@london1817 a "plough out" is when you remove a section of the stringer with a router to create a pocket for the stair tread to join into. It creates a wood joint similar to a mortise and tenon.
We don't. All stairs are made from comonents done for each project ( custom ), there is many different designs. That's why. But if you are interested we can deal with any client overseas online ( we are based in Ireland - European Union ).
ALways try to use steel instead of timber - steel is stronger, much easier to design, precise., finally you are not wasting forests - they grow hundreds of years. and you want have any hassle casued by rotten timber in your structures.
Ha ha! The right way? No landing, too much slope on treads, no middle stringer. I guess at least you are trying but you might want to humble yourself and change the title :) I have seen 1,000 videos on Youtube that say "stairs, the right way" and not a damn one is right. :) I guess I will finally have to put this to rest and make a video. By the way, when your uncovered sloping treads get icy you will find out the hard way why they should not slope :)
did I hear him say that the thread was going to lean a bit down so the rain will drip forward? is that the excuse for cutting the stringer wrong...lol
crap, I hate it when your done with a project then you realize you did it wrong. I rented this house to an old lady...I hope she doesn't slip or what not!

Sorry they are being so hard on you, But it's true. You should have a Landing
outside the door. Then the steps.Also, a railing system for anything over 30"
of grade.

@london1817
It's Not too late. Could go back, pull the stairs down and build the landing. Thats
what I would do if one of my guys that work for me built something like that.
dreambuilders48808 1 year ago
@dreambuilders48808 Yeah ...that's true...would be cool to have a landing anyway.

Dangerous not to have a landing just outside the door before you go down the stairs, here code calls for 36 in. decking outside the door
