Thank you for bringing back my teen years. I remember that neon sign on Annie Street and almost getting blown back up the steps when I pushed open the door into the Dawn Club. The band didn't use amps, but it had a powerful sound. The last time I heard Lu Watters was in the early 50's when he was playing in a club in Emeryville. The band was not much on improviisation, but they had a compelling beat.
