This movie was amazing. I didn't know about it until a couple of years ago, I saw Hugh Jackman in it and decided to check it out (because he is an awesome actor) and discovered what is now one of my top 10 favourite movies.
This movie is not on Netflix...perhaps on the dvd's Netflix sends out? I only have the online streaming Netflix. I did watch the movie though and did not find it confusing at all. Everyone has strong opinions about it though. I liked it.

Jackman in modern time with his real wife looking for the cure to a disease she has (while she is writing the story) and does not succeed. 3. Jackman in the future, after becoming immortal (which he found trying to save his wife) going to a place with his dead wife to try bring her back to life (which was what she believed could save her).
Shame this film flew over the heads of so many viewers, truly epic stuff. I've only watched it once but that was enough to understand it. The visuals are incredible its hard to argue against that. The story is just wrapping up spiritual/philosophical issues with human emotion across three parallel timelines.
Oh My God. I watched this movie when it was in theaters. It is still known as the worst movie I've ever seen. My best friend was band from picking movies after we saw this. I always forget what the title is and call it "that movie, you know, the one with the floating tree bubble." Awful; I'm sorry you wasted your time. I reviewed this movie in my religions class and had to watch it a couple more time to truly soak in the plot. There is so much going on and so so so many undertones of religion (mainly Buddhism). this is a fantastic movie to make you think.
None of the three stories in this movie are explained or even finished: I had to fill in these blanks which made me annoyed. To the reviewers who loved it... how all it was was pretty with the theme of love, zero plot. I'm expecting better you guys, not shit like this.
About what you were saying at 1:58, maybe its similar to Schopenhauer's philosophy (an inspiration for Nietzsche's nihilism) which says that perfection is unachievable. We should not shoot for the stars because we will, in our human imperfection, fail in one aspect or another. It is not bad to have high hopes but at the same time we must not be expectant or grow attached to possibilities or possessions. We, condemned to make mistakes, must learn to expect mistakes and be happy with the good.

I didn't watch the movie, observing it, analyzing it, looking for holes, looking for the imperfections in plot etc. I just took it for what it was. To me, it was all imagery, emotion, and metaphor.

Instant stream Dead Snow. It's a Norwegian (you'll want the subtitles) that involves, I kid you not, nazi zombies with buried treasure. The special effects and green screens are a little weak, but if you want to give your brain a rest after the triple-plot shenanigans, you can avoid thinking and just enjoy Dead Snow.
The training is to be yourself like the water knowing full well that the pit itsnot the end ... its just a phase that we all go tru :)))) my vision abot the everithing:))

The whole spanish conquistador bit?
Its the book that Izzi's was writing.
The bald hugh jackman travelling through space plot, is really only the future of the doctor Tommy the neuroscientist.
That cure Tommy found for the monkey worked, but he couldn't get it ready to save his life. So the seed that sprouted from Izzies grave, he kept.
Tommy uses the cure to keep himself alive through all these years (finishing the book...........

@Astrologon Exactly. I personally adored this movie. Seen it 3 times over a few years, and bawled like a baby each time. Touches you very deep down to the core... and like said.. its not a movie about extensive plot and twists therein, but a movie that is filled with many upon many more moments of deep introspection and quostions that make one think of things that lead up to some of the largests questions and revelations about what life and universe in itself is all about.

@geppegep No, you see it after you start paying real attention and stop judging or thinking in words. Then the movie acts as the psychoactive component. Taking deep, slow breaths might also help to enhance the effect.

@vemu333 "Zen" is a meditative state of mind everyone is capable of reaching. That can happen at any time to anyone - even while watching a movie, which most Buddhists would have no need of doing. You also don't have to be christian in order to be able to pray or scientist in order to discover new technology. I'm not talking about ideology or religion here, just about mind and art.

@Astrologon I wrote this before I watched the movie. I was expecting to have no clue about what was going on, but I was surprised when I understood the whole thing at once. Great, movie, with some amazing visuals.

I was luckily in the perfect frame of mind to absorb this movie (fried out my fuckin' gills on gooooood sativa, son.) and it hit me in a thousand different ways at once
I didn't watch the movie, observing it, analyzing it, looking for holes, looking for the imperfections in plot etc. I just took it for what it was. To me, it was all imagery, emotion, and metaphor.
Fantastic movie, but you bloody right brainers just dunget

Instant stream Dead Snow. It's a Norwegian (you'll want the subtitles) that involves, I kid you not, nazi zombies with buried treasure. The special effects and green screens are a little weak, but if you want to give your brain a rest after the triple-plot shenanigans, you can avoid thinking and just enjoy Dead Snow.
