Is your horse food oriented? How you get him to ignore the bucket is beyond my imagination! Did you use a reed at first? Also, I'm noting that most videos regarding the Resnick method are done in an area w/no grass. Our huge arena has grass, and mine CONSTANTLY grazes. Makes the liberty quite difficult. The only place w/o grass is the round pen unfortunately, which I know Carolyn is against. I don't know what to do. Thanks for any "opinions only".
@dturi Yes, she is quite food motivated. However, I make ignoring food as much a lesson as any trick, so it's fine if we're in an area with grass, as well. I have talked about it in a few articles entitled "Working Around Food" on my site, Cambria Horsemanship. Let me know what questions you have and I'll answer in a longer message (I can't write much on these comments :) ). I use the reed off and on but did use it at the beginning for more clarification. Send me a message with questions! :)
