Oddly enough, if you keep the throttle reved ("power on"), the motorcycle will tend to keep itself upright (gyroscopic precession) in a straight line. What this guy did was NOT roll off the throttle. I don't know if it's his experience as a motorcycle rider/racer or just pure luck but he didn't go down when both his feet got on the right side of the bike. He just slid along the ground on the soles of his boots and used that to stabilize himself and put his body back on the bike. Awwwe-some!

That's actually a high-side save, a tankslapper is when you develop a large amount of headshake (usually from bringing it down too hard coming out of the corner) and the bike is very wiggly underneath you. A high-side is, as you can see above, where the rear end slides and then catches (usually due to the rider having to shut the throttle) and then catapults the rider into the air at XXXmph.

Not a fun experience, and this guy (I want to say it's Rossi), had himself an expert save.
