I love this. I don't have "The Fury" so this is the first time I've heard this. I think the sax goes brilliant with the synth, truly stunning !! I think Gary looks gorgeous in white, even better without the red dickybow. And the faces he pulls...........
Erm no. It's because even if Radio 1 had been consistently play-listing Numan, they wouldn't have played Miracles as it's so petulantly defeatist and miserable in tone.Though it is a good song, it isn't a single. Tricks should've been released instead.
erm yes .thats your opinion albeit a wrong one. miracles is a class tune and deservedly so it became a single. the bbc have been slamming numan for years but finaly now they are beginning to recognise him and give him credit.every song on that album should have and could have been a single.you know little if nothing about anything so keep your erm`s to yourself thx
@gammarod Radio 1 did play it. Steve Davis played it, then appologised to listners. Agree it is a good song but not single material due to it being unmarketable. (which is why it fared so badly in the charts).
It's great to see Numan finally getting the recognition he deservse. Shame Radio 1 still don't play list his modern songs though. fb group anyone??
@gangstaginamontana Yes I totally agree with you. I have a red coloured 12" vinyl copy of this single. I embraced this period, even though alot of Numan fans, have not, but this one in particular gets several airings a year. It certainly would get a placing in my list of fav tracks from Gary.
though Gary seems to be ashamed of this video, I remember in a newsletter from the 80s a fan asked if there were music videos for Call Out The Dogs and Miracles and Gary's reply was "Call Out The Dogs. Yes". Also Gary said he wasn't including all the Numa videos on Shadow Man because there were some he didn't like (but he included Emotion(!)
Incredible song. You can hear such conviction in the line "My God, just look at me." Most claim that Numan is robotic. IMO, he's the most human performer in music and this song shows why.
You would have expected change from a tenner to make this video. I am a big fan and have stayed loyal and watched 5 dates on the fury tour. This wasn't his finest hour and he knows it because this song has barely resurfaced at any level. Give me Pure and jagged any day.
cool i never knew this exsisted, its quite a decent video too, why was this not on shadow man? its much better than some of the other video's on that compilation!!!
Hey, thanks very much for putting this up. Why would this not go mainstream? It is one of the best Numan videos I have seen. This is the first time I see it.
Where did you find this?!?! I never knew a video existed for this track - do you know the background behind this? It wasn't on any Numan video compilation as far as I recall. Thanks for uploading it. Cool :-)

The extended version is even better, but yes this is one of the best ballads he ever wrote, if not the best one.
gangstaginamontana 2 years ago 10
@gangstaginamontana I didn't know there was an extended version of this. What album is it on? The Fury I have don't have it.

@electric7508 The Fury also had an Extended release of the entire recording.
