  • the second view is trippy haha

  • This is an animation of a 38-40 flathead Cadillac V16. They attempted to make a less expensive V16 and drop the V12 all together but they only sold 500 of them in those three years. The 30-37 V16 had overhead valves and a much narrower V.

I have a 38 that needs an original motor.

  • Do a straight 4 animation

  • i think it will do 100MPG LOL

  • @mishotatishvili I think you meant .100 mpg.. :P

  • Bugatti got a pretty huge engine.

  • @Tarikace15 Bugatti Veyron doesn't have a V16, it has a W16.

  • @Rooniman volkswagon calls it a w16 but basically its a v16.

  • @ChipmunkChannel16 It's not basically a V16, it's a real W16, two V8s side-by-side.

  • @ChipmunkChannel16 W16 is nothing close to a V16. In a W16, you only have 8 cylinders per crankshaft.

  • imagine how long an inline 16 would be o.o

  • @Thegthatkillsall look at a cadillac sixteen those cars have v16 s

  • @Thegthatkillsall Depends on the displacement. I imagine if you made a 3.0L I16, you may be able to make it pretty small. It'd be smooth as all hell and sound bananas though.

  • @rjhall90 lol yep.

  • Pretty awesome to play this while listening to the BRM V16 in another tab

  • this is something like a crossplane v8 crank with a mirror in its other end?

  • This bears a strong resemblance to the BRM v16, is that the case?

  • @BikerRussell No, the BRM V16 is actually a H16. There is a great video on here that shows the setup. Put in "brm H16" and you should find the video.

  • @corvette6698512 From 1949 through 1955 BRM used the type 15 and type 30/mk2 were v-16 engines. Sometime after 1955 BRM used the H configuration. Im interested in knowing if either the type 15 or 30 has the same firing order as in this animation?

  • thats so cool, i love how they show the fireing order.

  • Now here's what I wonder...

    In many EMD locomotive engines, here's the layout: v-16, 45° vee, 2-cycle. The firing order is 1, 8, 9, 16, 3, 6, 11, 14, 4, 5, 12, 13, 2, 7, 10, 15.

So is that an evenly sequential firing order, or would you have two firing together? If you think about it, that would require a WEIRD crank to make it sequential.

    There's your next animation challenge!

  • realy nice job its the same my project v16 diesel but my problem is the firing order and the crank pin angles can anyone help me with that ?????

  • I agree

  • As well as Cat and Detroit.

  • Cummins also makes a V16 Diesel...

  • BRM type 15

  • yes it does exist....broadly used in diesel railway engines

  • Awesome design.

  • is it existed?

  • There are some older cars with a V16, like the Cadillac Sixteen. Theres also a new concept of it, who knows if it will ever be produced.
