My dad got a similar one for me for christmas but it's a different brand, he bought it from ebay and it flies poorly. Bad radio connection and crashed it. I broke one wheel off of it on impact but now I am going to tell my old man to get them from X-Heli. :)

A real CH-46 doesn't have multiple rotors on top of each other, so why does this model do? I've asked this before and having poor tail rotor theories as reply but that's not what I'm asking. Why does the model chopper have 2 rotors ABOVE each other. ON TOP of each other. That is TOTALLY unrelated with the tail rotor. To give it more torque? That would only make sense.

@limmylimm They call this setup coaxial. The top set of rotors spin opposite to the bottom set. For single rotor models this does solve the torque problem, removing the need for a tail rotor.

As for why they chose to use coaxial rotors for this model, I'd imagine for simplicity of design and stability.

Historically the twin rotor layout of the Chinook and the Boeing Vertol (which by the way is what this model actually is) was for sheer lifting power, not to fix torque problems.

Hi Dave, I love the looks of this machine and its on sale at my favorite shop too. May I ask about this machines lift capabilities? Im looking for a stable first person view flier, something thats capable of lifting a small camera and transmitter, all together about 50 grams atr most.

And the walkera transmitter sure feel good dont they? Ive got a 4-3b heli with the 2402 transmitter from them, feels good on the thumbs.

How loud is it? Will it just startle the cat or will it wake the neigbors?

I just graduated from 3 channel (2 totaled heli's) to 4 channel heli's. This guy is good, right out of the box, steady flight! i still need to work on my trim-half the fun. I was looking for a video that explains the controls of the transmitter. The instruction book they give sucks, nothing about what all those controller switches do.

Cool.. On that first landing I see you obviously have the blades tightened down tight as they did not move at all out of extended position when the engine stopped-- thats what I do to kill the blade strike. I also use pvc pipe to make new blades.. I have jumped,rappelled and spie rigged out of the perfeclly working real ch 46 in my recon days in the Marines.. I love this RC helo just for the memories.. ThankX
