@HKMP5BUYER you still driving that? any issues with it down shifting on its own to second gear every now and then at 60mph? Had to get my tranny reprogrammed several times before the issue was fixed and thankfully before it blew my engine up,

Do you live in India? I don`t know your rules,but here in Denmark, you first need to get your self a driving licens to a regular car, then you take education in driving a single truck, and pass test, then you take education in driving the single truck with a trailer behind it.- Wish you good luck

@manager7680 what education you have in India is not available in Europe....you must to learn a language here, is not english everywhere in Europe...and after you must to get in license driving for regular car, after truck+trailer, confirmed for transport , card for tachograph are many things....and the first thing is to be legal in Europe cost much money.

Jeg kører selv FM9, også med i-shift, altså automatgear. Der ER rent faktisk kobling i, selv om det er automatgear.

Volvo selv forklarer det med at i-shift faktisk bare er en manuel gearkasse, der er sat noget elektronik-ting på.

Der er ingen kobling på I-Shift gearkasser, elektronikken passer tandhjulene ind i hinanden i det nanosekund de står overfor hinanden, en sådan gearkasse er 75 kg lettere end en traditionel gearkasse - den her forklaring er det som vi fik på volvo fabrikken i Göteborg og vi så den sådan set også udstillet - den er langt mindre. Jeg ved Scanias opticruise automatgear er med en fodkobling og med automat skift, men er egentlig en traditionel geaqrkasse med kobling.

Du tar nok feil. I shift har tørrplate kobling slik som på en vanlig girkasse, men den er styrt av en computer.

Forskjellen på scania's Opticruise og Vollvo's I-shift er at Opticruise er bygget rundt en synkronisert girkasse mens I-shift er bygget opp rundt en u-synkronisert. I-shift er raskere fordi den trenger ikke vente på at girkassen synkroniseres manuelt men istedet kan den synkronisere turtallene direkte. Dette greier den vesentlig raskere en et menneske greier.

ja de hvide Scania`er R420, R480 og 2 R500 er indlejet indtil vi får nogle nye gule scania der er bestilt. De bliver brugt til MBA bla. da de tryksager oftest er oppe og veje 30 tons og derved er 2 akslet trækkere i underkanten.

ja vi har efterhånden en god vognpark på udland og udland/opsamling. Volvo FH13 400 og Scania 124 380 Streamliner. I starten da vi begyndt i 1995 havde vi 2 x FH 12 og lidt senere brugte vi bare de FL10`ere vi kørte i hjemme også indtil vi fik flere FH`ere. Lige i underkanten af hvad man syntes var sjovt ;-)

I work at the assembly-line for I-shift in Köping, Sweden. When we introduced the I-shift our retailers thougt that they could sell maybe 5.000 trucks with I-shift/year. Now we are making 100.000 i-shifts per year, and are pushing the limits of our assembly, and are supposed to make 135.000/year.. Its fun to see that our work is appreciated =)

no, the clutch on I shift lasts longer than on conventional gearboxes becasue it always couples on the correct rpm.

They probably did have some problems in the earliest versions which led to this rumour but it is very solid and lasting now.

Hello, yes the I-Shift works superb, can only recommend it. It`s better than Scania`s Automatic gearbox, shifts fastere especilly from forward to reverse..
