  • so you built the box as well?

  • I'm currently building a CBU and I want it to be a tenor. How long should the neck be?

  • where do you get your wood and measurements? thanks

  • Real nice...I like your style and execution...You are very good to listen to...Thanks...!!!

  • There are all manner of fret calculators online. I just built a uke very similar to this one; tenor 13 5/8" scale.

Sounds pretty good. Check out the Cigar Box Nation site.

  • where do you get the neck from??? i'm looking to make one of these myself

  • the headstock design is awesome

    not to mention your playing!!

    good stuff man

  • thanks! It's my favorite uke, really good playing and awsome sound! love it!

  • nice deep, rich sound. beautiful playing! good job brah.

  • thanks!

  • Hi!

Thanks, Make a cigar box ukulele is a little long, you have to use some good measures, good wood, to make a real instrument with a good sound, not a toy or a funny thing. Anyway, with a good tutorial you can do it!!! I used some ukulele and guitar plans but I had to adapt them. I search a long time and I made many mistakes... I will make a tutorial soon cos many persons asks to me for it. Moreover, when I began, I shall have liked having one of it!!!

  • @hotelmusic please make a tutorial!!! thanks!

  • What do I need to make this ? or how do I make this. Please reply. And it'd be awesome if you made a tutorial on how to make a cigar box ukulele.

  • beautiful sound.

  • yes, I use a tenor ukulele plan to use the good an standart measures.

You can use a fret calculator too

  • but did you use so kind of method or some scale to find out where to put the frets? -Jake

  • hey your amazing at making these! =] but how you go about making the fretboard and the neck? because i know if the fretboard isn't perfect, its not going to sound right. and your sounds perfect! and then how did mount the neck and fretboard on the cigar box, glue, screws? or what? and do you use any kind of bracing in the cigar box? im 15 and i really want to make one :) thanks man -Jake

  • Hi, thanks Jake!

Yes, I made the fretboard and the neck, they were 2 rough pieces of wood before. You're right, it's very important for un good and right sound. The were glued on the cigar box, and the box was reinforced. I add a solid piece of cedar for the top, and I sculpt bracing, in cedar to, like a real guitar!

If you wanna make one, you can do it!

  • That's a beauty! Great sound too!

    Eric

  • thank you, I think it's the last and the best uke I've made...

  • dope headstock.

  • thanks! modern look and it works fine!
