I want to buy this. I love that it actually has a search function, I hate browsing through long lists searching for a song.
I also hear the sound quality is the best on the market and the interface looks good, the touch screen seems good.
The only con is the price (but worth it, I guess) and I wish it was a little smaller and thinner. Something that would fit into the pocket easier. Don't really need a big screen anyway, just plan on using it for the music.

Can someone point me to an actual REVIEW of the Cowon J3?!?! These videos by GenerationMP3 suck. I couldn't care less how well someone is able to navigate the damn menus. Great, the GUI is good. Fine - now tell me something I don't know...seriously, this is just plain laziness.

You have an amazing sounding, FULLY customizable EQ and all people care about is having a priority in owning shitty 5th rate toys instead of caring about their music quality. @zwaardwalvisje I have the J3. It is a very quiet mp3 player. when I listen to it on the bus I sometimes have trouble hearing the music. The player does remember the last song you listened to before you turned it off. As for the shuffle feature I have not noticed it but I have not looked for it neither. Hope that helped
@1990PK1990 I don't know HOW quiet they are then, but at the moment I have a Creative Zen, people also told me it is too quiet but to me it isn't at all. So if the J3 is a bit like the Zen in terms of volume, but with even better sound, then that's great for me ;)
@zwaardwalvisje if you get yourself a nice set of noise canceling headphones you should be fine. Like I said, I have trouble hearing the volume when I am on the bus. But besides that it is a great player

of course you can. i havent got J3 yet but i have a S9. switch to explore menu and go into the folder where the mp3 file is, then you can delete it. copy your favourites to it directly from pc, just connect it to the usb hub
@ntrisKKT This is absolutely accurate. I hate it when people say FLAC files are necessary to receive the full experience of the music. It's not true. FLAC has bitrate levels that are undetectable on a human level. 320 is more than enough in terms of High Quality audio. People need to quit obsessing over FLAC and trying to have a huge e-penis and save their space and time by sticking to 320 mp3's.
@12345JJBB You can get the Cowon J3 in Canada for $205/$240/$315 for the 8GB/16GB/32GB versions respectively at NCIX, which is a Canadian based computer company with stores/warehouses in Vancouver and Toronto. The Cowon J3 is Comparable in price to that of an iPod touch, but IMO is overall better then one.
If i use this with an ordinary pair of headphones ( something that costs like 10-20$) will i still be able to experience the magic of cowon sound quality xD and hear a significant difference from a zune or itouch?
what's the material of the back of the player like?
I was thinking of getting a white one but i wonder if it's kind of rubbery then I'm afraid over time it'll change color from everyday use... (kind of like the wires on an ipod earphone)
I have a Cowon J3 myself, and the back is not rubbery at all. It's more of like a matte finish and will not discolor. I have the white one and it's nice :D
micro sd card? so could i get the the 8 gig and get a 16 gig micro sd and it'd be the same as having a 16 gig j3? I like the white better but it seems it only comes in an 8 gig and i currently have an iaudio 7 and it isn't big enough.
@Ruok98Reborn I believe the micro SD card you insert just adds to the storage capacity of the player, not replaces it. So an 8 gig J3 with a 16 mico SD card = 25 gigs. Don't quote me on that though, I'm not 100% sure.

Cowon is not about apps but about sound. In that terms Cowon's player are the best. No comparison to any mp3 player in the market.^^
Still yeah , a Ipod touch is good if you're not an analytic music listener.

of course you can. i havent got J3 yet but i have a S9. switch to explore menu and go into the folder where the mp3 file is, then you can delete it. copy your favourites to it directly from pc, just connect it to the usb hub

@ntrisKKT This is absolutely accurate. I hate it when people say FLAC files are necessary to receive the full experience of the music. It's not true. FLAC has bitrate levels that are undetectable on a human level. 320 is more than enough in terms of High Quality audio. People need to quit obsessing over FLAC and trying to have a huge e-penis and save their space and time by sticking to 320 mp3's.

@12345JJBB You can get the Cowon J3 in Canada for $205/$240/$315 for the 8GB/16GB/32GB versions respectively at NCIX, which is a Canadian based computer company with stores/warehouses in Vancouver and Toronto. The Cowon J3 is Comparable in price to that of an iPod touch, but IMO is overall better then one.

what's the material of the back of the player like?
I was thinking of getting a white one but i wonder if it's kind of rubbery then I'm afraid over time it'll change color from everyday use... (kind of like the wires on an ipod earphone)

I have a Cowon J3 myself, and the back is not rubbery at all. It's more of like a matte finish and will not discolor. I have the white one and it's nice :D

micro sd card? so could i get the the 8 gig and get a 16 gig micro sd and it'd be the same as having a 16 gig j3? I like the white better but it seems it only comes in an 8 gig and i currently have an iaudio 7 and it isn't big enough.

@Ruok98Reborn I believe the micro SD card you insert just adds to the storage capacity of the player, not replaces it. So an 8 gig J3 with a 16 mico SD card = 25 gigs. Don't quote me on that though, I'm not 100% sure.
