I've been considering making a Harley Quinn (from the Batman cartoons) costume, and I know I would need to add in the seam allowances to sew the differently coloured patches together, but I was wondering if there might be anything extra I would need to do drastically differently from this tutorial for the main body?

The tutorial's great, by the way - very detailed. Even if I don't end up making Harley's outfit, I'll probably end up making a catusit as it looks so interesting.

@FinalFallenFantasy - I don't think you need anything extra: once you've sewn the pieces together, they should just behave like one large piece.

Main thing worth pointing out is that since Harley Quinn has a central front seam you won't want to eliminate that seam.

Also, as I'm finding out, since you're a lady you'll probably want to shift the body section an inch or so towards the front, rather than having it centred on the legs, for a longer bum curve at the back.

I've been asked why I cut the crotch off at 5:14 and moved the cut-off bit to the other side of the suit. That's because I don't want a seam up the centre of the chest, and this is a standard way to eliminate it. Through the rest of the videos, I occasionally say 'If you didn't eliminate the centre front seam, then...' to highlight a point in the process where a suit which still has a centre-front seam behaves differently.
