Very nice, I had no idea the Europeans liked our golden oldies, and yes its sad many here dismiss them in favor of the new ( which all pretty much look alike ) While I like the following Mk V's as well it is obvious they cut back a bit on quality. Mk IV is the last of the true heavy weights for Ford motor company. While I drive a Honda to get along in this economy I am proud to say I have a big black 1976 Mk IV in my garage as well, for when I want true driving pleasure.
this in hungary? ( or somewhere in that area. ) i have much respect for those in europe who import and restore these old cars. i love these things. how hard are they to drive on those european roads, which can be somewhat cramped sometimes?
Beautiful work on the seats!! Amazing restoration. These Marks were all around when I was young and they are now almost completely GONE! Noone here in the US drives them, and that is sad. People are kookoo for giant war-trucks and Prius and BMWs. Great cars all, but nothing compared to the 70's Mark. I saved a 79 Mark V in deep red, that I will treasure always. Putting her back together will be a chore, but I will follow your inspiration. Nothing beats a Continental.
Hi, Have the same car just the aniversery edition its dove grey, i was wondering i you would no where i could get interior parts online like the plastic and the door panels? Im in the process of restoring my car but i cant find interior parts.
now just take a moment and drink all of this in...when american cars were loud and proud and didnt take shit off of no one ,,,it makes a statement just sitting still ...nothing like a gas guzzling , air polluting , american v8 ...all civic and prius owner's need not apply ...........and stay out of the way .......here comes Lincoln
Did this car come from Archer City TX? This car looks like my friends Grandpa's car that he shipped over seas in early 07'. Beautiful job on the restore!
My eyes are watering at the beauty, Sheer Opulence and Class! cash for clunkers what a MUG! Ive seen someone do the same cash scrappage sheme thing in the UK with a 79 Trans Am, Madness!
Beautiful restoration of that car!! Beautiful inside and out!! Owner should be extremely proud of that car! I had one same color, but it was a '73, and that car never gave me a bit of trouble! Again, fantastic restoration to a US MADE CAR!!!!!
again, outstanding restoration of that car, make me want my '73 back! And for the remark made about "Cash for Clunkers" evidently this person has not drove a fine car like this one!!
Looks like an outstanding restoration! Fine specimen with the deep dish mags, in sapphire! Looks like they did a good job on the vinyl top too; often when they're restored the quality of material isn't as good as the original. How did you get the original upholstery replaced? Was it still being made?? Also, did you consider going with the leather instead?? Very Nice.
The vinyl top is just like the original. Tha main thing is to find a material that stands UV radiation. Otherwise it gets dry very soon. I is a new material, made in Italy. The car wasn't a leather interior model, so the new owner wanted a plush interior instead. Also italian fine material. Very nice, looks like it is some kind of soft alcantara.
wtf is wrong with you? the cash for clinkers is so against the eco enviroment. making new cars makes alot more damage than driving an older one. you looser. plus, this was made by an american, somewhere in 1976, not by a jap or a kong.
My dad used to have a '76 Mark 4 Pucci edition, he bought it from my uncle in 1980. He had it for about 8 years. My memory of the car was when I was about 2 my mom took it thru the car wash and the sunroof leaked like a mofo!
Gorgeous!! Man, remember when I was a senior in high school, graduated, my grandfather had passed before that, he had a new Buick LeSabre, and she kept that car, gave me a card at graduation, opened it, and out fell the title to that car. I just about messed my pants when I saw that!!

@sbd650 The last of the no-holds-barred, unapologetic, uncompromised 460 equipped 11 MPG Lincoln Marks! Everything that followed was ho-hum!

Great looking car even with the federal bumpers. One of the nicest to come out of the USA.

Is that colour purple by the way?

No this is deep blue. The original colour was sprayed on the body.

I love the lines on the Mark IV. Gr8 song too. I was so sick in '76, but time has way of curing crazy. Enjoy the day!
