  • Hey Bruce just wanted to let you know I did my art assignment using this piece, and got full marks... so yeah ^_^ kudos brother

  • THATS IN HD ITS PERFECT

  • thats cool

  • neat

  • this is not art. look to roman and greek history for actual art.

  • @baphomet58

Because you are a respected authority on what is and isn't art.

  • Whenever i watch a magnet video, i always wonder if theres a magnet strong enough to attract all the iron in your blood to one spot

  • I have a calendar like this. Got it at The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in NY city.

  • why was this filmed in 110p

  • @TheHunter50cal It wasn't. It was filmed in 240p

  • @leestons have you seen the video quality (dont be a dick) you know it sucks

  • i want one of them

  • Dear santa

  • This is what happens when you divide by zero.

  • The real questions is "fucking magnets, how do they work?". But seriously, very cool man, the works of art which are scientific and tactile are the best, imho. Keep it up! :)

  • I wanna make it :(

  • the HD hurts my eyes

  • that is awesome, dude u rul

  • This is sweet! I would want one of these in my room :D

  • Want.

  • These super powered magnets are so strong that you can't pull them apart by hand, unless they are rubber coated like mine are. These were reverse engineered from alien technology. Actually you can buy them online if you google rare earth magnets. Be cautious though, these ain't yo daddy's magnets.

  • @BruceGray Emm... there is a physical limit to how powerful permanent magnets can be. And we can make those already. Why would you need alien tech? xD

  • @BruceGray Haha reversed engineered by alien technology!!! You made my day!

  • @BruceGray Actually, they are. He takes apart broken hard drives. Also, I could make this with the right tools.

  • @BruceGray

...REverse engineered from alien technology? lol.

  • @BruceGray alien technology? is that sarcasm cause its hard to get that in text

  • Fucking magnets, How do they work?

  • where do you get those magnets from?

  • where do you get those magnets from?

  • @suavezo4u Dont get them... There is no reason to and they are actually deadly if you do not handle with care. Some magnets can "jump" over 1m with speeds enough to crush your bones with ease.

  • It looks like that instrument from Star Trek in the 60's!

  • fucking magnets how do they work?

  • now THAT is what i call modern art :)

too bad im just a college kid .. but if i was a rich guy.. i would love to have this kind of art at my place ..

    Keep up the good work..

  • This is true modern art

  • This could be motorized to shake it and show the magnetic connection more clearly... besides... movement is very cool.

  • I had to do an assiment in art class about that once

  • that is sooo epic

  • Magnetism in its pure form. I like it!

  • Can create a kind of car suspension whith it.

  • wow that a powerfull magnet

  • awesome :))))))))))))))))

  • that is fucking awesome

  • Good IDEA man !

  • nice! thank you!

  • what is that for?!

    :-|

  • @Rawk10 err... I'm gonna go on a limb here and say it's a sculpture like it says it is in the title... >_>

  • that is what i call art.

  • lol

  • cool i just tried it

  • Hi, very nice. Where did you get the round metal ring?

  • How exactly did you attach the wire to the magnet?

  • The magnet isnt attached to the wire. The string is tied to a piece of metal. The magnets are attachted to the wheel, if the magnets were on the string, all the magnets would stick together

  • For us people with lower budgets, any suggestions on how to make this, perhaps a short demo with easy to find products so we may make scientific art?

  • Well, that is really impressive, nice work mate :)

  • I made the first Suspension sculpture for a show on magnetism at the Gallery of Functional Art in Santa Monica in 1993.

    Cheers!

    Bruce Gray

  • wow thats really cool

  • Dear Bruce Gray,

I am a sculptor from Hungary, who love your work. I'm writing my PHD-essay now, and I choosed the levitation, and the magnetic area. So, may I ask you, which years did you start to make the first magnetic "suspension". Because I need precise date.

    Yours sincerely,

    Tamas Komlovszky Szvet
