i havent played this since i rented it from blockbuster, soon after it came out, and when Nintendo released MP2 on Virtual Console, i was pissed that it wasn't the first one, mainly because i played almost all the other MP games enough to remember them well, plus they were all more recent. I guess emulators are my only option, but i don't have another USB controller to play against my brother with. *sigh*

I'll admit I used my palm when I played this game. Yet, finding that method not super effective at getting the shy guy to fly, my brother and I devised a "hack" if you will. We spun the controller around slightly then pulled the controller plug out of the socket why doing it. The game kept registering that we were spinning the controller wildly, and the shy guy flew around the room. I never did figure out what he said at the end, but now I know. Thanks for the video.

Anyone remember the game 'Pedal Power'? That 1 Player Game where you have to spin the control stick as fast as you can on a bike to power up a light bulb to stop Boo from reaching you? Man, that game gave me a humongous blister on my palm, alll the skin was ripped to the sides... Just like this game :P

So this was done on an emulator? I thought it was inhuman how fast you were cranking it if it was a N64 controller. Me and my friends hand's got MESSED up from this crazy mini-game. I even remember seeing a special glove in a game magizine made especially for these types of mini-games. It showed Mario's hand really red and swollen, lol.

I'm using the emulator now too. Slow down the frame rate, so that the game will be running at 50%. Then using my joystick, but can't get it over 63 (8.8 seconds) spins. Slower doesn't matter, when I do that and spin very hard it says that I haven't spin at all.

It is very great that you can do this. But stupid is that nothing is happening. I would have thought that something would happen. A big and unique price. But no...

the one annoying thing about tihis game was that more than half the mini games required you to rotate the joystick as fast as you can. i alwayse used my palm and eventualy my palm had a huge skin peel on it after playing. it killed!

Never understood the point of the Fly Guy, unless we get something if we can have it land back on the table. It's also a good example on why Marioparty 2 came with that notice of the hazardous pain about the Control Stick. Remember that notice?

I love Mario Party 1, it was the first ever game I played and I still love it. It's the best in my opinion, but Mario Party 2 was awesome with the costumes. Bring em back, Nintendo!

The best thing would be to mold a drill bit for a power drill that will rotate your control stick for you. You can probably get past 200 spins this way, but I never tried this.
