The first one is Chhota Khayal sung by KL Saigal in Raag Dev-Gandhar in Teen-Taal of 16 beats, at the beginning of his singing life in public before he entered films and the second one is the Bhajan rendered by him in his one of the first films-Puran Bhagat, under the baton of the music director of the film-the greatest ever MD of Indian cinema and father of Indian cinema music--Rai Chand Boral better known as just RC Boral.

KLS had exemplary control over sur(tone/voice)and laya(rhythm/its variations)at the same time i.e.in parallel since this requires splitting of mind one for laya/tal and other for sur doing justice with both at the same time,which is very difficult for even top class musicians what to talk of ordinary ones.That is why KLS was praised by top pure classical musicians of his time-Ustad Faiyaz Khan,Ustad Abdul Karim Khan,who both met saigal and congratulated him for his divine singing in film-Devdas.
