@daishi2442 I know that. The SCAR-L made me think of the SCAR-H. I then wondered what the SCAR-H fired and decided to ask youtube. Thanks for being difficult.
I've been on a side folder rifle kick as of late. I an in the middle of modifying 4 different rifles into side folders this year. Crazy! Scar comes that way out of the box, and it's an awesome feature.
Who said I got rid of it? I miss her, because the barrel assembly has been at the machine shop for MONTHS, getting chopped down from 16" to 10.0". Be prepared for some GW Videos featuring a SCAR-L CQB in the near future. :-) Thanks for the concern good buddy!
is it just me , or is this SCAR really startin to get better everyday., i didnt care for em at first, but i think its gonna be my next project.., and with that surefire mag in there your talkin bout a whole lot of boom in a tiny package.., how bout this beauty in select fire and with the 100 round surefire.., ill take that for my IAR, to hell with the HK
@MultiSr16 meh. i was going to buy one but after playing with one it was kind of a let down. so i bought a benelli m4 instead and im in love with it. i prefer my ar15 carbine with SOPMOD stock. once you use a SOPMOD everything else kinda blows in comparison. in my opinion anyway.
@88warwolf cool., dont really understand how you were lookin for an assault rifle and ended up buyin a shotgun, but hey whatever u need.., and yea i love LMT stocks too but the SOPMOD designation while currently mostly seen with m4 style guns, refers only to theparts that can be placed on the adjunct picatinny rails., sopmod stands for special operations pequlliar modifications so "SOPMOD" kits can and will be fielded with the SCAR as well.., btw Tangodown makes a scar stock that uses AR stocks
@88warwolf i like the ACS better then the sopmod as the engagedment lever is shrouded. and i still dont get why your comparing the scar with a benelli m4 ?? you do kno thats a shotgunright and not an m4 ?? hahah., and i kno the SCAR is not a letdown, anything good enough to be with army airborne battalions is good enough for me, they usually do a good job at Aberdeen PRoving grounds weeding out the Kia's from the Corvettes
@MultiSr16 i didn't compare it. i was going to buy a scar or ACR but decided all the new 5.56mm stuff isn't any better than the existing ar15 platform so i bought the benelli.
@88warwolf if it wasnt better then uncle sam wouldnt have started to make the switch., i can promise they wouldnt get rid of tens of thousands of m16/m4 riflesif there wasnt a difference
@8ball29 In all honesty, I never did any of that shit either, we had vics and FROGsuits. But yeah I can see in the civilian world common super lightweight gats my disagreement only stems from my usage of the word "heavy" starting at a much later weight (9lb+ empty)
@8ball29 A M4 does not weigh 6.4 as issued. Optic, mount, 15s, and light source are all issued items. Maybe a bare bones M4, but that would be considered light weight. My first issue M16A2 weighed 7.78 lbs, and I would not classify that in the heavy weight class, that is considered standard. I would personally consider heavy guns as SAWs, M1As, FAL, G3. Those are heavy.
@XFoolXProofX surefire doesn't seem to be selilng them direct but bravo company carries them (they're out right now) but i found a place called everyflashlight com that has them in stock. $130.00
@darkdoom645 Yes, but, the mag well extends about 1 inch lower on the magazine. As you can see, the surefire 60 and 100 rounders flare out right at the Ar-15 and SCAR mag well, making it so it wouldn't fit in a tavor.
@MarksmanLeBlanc I know that the SCAR L is chambered in 5.56 or the .223 and the SCAR H is chambered in the 7.62 or .308. The L means light and the H means heavy.
@MarksmanLeBlanc wikipedia*org/wiki/FN_SCAR has a good overview over the different versions (check the info box on the right for specific characteristics such as caliber or barrel length). for further information I recommend a look at the references and external links (especially the manufacturers site: fnherstal*com/index*php?id=182)

@Koumrian it is actually lighter than the ar carbine, it just looks bigger. and that is hypocritical saying you think it is heavy and then wanting a .308 version
@HeroHasGuns Really? My logic was that at least the .308 shoots a bigger round for the extra weight. Although you can carry more .223, IDK I never shot it so I was just speculating. SCAR does seem like a really good rifle platform to me though.
@08EB08 Yeah HK is pretty awesome, they took the already great AR platform and made it almost perfect, chambered in .308 and with the flat top rail system and quad rail fore guard. I think it even comes standard with a free float barrel too. SCAR seems like a really good platform, but to me it just seems kind of bulky compared to the .223 AR rifles, with the .308 at least you have have a bigger round for the extra weight. But thats just my speculation.
@g3seifert I kind of agree man. Although i dont think the 5.56 is garbage, I just prefer the 5.45 but the Scar 17 is badass. Wish they weren't so damn expensive.
@KalashnikovKid762 why do you want the 5:56? 7.62x51 has so much more power for penetration! Has a mans recoil. deff do the job to knock a man down fast!

Just want to know as I'm pretty new to SCAR's and SFCR's. Is the SCAR L a smg of Assault rifle?
polskpojjkeh 7 months ago
@polskpojjkeh in order for it to be classified as an SMG it would have to fire a pistol calibe round, 5.56 is not for pistols so.....
macoff12GT 7 months ago
@polskpojjkeh
The SCAR-L is not an neither an assault rifle or smg as both of those need a selective fire function.
The SCAR-L fires an intermediate round and is a tactical carbine.
SMGs fire pistol rounds and are selective fire.
