 115 933 views.

    Do I need to elaborate?

  • Great speaker! Banker indeed made a lot of revenues because of foreclosure properties.

  • He appears to do this whole thing with even looking at a note. Barry uses a teleprompter to address grade school kids. America has cranial rectal inversion putting that incompetent "community organizer" in the oval office while Connecticut "republicans" pick a wrestling ho over the common sense and leadership of Peter Schiff. The USA IS doomed. Peter, thanks for the very clear warnings.

  • @chickatawbutt Yeah it's quite sad...

  • The people of Connecticut (are morons) and did the U.S. a great dis-service and missed a huge opportunity by not putting Peter Schiff in the Senate. We need Peter in the Congress. Peter, PLEASE continue to run, Lincoln missed his first shot too. We need your common sense in that chamber.

  • @chickatawbutt Peter Schiff would not and will not get anything done in congress by himself. And that is just the honest truth. After all Ron Paul has been there for decades and has essentially achieved nothing. One senator/congressman cannot change anything.

It is the people that have to wake up and make their politicians listen to their needs and worries. If we speak sternly and if enough voices speak out, they will listen.

  • @emichik86 Agreed. I think we call it the Tea Party.

  • the news always laughs at this guy on tv, but i don't get it, if he was telling the truth why do they laugh at him?

  • Did you know that all mortgages in this country are fraudulent? Did you know that if you were to take your mortgage company or bank to court, like I'm doing now, that they cannot prove they gave you a loan and then come to you with offers to settle? A signiture on a promisorry note does not prove a loan. A loan is when you take your assets and put them at risk for someone else. Well thanks to the fed reserve, that never happens. And some of us have wised up and called bluffs.

  • Simple solutions like Schiff's are usually simple, plausable and Dead Wrong..

  • Yeah do some research ..You'll find investor after investor writing about Schiff's Euro Pacific Capitol fund losing 40 to 80% of their investment, recomending stocks that had been delisted and in the fight of their life to just get their funds back...just because a shit eating moron like Schiff pushes your personal prejudice buttons doesn't mean he's not a shit eating moron... People found that lovable old Bernie Madoff irresistible too...

  • @bellcord

".just because a shit eating moron like Schiff pushes your personal prejudice buttons"

lol, denouncing personal prejudice whilst diplaying personal prejudice, nothing escapes you does it? Well except a healthy dose of introspection anyway.

Guess irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.

  • @canisfamilliaris "Irony can be pretty ironic" !!...Cripes, that's your big insight ??...How 'bout "Morons can be pretty Moronic "...

  • @bellcord

or volcanoes can be pretty volcanic?

  • Since this asshat has lost 70% of his investor's money since 2009 I'm dubious..course if I'm ever on a desert island with 5 Chinamen this shithead's who I'm callin' first....NOT !

  • I was checking my 401k in one fund they had 5% allocated to mortgage backed securities

  • his hair has really gone grey over the last 4 years

  • Mortgage brokers and Realtors. What a bunch of slime.

  • Please tell your friends about this amazing video.

For convenience this video can be found at the web page: spectacularprediction

( just add the common prefix and suffix which is not allowed in these posts )

  • There are no Honors for this video as of now ( April 5 2010) If YouTube had artificial intelligence then this video would automatically be granted high honors by YouTube.

  • Anybody seriously interested in economics who's watching this, don't you think that China's old desire to keep the dollar high by keeping the yuan low by forcefully preventing imports to China by hoarding dollars confiscated from the people (and then the machine works by itself) had some intent other than just limiting American exports? Given the bubble economy causing rising price indices for housing (the pith of overrating actual demand) their hoarding was perhaps to CREATE that debt economy?

  • I could listen to this guy endlessly, it's just common sense, as it usually is.

  • Obitchyouwary couldn't out-dive two more experienced Bush-pilots when Joe Plumber was on Debate III with an IQ of TWO for a half-hour, so Granny Maddie told Bam he was Kenyan, she died, and that's all I have to say about THAT. Shoulda dumped, but he gumped past Cosby and Bel Air, which tell him to STAY HOME, and leave Star Trek to the conventioneers, but NO! We wait for Disney to roll over and invent a new cartoon, for Mr.President. Planes, copters, and cars roll over, in 2011. Got volcanoes?

  • We had 400 thousand African slaves t back then too.

The normal white man wont work in the 21st century, and there's only so many Mexicans in the U.S.

  • Bring'em all if you'd like. All long as you're cool with black folk, then I don't mind. Maybe you can help us take down this white devil we've been dealing with. Then we can heal mother nature, and start living in peace again.

  • What about his cracka ass? He's from a white womens whomb.

  • That's because the African's genes are stronger than the genes of the white man. Thus the reason those devils want to kill us... I'm Navajo by the way.

  • I'm Navajo as all hell, devil. And fuck your dad!

  • lol.....genes are genes, none is "stronger" than the other.....that's racist nonsense

  • No. You're mistaken. Do your research, and please keep your OPINIONS to yourself.

It would be like saying a brown bear has the same genes as a black bear, polor bear, ect..

  • No, moron, I didn't say they were the same...what would quantify "strength" in a gene other than dominant vs. recessive?

  • moron?

Ok, that's enough of out of you white devil.

  • A black power Navajo arguing with a white devil Aymara... I guess I really have seen it all.

What was this video about again?

  • @JurkoffJay i don't think he should keep his opinions to himselt hence this is a comment feature. better idea would be to have own opinion and offer it us so it might enlight others of perhaps better way of understanding. I understand what are you saying but please don't find yourself on the dark side of an argument for the sake of the argument itself. You understand what I mean.

  • @pretorious700

Easy now, you just broke this guy's bubble, the bubble his supremacist beliefs long instilled in him.

  • @JurkoffJay Stronger? Older perhaps...but stronger? Thats quite debateble

  • 165 tons mined gold in the world equals

    5.5 trillion us $ @ $1100 ounce

Does this mean one should hourd gold for retirement?

Would have worked great if you started in 2000 @ $280 ounce.

Now were into trillion $ annual deficits and the worlds demagraphics are getting very very grey ,long in the tooth

and expect the government to take care of them after putting all that $ into social security their governments dont really have.

  • I'm a social rather than liberalise-everything-now objectivist (don't worry, I believe in constitution to limit socially elected govt) BUT if Ron Paul was Republican candidate in 08, I would have voted for him over Obama (if I was American) Their libertarianism and Objective economics are now very needed as mercantilism, corporate-social-fascism, economic nationalism take America and the world into retarded capitalism affected by protectionism and demand side economics. Liberty is in danger.

  • He's running for President in 2012 right? I would love to see a Schiff / Ron Paul ticket! :D

  • nah senator 2010

  • THE PROPHET SPEAKS,WE SHOULD ALL BOW.

  • He's no prophet!

Just an economist with common sense and integrity

  • you are right!

to everyone: watch the video about his fathers book and you become a "prophet" too.

irwin schiff "How the economy grows and why it doesnt"

  • Cool, thanks for the link

  • @Sam26100

    According to dictionary(.) kom

    prophet

    4. "a predictor" so he is a prophet!

  • I just checked your source, that's only one out of 7 definition posted there. Most refer to some mystical source, such as God or whatever

I.E. Schiff is not Nostradamus, he made a prediction based on facts, not divine revelations

  • Mr. Schiff, thank you for your clear insights on the current state of the world economy and that of the United States in particular. As far back as in the nineties, I already had a bad feeling about the way the American economy was evolving and what this would mean for the world at large. However, your analyses have been indispensable to me for fully understanding what has been and still is going on. I hope you will get elected to the Senate. Yours sincerely, Dr. Chris Scheerder, the Netherlands

  • If you want Mr. Schiff to read your comment I suggest you write to Mr. Schiff.

  • Profound insight, watch this entire speech twice. more people need to see this. I believe this is a fight of information and disinformation. If every american watched this, considered these ideas, and took the time to research the information, we would not be in this situation. Instead, Americans watch CORPORATE news. Spread the word of people like Peter Schiff and Ron Paul. Great ideas travel at an exponentially fast rate.

  • @CensoredKnowledge Peter's radio show is catching on, he has about 30,000 daily listeners. Everyone does indeed need to spread the word about Schiff to friends family anyone open to a re-embrace of free market capitalism. Our prosperity is being stolen from us. Schiff articulates a defense of free market solutions better than anyone, and if we can get his message to a wider audience, non-Keyensian truth may start to permiate the mainstream press.

  • Keep up the Great work Peter!

  • Peter is king, everyone get liquid

  • Just imagine how different things would be if this reasoning were to be found in investment houses, television stations, and Washington. Everyone I know is broke, and most of the once safe and great cities throughout the Midwest look like they've been hit by a bomb. Too bad we'll never hear Peter Schiff's common sense message on mainstream network television. There's not enough space between all the stories about "cash for clunkers" and "$8000 buyer credits" that Obama thinks constitutes CHANGE.

  • I'm really appreciative of Peter Schiff for crystallizing what's really been wrong with the US economy. As a conservative who's transforming into a "classical liberal", I've tended to focus just on fiscal policy issues (tax, spend, & regulate). I've never put much thought into monetary policy (the FED). Only Schiff and Ron Paul are laying out the problems with this in black and white. Anybody that points out the problems with the FED (including Rep Alan Grayson) we should pay attention to.

  • I watched all eight parts. Quite amazing! Has anyone described the 2007 housing bubble popping so well? If so, did they do it in 2006?

  • awesome

  • Peter Schiff is the "Nostradamus of Economics". He owns the ass of Danielle Babb, Art "The Ignorant" Laffer, all CNBC clowns and the rest of stupids that missed this crisis. They missed it becuaes they dont' understand the fundamentals of the US Economy.

  • to bad barney frank didnt listen to this guy

  • This is a great speech of his. People should take his advice

  • Asmus reminds me of a Lutheran "preacher" - he has nothing to say.

  • Are you spamming this comment? Well prepare to get called on your crap, I'm marking this as SPAM!!!!

  • I'm impressed.

  • Mark Twain wrote about Tom Sawyer not Samuel Beckett.

  • Samuel Clemmens not Beckett. Mark Twain was his pen name

  • Thank you for disabusing me.

  • peter schiff appeared in my dream. I broke into his house. But there was nothing tangible to find. Then he came in and i said something..i cant remember hahaha i ve watched too much schiff videos

  • Appeared in your dream!! HAHAHA!! These bankers are ALL treacherous twats who only think about theirselves and shot all be shot!! BASTARDS!!!!

  • they're unemployed now and probably dreaming about him too

  • could someone message me and let me know what part of the video he talks about capitalist fundamentals and the benefits of a contract economy?

    thanks

  • I agree!

  • Funny that, right on the podium, it says

    "Mirage"

Exactly what a bubble is no?

  • Peter needs to replace Barney Frank!

  • @JoeDebMV Send Barney Packing!

  • @JoeDebMV Barney Frank, is that fat ass speaker

  • @JoeDebMV Ron Paul just replaced him. So we are making progress!

  • I remember this now! ;)

  • good point, lol.

  • How? The US public requires borrowing to pay the interest on the existing debt. The Fed will still print Treasuries but will have to raise interest rates to get people to buy them., thus increasing the supply of dollars at redemption.

  • Who got the money to by them?

  • Who would by them at any price? The communist US government is about as solvent and functioning as Russia was in 1984. Treasury notes are worth even less than federal reserve notes.

  • insolvent I would say.

  • no u are wrong coz all this stimulus and borrowing from the reserve(private bank) will put it down more only when spending is done will it rise.

  • Fallow Jim rogers to singapore. He's has it right

  • I dont see how anyone can think this man is full of it.He is obviously one man who understands exactly what has been done to us.But I do understand the denial.Noone wants to see the elephant in the room.Maybe we need to wake up before it is too late.If it isnt already

  • No only denial is the problem, some people are too stupid to see reality

  • Yep. This is the world today. Sheer madness

  • GDP = C+I+G+(export-import) - in America, everything except for I (saving) is pretty high. In another word, the US $14T economy is driven by consumption, gov't deficit and imported goods, not by saving, manufacturing or export. Americans don't save anymore - they all have negative savings, $20-30K in credit-debts + long-term loans like automobile, college, in addition to their huge mortgages.

    just watch the remaining videos.

  • Imports are a negative - they don't "drive" GDP.

  • ok, "characterized". Are you happy?

  • Noone denies the significance of the U.S. economy. The point is that (1) American consumption is unsustainable, largely because it is debt-driven; (2) American consumption comes at the expense of present foreign consumption, hence the trade deficit. As an extreme example for (1), a beggar could previously get a loan to buy a $1m sportscar, thus adding $1m to GDP. Obviously that's flawed.

  • is your IQ negative or something?

  • And what goods are they producing for export?

Dream on buddy. America is fucked.

  • Are you in reality? Examine what GDP is and how the numbers are formulated, to include inflation rigged inflation figures, and then revisit your stance on our GDP.

  • Furthermore, we are a net consumer economy with a small and shrinking productive base. Our debt as an export to be proud of is a fallacy; our debt is worthless and our creditors are slowly figuring it out and are trying to figure out how to dump us as they receive devalued dollars in payments. The rally in the US dollar will end as soon as the flight to perceived safety is over (IE deleveraging is over) ad we are in for a collapse in the dollar and rapid price inflation of consumer goods.

  • a product?

that's funny, I always thought selling a bond to china meant borrowing money from china. how's that adding to the GDP? except of course that you can inflate the GDP further by spending the borrowed money.

what you're looking for is the capital account. which happens to be negative for the US too, but the current account is more relevant in this situation anyway.

  • although at least China has some savings and won't have to print ridiculous amounts of money.

  • China is in the crap too. many moved from rural areas to cities where they worked in factories. If the US stops buying a lot of goods those factories will close and those people become reliant on the govt.

It is more like the Asians plundered the island to feed the fat American and now the economy has to regrow. They gave up some of their self reliance and national interest.

Interesting to compare the 1870s Long Depression for how the US had a rail boom and the Chinese response at the moment.

  • God he's good. Compare this guy to the two socialist shills Obama and McCain...man we are in deep shit!

  • "the 5 chinese would be better off just kicking the american off the island" That was harsh.... but I guess that's what's happening now.

  • hay hay hay. ;D

    whoa!!!!!! good vid! vQ

  • Why dishonest and "stupid" people are better SELF-ORGANIZED, than honest and smart ones?

  • He's speaking to a bunch of bankers ? I wonder how many in the audience were shifting in their seats going, "Do I have to listen to this? In the 1800's we borrowed money, built infrastructure and produced exportable goods? Duh." And I'm like : "Evidently you need to be reminded." Sit tight, there's more.

  • hey, Mr Plumber!

I hope you enjoy Mr Schiff. He is the one of the few that dare tell things as they really are :)

    --

  • They should FIRE Bernanke and Paulson, and have people like Peter on the helm of US economy.

  • great lecture...thanks for posting

  • brilliant.

  • Every nation that wanted to expand or have extra power always had some kind of technology or extra power. And that extra power was slaves. Since 1759 when the first oil well was drilled in Pennsylvania, the US started going toward OIL BTU slavery. We started trading our slaves for dark liquid horsepower, which is much more powerful. Every nation had slaves and we were one of the first to abolish it via the civil war. And the slaves we bought were from Blacks who enslaved others and sold them

  • Actually, the US was one of the last nations to abolish slavery, and only one of two to do so violently. All other nations(aside from haiti) managed to give it up without hundreds of thousands of deaths.

  • We are all going to be held accountable, there are no INNOCENTS.

US has been a WAR ECONOMY FOR centuries, it stared off like that, stole the land from the Indigenous Peoples, then enslaved Africans to build theri stolen Nation.

You benefit like we all have benefitted from the injustices, educate yourself!

John Pilger is a great place to start, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy and "The New Rulers Of The World" -"Stealing A Nation" google videos

  • When the Founding Fathers created this Republic the bastards had SLAVES@!

who bt the way were the first commondities to be traded on WALL STREET -DIE WALL STREET!

  • in the ass

  • this guy is good!

  • This guy is very good. Jima Rogers and Marc Faber lookin good too.

  • Indeed.

  • moron

  • From Ezra Pound to Eustace Mullins (Secrets of the Federal Reserve) to Peter Schiff...

  • Obama is Trilaterial Commission, Joe is chaiman of CFR, their job is to make sure the "third world" does not develope, so they can keep resources for the "white nations",ie

THE WESTERN NATIONS, they use NATO to enforce that policy, so the people of Africa, China, Indonesia +, spend all day looking for their daily bread literally. They live on a $ a day! The problem with you is you are a ignorant RACIST, which is why the US is sinking like the TITANTIC! via WHITE SUPREMACY philoshopy worldwide

  • lol you think china wants anything to do with black people!?

  • China has currently the most investments in Africa, and the number is still growing. So yeah, they want to have something to do with black people. The color isn't important. It's about the development. Africa is rich is resources but poorly developed, if someone would invest in those strategic territories, the currently so called developed world would have to pay the Africans much more for many luxuries.

  • My comment was directed towards parkfranz.

  • yeah, like western "investment" in africa has done africa a lot of good in the past 200 years. china wants to exploit africa, just like europeans have been doing so for 200 years. the easiest way for foreigners to exploit africa is to use native african dictatorships to exploit the common african people. foreigners win, african dictatorships win, and african people lose. lo and behold, china is supportive of sudan, zimbabwe, and other kleptocracies.

  • Your schemes, WB & IMF of making self centered loans that were designed to benefit only the western nations that orignated the loans was never intended to do Africa any good. Now your Global Monetary Breakdown Crisis, you want to blame on other than your self. "As you sow, so shall you reap" The truth is the whole world is sick of "white" arrogance and Hubris. Your colonial days are ended forever! DIE WALL STREET DIE!

  • I wish only white people were arogant. Unfortunetly this is not the case. You have to be totally stupid not to notice how arogant are most of political leaders in Africa. Of course great harm was done to Africa by white people but for last 50 years or so they were left on their own (mostly). This however didn't lead to substantial positive change. On the contrary most of the nations have much bigger problems.

  • U.S has had 232 yrs to fuck up their country, yet you say Africa a whole continent after being raped by western nations for 500 yrs, millions of their ppl killed and enslaved which = depopulation, then the west spreads IMF & WB loans with strings attached and the WHO spreads AIDS, they should be up and running in 50 yrs? your not stupid, your dishonest.

  • Ha, left alone for 50 years? Rhodesia anyone? I don't think you could discount the ravages of imperialism even if they were "left alone" in recent history. The diamond trade today takes more than it gives to Africa. Even if you don't want to buy into the blood diamond image in it's entirety it is certainly evident of great economic disparity, again due to defunct economic systems that without the aid of militant imperialism in the past would not exist in the present.

  • btw educate yourself, study the indonesian repression of the black people of iriyan jaya.

  • Peter is a brilliant man, thanks for putting this on ut!!!

  • Only an idiot or pyramid scammer could disagree with what Peter has to say. So either you agree with Peter or which are you?

  • Peters had a bit to drink im sure.

  • Yeahh! You have right! Small vodka shot before thepresentation? :)

  • In 2006? That crowd was either in complete shock at his insane chutzpah...or ignoring him and checking their Blackberries for messages.

  • Funny, just like Ron Paul, Peter doesn't read his notes if any. It's because he knows the issues by heart.

  • Thats because its such a strong message, a real message not some fanatical bull crap, its a message of logic, less spending, more founding principles.

  • Aye.

  • This guy is a prophet and like other prophets he will be ignored by the mainstream.

However, once the dam breaks they will wake up. This video will be studied in schools of finance for the next 30 years as a case study in how stupid we were.

  • Peter Schiff for president (of USA)
