Oohhhhhh The Tall Man.... scariest character ever...
I always think of Michael running after Reggie's ice cream truck when I hear this song...So spooky. So compelling...The darkness. The danger. The Sphere...
@tacsnktsa I love horror but I never really liked this series because I felt there was never any point. I mean, there was no conflict---you knew from the get-go that the bad guy would win and all the good guys were screwed. I'm ok with the good guys losing---but at least give them a chance or else there is no suspense. Plus they always "cheated" him back to life. If you kill him and he comes back to life, that's fine---but be creative. Don't just have him alive in the next shot.
@moonrice555 I can see what you're saying. In a way, these movies were sort of like shooting fish in a barrel: the "good guys" as you call them were defenseless. The movie DID scare me---don't get me wrong---but I still see your point. The villain in this movie was too god-like. Jaws could only kill you in the water. Freddy could only kill you in your sleep. This guy could get you whenever, where ever. I guess what's why I don't like ghost movies: there are no rules.
Excellent score!! I'm a phanatic myself, I noticed you used one of randys' spheres I have this one plus 6 more ! Where'd you download it from? Every time I turn around YouTube is on the warpath and removing all my favorite horror themes!! Damn them!!
I'm hard to scare when it comes to films, but the most disturbing one for me is probably Audition. I'm a big Takashi Miike fan, his films really stay in my head.
OMg....That movie scared me to Death..That creepy flying ball ...right smack dab in the forehead. LMAO..That is the ONLY part I remember....Seriously I had nightmares. I am Such a wimp about creepy movies..I love them..But they really scare me..I will close my eyes...EVEN THO I know it's only a MOVIE..GAAHD. WIMPETTE...No..Even wimpier....A quasi-wimp..A mini wimp......But give me a GREAT CAR CHASE...and I am all-"Rewind..!! I have gotta see that again"..I always wonder how they fiilmed it.
LOL! Girl, now you see how your song is more suitable for a lullabye than this one. Of course, I wanted Suspiria played instead of the Wedding March. Hubby2B said no. And that's why I'm marrying him. He's the one with the common sense ;-)
LOL! aWw! We can have it for as a 'random' in the middle 80's themed wedding party after just after St elmos fire's patronising song! hahaha! Gonna be so good! Everyone will go WTf Is this?! And we'll be left just us two! Sounds good to me! We were thinking a corrs song or 'It must be Love' by madness as wedding march, siding to our more mushy side :D
You were right to keep the ceremony traditional, Honey. But hey, we can play this at the reception when we want to send everyone home. Guaranteed to clear out all the squares.
HAHAHA! My *God* you got it! that'll totally send them packing most people anyway! People will all feel an air of uncertainty all of a sudden lol! A shroud of Darkness..like did i leave the gas on at home? i must get home now i don't want to be here! LOL! HAHAH! Well traditional with sides of us to it our more mushy side *kissES* then the receptions gonna be our all out wacky side LOL! AHAHAHA!
We really missed out not having drive ins here in the UK what an awesome childhhod you had *babYgIRL!* I did enjoy trying to get horror films in general on VHS from about 7, after seeing Christophers Lees Dracula at 4 things were never the same again! You gotta take me to a drive in when i come home Cam! XXX
YAAAAY! Can't wait! We're gonna have an awesome SummER baby! Last time there was so much to do in so little time! SOON we'll have all the time in the world! :-X
Love this film! The best of the series still by far! That creepy ass scene when he's hovering over the kid at the top of the bed! I got here in the end my *Love!* Love You! XXX
There are very few left - the one I know of in Southern California is the Mission Tiki in Montclair, it's really nice. But I'm so glad I got to experience drive-ins in their heydey.
Hell yeah! The ball is constantly entering my dreams. Great theme, theres something about the keyboard melodies of the 70s and 80s horrors that I love.
sidenote: The Chase from Midnight Express is my fave electronic disco track from the 70's Great cruising track.
I SO agree. As well as synth scores that are delightfully creepy as well :D
About a year ago, during my monthly bulk orders, I picked up the Anchor Bay editions of Parts 1 & 3. Part 2 SO need's a North American release, don't you agree Carmie my dear? ;)
Anyway, the first has it's flaws but very spooky & atmospheric film! And Part 2 is one of the most fun, goofy 'n gory sequels since the golden Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Gotta love it.
Ah someone else you "cooked" up. Snazzy vid! That theme still holds up. Well you can see giraffes at the zoo but not the Tall Man, so there you are. THE BALL IS BACK! And its coming this way....aiiee! Thanks for posting!
A year after we saw this, we went back to the zoo, I got heat stroke and we ended up BACK at the drive-in, this time to see Dressed to Kill. Now, how come I don't get THAT kind of service when I take a cab?
I love this so much. I can go to sleep to this and anything else, but forget about it with Midnight Express. Even after all this time. Damn you, Giorgio Moroder!
I remember you telling me about that aww Poor Camie! *cuddles* i have an equal fear of EVEr seeing that film again..that was the most depressing lunch movie i ever saw! LOL!
My *Honeys* tongue maybe, Midnight express should be shown to people on repeat in a darkened room with no windows for interogation purposes! Funny enough they did use David Greys music LOL!
Ahhh the silver sphere loved it flying around in the morturary

This is possibly my favorite scene in the movie. So creepy when I saw it as a child!
I have this OST also and it is one of my favorites, along with "The Omega Man" by Ron Grainer.
