Hi, I left my nano in the bottom of my bag, my drink leaked and now the click wheel does not work at all :''( any suggestions ... I daren't take it to pieces in case i brake it even more :(
you can take the bottom white plastic plate off. Undo the the 2 screws for the matel plate. Then slide a piece of card between the back of the charge dock and metal case. Place parts back together and should work on its own as the card keeps everything contacted together. I did it with my daughters and still works now. Hope this helps.
Oh my god thank you! I went to the apple store and they told me to get a new one or trade it in and I'll get 10% off... Just did what you did and it's now working without anything else :-)
My friend asked me to look at his girl friend's nano.. I looked at a couple of videos and saw yours. Taking apart, making sure all the ribbons are in place and tight etc nothing.. put a charge cable in and wiggle it and it works kinda..lol so that is what she will have to do till she can afford another one :) thanks
Help! My clicker isn't working again. It didn't work once before but after a couple of hours it started to work. I just kind of played around with and stuff but I don't know if it helped. I also tried to clean the wheel cause it may be dirty. Now it's not working again. It's just stuck in it's place on the screen. Every other button works on my pod, besides the wheel! I tried to reset but it didn't work, I don't think I know how to! PLEASE HELP ASAP! My ipod nano green is 4th gen (chromatic).
@s00urpatch575 Hi, a test to do to see if it can be fixed or not is: Connect the charge lead, but not connected to power, while you are trying to move your thumb over the click wheel, bend the connector gently up and down inside the ipod and see if the click wheel starts to work again, if it does, there is a chance it can be quickly fixed.
@xxGrimxx12 I also repair iPods and have an idea that could help. Get a guitar pick and pry off the plastic piece on top of your iPod Nano. Under this plastic piece there is the actual switch that is controlled by the lock button. Play around with it, the lock button may not have been properly set on the actual switch. Message me if you would like some more detailed help.
@xxGrimxx12 Hi, it looks like the switch itself may have problems, there isn't really anything that can be done with that we don't think as those kind of parts can't be replaced.
I heard apparently theres something called the 'Pin' which moves and is the reason why it doesnt work. This has happened to mine and im heart broken. Any thoughts if this is correct ??
@XJordzz14X I haven't heard of a pin problem, there isn't really fix, there is a work around I have used in the past to get them working again, but it doesn't always work, so there may not be anything that can be done. Regards Leon Stacey
@LeonAtTPCS About an hour ago i FIXED actually FIXEDD my ipod ! I'm actually so proud of myself because its been in this state since last year. What i did was i undid the bottom of the ipod and got something to wedge inbetween the back of the ipod and the part which charges it. Works like a treat ! No problems so far ! I'm a 17 year old girl .. If i can i'm sure anyone else reading this can too !

@lktutzi It sounds like it may need a new click wheel circuit, I would let it dry out completely then see what happens.
