Tekkon Kinkreet Intro with English Subtitles

this film is fantastic, but the subtitles that came with it really suck. i speak japanese fluently but they use a dialect from kansai that's a little unfamiliar to me but i can understand enough to see that the subtitles are quite often EXTREMELY different from what's actually being said in japanese. example, in Japanese Shiro says "I was a very good boy today!" But in the English subtitle "I'm gonna eat a lot of apples!". Not cool to change the story in my opinion.

Hey everyone, do people think it would be worth buying this film from itunes for my ipod classic? Is the screen big enough to read subtitles, appreciate the image properly, etc. It would really help if people with experience of watching subtitled films on an ipod classic would give an opinion, i don't want to buy it and then not be able to see what they're saying.

This film looks great though! Animation seems so lively. :)

@thesheldon881 There is an English dubbed version of Tekkon Kinkreet if you can find it. Wouldn't recommend trying to get it on an iPod classic, though. I haven't tired it out on my iPod, but I would assume that the super-wide screen would make the movie quite difficult to see anyways.

@SpatialVortex i think you are perhaps thinkin of one of the animatrix stories??? from the DVD :] there are many glitches in the house... the government (machines) come and seal it up at the end... its a very short story compared to this one!!!

This movie is amazing. One of the best movies I have EVER seen and the emotion is intense. Just to add, in the English dub version, black sounds like Red X from T titans. I'm pretty sure it's the same voice actor. Love that bad ass voice.

I've always been loyal to anything in it's original form and opt for subtitles rather than dubbing but I have to say the English dubbing for this movie was really really good and that made it more fun to watch coz you didn't need to focus on the subtitles and just watch the beauty of this animation in awe.

Studio Ghibli is excellent, but Studio 4°C does a lot experimental and original works. I think that's why some people dream to work there.
