@jo11111 I'm sure he was dynamic and charismatic, but he also did time in the Tower of London and got in trouble several times for getting into fistfights. Treatment for ADHD can still allow someone to be dynamic and charismatic.
If you're a man of conviction you're going to get in trouble one way or another. He went to the tower of London for being a revolutionary. As many people with ADD are.
I took Adderalll once through a friend when I was 17 *coughs*, and in one night I was able to figure out what was wrong with my PC hardware. I took apart my computer for the first time knowing very little, put it back together, switched my modem into a different PCI port, and boom, my internet was working again. I did what the PC guys couldn't basically lol. But the next day I felt like CRAP! My whole body ACHED, I never took it again. How do you feel after your Adderall wares off?
I am on a kick of reading historical novels set in the Middle Ages. One thing I'm struck by is how many of those knights, etc. seemed to have ADHD! And heck, maybe even Mary, Queen of Scots. (As for her tormentor, John Knox, I'm guessing some serious anterior cingulate gyrus issues. LOL!)
As you say, sometimes their ADHD worked for them, sometimes, well, they lost their heads!
It just cracks me up to hear people say that ADHD is a "modern invention."
Your ancestor sounds like a dynamic and charismatic person. Is that something that should be treated?

@jo11111 True, but there are more socially savvy ways of doing it...and people with ADHD have difficulty knowing these "unwritten rules".

@ADHDRollerCoaster "Lost their heads"! Literally!! I could see Mary, Queen of Scots having some ADHD characteristics, from what I've read about her.
