She pulls the second flip around with her hands.....nearly impossible to do in a full out with almost always has to be done in an open position...I have studied this numerous time is slow motion and its a full in...
LOL thats too funny....I was like OMG WHAT IS GOING ON I KNOW THATS A FULL IN! LOL :) No because She normally would do a tuck full out for the second line and Julianne says its a full out and its not....sorry for the confusion :)
Not to the extent that the Soviets seem to. Check out Rosa Galieva's 1992 optionals. She rests for almost ten full seconds before her final full-twisting double.
why did she scored only a 9.812? I understand she got deducted the .1 out of bounce, but a 9.912 for that routine? It should be a 10 if it weren't out of bounce. Look at her first tumbling pass. AMAZING!
I am not a gymnastics buff but I like to watch the sport. I have seen a lot of layouts, did she add a twist in the second layout and is that some thing women do because I haven't seen a twisting double layout in the other meads. Is that a very difficult pass for women?
Well, unlike Roza, I think they were honest and said that they were replacing Bogi in the event straight up. Bogi scored a 9.975 on FX in compulsories which is the biggest reason why she made it to finals in FX. So with it only being optional FX routines in the finals, they knew that Oksana had a much greater chance to medal. Still, I LOVED Bogi's routine at these Games!
It is a joke to imply the Soviets were were to take Galieva out for Gutsu, and not Bogunskaya for Chusovitina on floor. The gap between Gutsu and Galieva in AA standard is much better then Bogunskaya vs Chusovitina on floor.
All I'm saying is that they didn't try to hide the fact that they were replacing Bogi, as they did try to hide the fact that they were replace Galieva.
she's actually the co-world champion on floor ex. with Cristina Bontas prior to coming to Barcelona. she did not qualify for floor ex. final due to compulsory, but the soviet took Boginskaya out...
Doesn't she feel a little weird competing today against like toddlers lol?

If you look up "badass" in the dictionary, you will see a picture of Chuso right next to the definition.

Chusovitina should bring back this floor exercise (with different passes, obviously).

@tedsler no she does not, she start twisting when is is near the half of the first flip...

It's amazing that she was able to do that double full out even in her 30's.
markedexclusive 1 year ago
@markedexclusive double full out is a back double with a double twist out, what she does is just a full out
backflipboy27 1 year ago 2
@backflipboy27 I know I meant double layout full out.

pause it at 0:57...the first flip is already done as is the twist and shes starting the second flip
No1ZmeskalFan 2 years ago
or check 0:56..she in the first flip rotation and already twisting....
No1ZmeskalFan 2 years ago
Very good, but shame about the Step OOB.
I think Carly Patterson is the only other person to do a full-in with the twist on the 2nd flip?! IDK.
Kinda irrelevant - in warm up she stuck her full-in cold. It was awesome (chuso).

I hate how so many of the soviets rest in the corner for long periods of time before their tumbling runs.

well if you look at her last pass she is a little short

Yeah it is complete joke she was apparently only going to be in a big tie for bronze without that mistake.

it's incredibly difficult. the more twists and layouts they do the harder it is to get the height needed for rotation and a safe landing.
72peppertree 3 years ago
I never understood why they took Boginskaya out of EF and put Chusovitina in. Did Boginskaya join Galiyeva in the "hospital"? lol
NEM205 4 years ago
Because Oksana was the 91 world champion on the event, & Svetlana hasn't had the best scores on the event. She had some hard times with landings.
