I have watched this video many times. I like the grins Tom and Rob have when the crowd cheers while they play their parts in Bugle Call Rag. How Jon patiently waits during the banter between Wasson and Crowe before and between the two songs. Crowe shaking his head in disbelief shortly after Jon starts Flint Hill Special. And watching Jon's little fingers as he plays. All three are amazing.
yeah would of been nice to not have the mic right in the audience. I've been to many a concert and love Bluegrass too, but if someone is going to record a show there are Good ways and Bad ways with recording audio & video. But as we can all see theres the difference between a family video and a fan video and a fairly professional video.
Just to reiterate what some others have been saying, if you've ever been to a Bluegrass Festival, the audience is not silent, and isn't expected to be. If you go to classical music recital (or artists like Norah Jones, from personal experience), you expect a silent crowd. If you go to a Bluegrass band or a Foo Fighters concert you don't.
"Big mouth" might be mom or dad or some other family member. Best mind your manners, folks. Educate yourself on bluegrass culture before making ignorant remarks, as everyone else has said. Enjoy the environment and the experience as a whole! There so much pleasure to glean from this video!
"And do not get drunk with wine...but BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT..." Eph. 5:18
God bless you guys. Keep doing what you do for the Lord!
Yeah, If I was in the audience I'd be whooping and hollering also, encourging those young musicians, and if anyone cares to drop me like a bad habit, I got a size ten boot that will go right up his ass!
evidently the people gripping about the hollering and clapping have never been to bluegrass festivals thats what you do if you like the band if you dont they think you dont like there playing festivals are to have fun not sat quite like a lomg hair concert and give a few pats after they finish thats ridiculous to say dont holler and clap at a festival.
This is really cool. There is nothing wrong with a fan being enthusiastic and encouraging the musicians. Happiness and enjoyment are two very contagious and enjoyable emotions!!!! Keep it up fellas .... and Happy Birthday to JD! (posted 08/27/11)
I think that J. D. Crowe was impressed. I hope that success does not spoil these young men, and they get to meet and play with Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, and the other greats.
I'm guessing that all the people complaining about the crowd noise are not performers. The performers main reason for playing is to entertain the crowd, they want to hear the crowd, it lets them know they are appreciated. I'm no professional but when I sing in front of a crowd I am flattered to hear the crowd holler their praise. If it bothers you that much, buy the CD and then you won't have to listen to the crowd, unless of course it's a live album!
@setezerocinco United Stadians??? learn how to use English if you're gonna be insulting people in it. I take it you've never been to a Bluegrass Festival. If you had you might realize that people go to them to have a good time and enjoy themselves. Sounds to me like she was enjoying the music and expressing her appreciation, along with the rest of the crowd. You just hear her more cause she was close to or even operating the camera. And guess what, it's what the performers perform for.
@setezerocinco United Stadians! lol Where'd you come up with that word? Actually we Americans show the performers how much we appreciate what they do by letting them hear us. Every musician I know WANTS to hear the crowd, it's what they do it for. Try actually going to a Bluegrass Festival, you'll find that everyone is there to have a good time and enjoy themselves, and they let it be known.
Interesting how everyone clamors over the banjo player and totally ignore the talent of the other two.... all three deserve recognition, actually, the banjo is the easier to play of all three instruments with the fiddle being the toughest to master.
Absolutely Fantastic! Playing with the great JD Crowe and the New South must have been an incredible experience! The Mizzone boys were definately up to the challenge! Wonderful job, everyone! ♫♫♫
Is it too complex a thought for some to understand that while people are on stage playing, it is impolite and rude, self centered and self serving to war whoop-let alone constantly, during the music. There are others wanting to hear the music. Not a I can holler louder than you-listen to me drown out the music contest! The playing was great!!! The young man with the banjo is amazing!!! John
I loved the first one (foggy mountain breakdown?) because it highlights the talents of all three boys. I am 15 and play the violin, I wish I could fiddle as well as him
I feel so proud of these boys and they're not even my kids! haha!! They're wonderful and deserve all of these wonderful opportunities for their hard work and love of the music and instruments :)
These boys are absolutely incredible, all three of them. Being a city kid, my exposure to bluegrass has always been extremely limited, but I've always liked the sound and I'm really glad I stumbled across this channel. You have a great road ahead of you.
JD Crow hes one of the best and my all time great Bill Monroe.
I live in Toronto and it is hard to get this kind of music live anymore.
I grew up with your kind of music when I was younger than you boys.
Good luck.
