  • I have watched this video many times. I like the grins Tom and Rob have when the crowd cheers while they play their parts in Bugle Call Rag. How Jon patiently waits during the banter between Wasson and Crowe before and between the two songs. Crowe shaking his head in disbelief shortly after Jon starts Flint Hill Special. And watching Jon's little fingers as he plays. All three are amazing.

  • Very nice of J.D. to let those brothers up on stage. They are the future of this music.

  • These boys have a great future. They renew my faith in America's children.

  • yeah would of been nice to not have the mic right in the audience. I've been to many a concert and love Bluegrass too, but if someone is going to record a show there are Good ways and Bad ways with recording audio & video. But as we can all see theres the difference between a family video and a fan video and a fairly professional video.

  • "WHO'S PICKIN THE BANJA HEEEAA"

  • That's pretty funny. "J.D.'s gonna show you how to play!" Haha.

  • Great job. It is nice to see young people making real music!!!!

  • Amazing talent. a gift from God. I love their attitudes, it appears so natural. Love this .

  • These boys are going somewhere

  • Just to reiterate what some others have been saying, if you've ever been to a Bluegrass Festival, the audience is not silent, and isn't expected to be. If you go to classical music recital (or artists like Norah Jones, from personal experience), you expect a silent crowd. If you go to a Bluegrass band or a Foo Fighters concert you don't.

  • "Big mouth" might be mom or dad or some other family member. Best mind your manners, folks. Educate yourself on bluegrass culture before making ignorant remarks, as everyone else has said. Enjoy the environment and the experience as a whole! There so much pleasure to glean from this video!

"And do not get drunk with wine...but BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT..." Eph. 5:18

God bless you guys. Keep doing what you do for the Lord!

  • my dogs tail could keep better time than that one lady. they did a awesome job though.

  • if this doesnt melt your heart nothing will :)))

  • Yeah, If I was in the audience I'd be whooping and hollering also, encourging those young musicians, and if anyone cares to drop me like a bad habit, I got a size ten boot that will go right up his ass!

  • 3:23 Ricky gives the 'These guys are puttin one down" nod.

  • Who's pickin' the banjo here? Man, I could watch these guys all day long!

  • evidently the people gripping about the hollering and clapping have never been to bluegrass festivals thats what you do if you like the band if you dont they think you dont like there playing festivals are to have fun not sat quite like a lomg hair concert and give a few pats after they finish thats ridiculous to say dont holler and clap at a festival.

  • These boys are just awesome...good luck to them!

  • This is really cool. There is nothing wrong with a fan being enthusiastic and encouraging the musicians. Happiness and enjoyment are two very contagious and enjoyable emotions!!!! Keep it up fellas .... and Happy Birthday to JD! (posted 08/27/11)

  • Who couldn't love this??

  • LOL, wouldnt let JD take a break!

  • cool Gruß aus Germany

  • My gosh these kids are good.

  • I love the crowd noises in this vid. They are clearly having a good time AND listening closely. great crowd. great music

  • I think that J. D. Crowe was impressed. I hope that success does not spoil these young men, and they get to meet and play with Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, and the other greats.

  • I'm guessing that all the people complaining about the crowd noise are not performers. The performers main reason for playing is to entertain the crowd, they want to hear the crowd, it lets them know they are appreciated. I'm no professional but when I sing in front of a crowd I am flattered to hear the crowd holler their praise. If it bothers you that much, buy the CD and then you won't have to listen to the crowd, unless of course it's a live album!

  • Time to bury my banjo! Looks like the Wind Gap Stage! I missed this treasured performance!

  • The crowds obviously loves these youngsters!!!

  • you boys are just great and so much talent

You have a great road ahead of you.

JD Crow hes one of the best and my all time great Bill Monroe.

I live in Toronto and it is hard to get this kind of music live anymore.

I grew up with your kind of music when I was younger than you boys.

    Good luck.

  • @canvids1 We need more of this in T.O!

  • I wish that woman would shut her trap.

  • The United Stadians just don't know how to apreciate good music and be quiet.

  • @setezerocinco United Stadians??? learn how to use English if you're gonna be insulting people in it. I take it you've never been to a Bluegrass Festival. If you had you might realize that people go to them to have a good time and enjoy themselves. Sounds to me like she was enjoying the music and expressing her appreciation, along with the rest of the crowd. You just hear her more cause she was close to or even operating the camera. And guess what, it's what the performers perform for.

  • @setezerocinco United Stadians! lol Where'd you come up with that word? Actually we Americans show the performers how much we appreciate what they do by letting them hear us. Every musician I know WANTS to hear the crowd, it's what they do it for. Try actually going to a Bluegrass Festival, you'll find that everyone is there to have a good time and enjoy themselves, and they let it be known.

  • Interesting how everyone clamors over the banjo player and totally ignore the talent of the other two.... all three deserve recognition, actually, the banjo is the easier to play of all three instruments with the fiddle being the toughest to master.

  • a standing 0 at the end......loved it

  • You 3 boys are awsome, keep up the good job

  • Awesome your booys are great tommy. please let me know where i can get a copy of the cd

  • Great performance guys! Keep it up and break a leg at David Letterman's next Thursday.

  • Yes if that fool could have shut up we could have enjoyed it even more. What talent.

  • Thanks, and best of luck!

  • All three of those boys are pure genius (sp) !!! Would luv to see more on big brother with that fiddle, WOW he a badass !!!

  • That was awesome guys!!! Where is the dog! Lol, Have fun on Letterman, enjoy New York!

  • Letterman? :D Sooo happy for you guys! <3

  • JD said he believed he's an old midget! lol

  • Incredible! so talented! keep it up!

  • now thats some pickin !!

  • so into this i picked up my guitar and started jammin

  • Absolutely Fantastic! Playing with the great JD Crowe and the New South must have been an incredible experience! The Mizzone boys were definately up to the challenge! Wonderful job, everyone! ♫♫♫

  • YEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • As usual you guys are awesome!

  • magnifique !

  • and don't forget to post the Letterman gig, I can't watch it over here.

  • Is it too complex a thought for some to understand that while people are on stage playing, it is impolite and rude, self centered and self serving to war whoop-let alone constantly, during the music. There are others wanting to hear the music. Not a I can holler louder than you-listen to me drown out the music contest! The playing was great!!! The young man with the banjo is amazing!!! John

  • Great job guys, I really did enjoy the music.

  • I love it that he got to meet his hero, and better still, got to perform with him!

  • I love it that he got to meet his hero, and better still, got to perform with him!

  • @jiujitsubuddah I would give a thumbs up to your comment, but it won't let me!

  • OMG!!!!!!

  • This is a priceless video. Not to worry, The future of bluegrass is quite secure. I can only imagine what J D did as a follow up. :)

  • Awesome job!! The Moore Brothers -Jacob & Isaac

  • Sad that some members of the audience were whooping and making noise like a bunch of morons.

  • Forget Letterman, how about "I got to pick with Crowe"!!!

  • No one accusing them of playing the video at double tempo now huh, fake crying bitches?

  • This instantly cheers me up haha =) amazing talent!

  • I loved the first one (foggy mountain breakdown?) because it highlights the talents of all three boys. I am 15 and play the violin, I wish I could fiddle as well as him

  • @katemahalhk Flint Hill Special.

  • @lytrigian

    my bad, thanks

  • gtz !

  • Can't wait for June 28th! Fabulous performances!

  • I feel so proud of these boys and they're not even my kids! haha!! They're wonderful and deserve all of these wonderful opportunities for their hard work and love of the music and instruments :)

  • These boys are absolutely incredible, all three of them. Being a city kid, my exposure to bluegrass has always been extremely limited, but I've always liked the sound and I'm really glad I stumbled across this channel. I'll definitely be watching Letterman the night they're set to come on, because their talent is just mind-blowing.

  • you guys are so awesome! I'll be sure to watch you on Letterman!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when people play, other people should listen

  • @Jule553648 you obviously haven't been to many Bluegrass Festivals
