Okay, the BuffyNerd must speak. They never worked out the way vamps are made very well. Either you are killed by a vamp and rise again in three days, or you are purposely turned, drink the blood of your sire, and become a very strong vamp with advantages of having support. Like the line of Aurelius (I think)the Master, Darla, Angel, Drusilla and Spike, were all really powerful and successful vamps. I don't think Joss had it all worked out at the beginning. Love him to bits anyway.
I was just rereading my previous comment a day later and it seemed like me and drusilla could be related. But we're not. (unfortunately)
