yeah. i have watched 2ne1 tv and saw this performance. they have complaints. CL's voice is not in good condition but still she can sing it. and it is really hard to switch to falsetto .. are you guys can sing while your throat is aching ?? i doubt it. :)

the falsetto of the pretty really suit the mood of the music. its acoustic guys thats why she sang it like that. it really sounds good rather than what she usually did on their other performances. :))

Try singing her part and then comment that she did bad. And she said before singing the song that she had a tough time warming up. Anyways hats down to Minzy and Cl. Loved their parts so so so much. And loved the overall unplugged acoustic version <3

CLs part is the hardest because its full of emotions. In order for you to deliver it perfectly and give impact to the listeners. you need to really have a good voice control and she just nailed it here.. very raw .. perfect for the acoustic session..

I wish people would stop branding Minzy as just "the dancer" or "the maknae" because yeah, she is an incredible dancer and also the youngest, but she is so much more than that. Minzy is a real tripple threat and I can't wait to see some more solo and collab stuff from her. I don't know if YG is trying to hold her back to hone her skills and then have her explode onto the scene when she gets older or whatever, but I'm SO looking forward to what she does in the future. Go, Minzy, go!<3

i do agree with the comments here.. Minzy did a great job. Her voice was so distinct and clean. She had the cleanest vocals in all 4 of them in here and Dara comes next. Bom's voice as usual is good but there's too much tension on it when the high notes comes. And i just don't understand why CL have to turn to Falsetto voice in the PRETTY words when she can belt it perfectly.

I would love to download this, I was so proud of Dara when i heard her sing. Hats off to Minzy thou she killed it out shinned Bom which is hard to do; since Bom's voice is powerful. They are really talented and i can't wait until they come to corrupt American and make everyone fall in love with them.
@magiccq91 I agree. Minzy got the short end of the stick in the last album so I'm glad that she got more parts in this album. I actually think that with this mini album, everyone's lines were pretty equally distributed for the most part with the only exception being Dara in Lonely, but that's a slow song so it was expected that she would get less lines but highlighted. It's not as equal as their 1st mini album, but definitely more equal than their last album so everyone should be pleased.

@finnister- this is because its an acoustic theme. the sound and the instruments should harmonize to create an emotion out of the song. shouting (which is what CL is doing on TV performances for ugly since its a pretty much like a rocky song) is not a best option if your using acoustic sessions.

The thing I've always liked the most about Blackjacks is that they're not afraid to give criticism to 2ne1 and point out their flaws. I love this version.
The only parts I didn't like are when CL said pretty.
Only because I was expecting her to burst out with it, and it was so little.
Also, I didn't like Bom's parts.
But that's only becuase I honestly can't stand her voice at all. (just my opinion)
I can't wait for Minzy to get a solo.
She deserves it.

I would love to download this, I was so proud of Dara when i heard her sing. Hats off to Minzy thou she killed it out shinned Bom which is hard to do; since Bom's voice is powerful. They are really talented and i can't wait until they come to corrupt American and make everyone fall in love with them.

@magiccq91 I agree. Minzy got the short end of the stick in the last album so I'm glad that she got more parts in this album. I actually think that with this mini album, everyone's lines were pretty equally distributed for the most part with the only exception being Dara in Lonely, but that's a slow song so it was expected that she would get less lines but highlighted. It's not as equal as their 1st mini album, but definitely more equal than their last album so everyone should be pleased.

I think they all did well here. Minzy's voice stood out the most to me though. I think it's high time that girl gets a solo or at least the spotlight in a song. Her voice is awesome. TBH, I didn't really like how CL did falsetto for all the "prettys." There's this awesome buildup and then ... it just kind flops and dies when she whispers the pretty. *just an opinion*

@finnister- this is because its an acoustic theme. the sound and the instruments should harmonize to create an emotion out of the song. shouting (which is what CL is doing on TV performances for ugly since its a pretty much like a rocky song) is not a best option if your using acoustic sessions.

@chariz2011 The falsetto she used was good for the first couple of prettys since it was only acoustic at that point ... but once the drums and electric guitar kicked in later, it definitely called for her to belt out. I still think this version is awesome. I just wished she had sang it in full the second half of the song. -shrug-

@finnister You have to know the back story for this. It was recorded in a warehouse for a band that were some friends. It was a "one shot recording" meaning no retakes, even for mess ups. They didn't even practice since they didn't know they had to do this till that day. CL didn't hit that high note because they wanted a softer version and they had a noise complaint from neighbors while preparing for recording. (Cops even showed up on their way out). This was shown on 2ne1tv season 3.

@finnister She was having a problem with her throat and voice, but they only had one take to get this whole thing done. if you watch 2ne1 TV she notices it when she's warming up. Just bad timing for the perf.

Okay...To me being a blackjack is loving 2NE1 as a whole and you CAN have a bias, but bringing down another member while spazzing about your bias is unacceptable and not Blackjack material. @NarutoLoverify I agree! I hate it when people say I have to love all the members to be a BJ. I became a blackjack because I loved 2ne1's music, not their members. People have different personalities. I can't force myself to like someone who's just really not my cup of tea, no matter how much I try because that would make me delusional. I personally don't love all the members, but I accept them and I think that's what matters. Just accept the members that sing the music you love and don't bash.

The thing I've always liked the most about Blackjacks is that they're not afraid to give criticism to 2ne1 and point out their flaws. Most other fandoms I've hung around in are too blinded to even admit to a single flaw in their idols. But the thing I hate most about Blackjacks is that that criticism can often be mistaken as hate or turns into hate and we end up fighting with each other and either intentionally or unintentionally bash the other members in favor of our bias.

Dara and Dara's fans always brings trouble to 2ne1 fandom. Always trying to praise her to high heavens when most people know that her voice is weak and they always processed her voice. Minzy is the one that always impressed me when they do acoustic like this. She has a steady and a very heartfelt voice. Her voice sounds better than the album when they do this acoustic thing.
