c est une belle ville mais pour travailler c est tres dure!!! en travaillant vous allez savoir combien les quebecois sont racistes!!! et font l impossible pour que les immigrants restent les plus pauvres et avoir le salaire minimum de ce province.c est beau de se promener ds ces rues mais vivre permanent comme immigrant c est insupportable!!!

Warning, if you are skilled with professional degree, then don’t come to Quebec. Quebec lures you to come here to pay the bills while maaaany unqualified quebecors get professional jobs by experience, and you won’t find a job because you’re not French of Quebecor Origin. I lived here for 15 years and all my degrees are from Quebec with Masters in Engineering from University of Montreal and I spent 20 months unemployed. I am in Calgary & my salary is 93K/year, yet part of my taxes goes to quebec

During my last 20 months I was finishing up my masters and I worked 13 months right after repairing computers for 9.75$/hour maybe you are laughing but it was a very difficult time. throughout the rest of the world with the exception of quebec there are no such things as North American experience required or work for free to integrate, this is only in Quebec and it is made to steal more money and work for free, many skilled visible minorities driving taxis and they need to be aware of quebec.

We enjoy excellent social services from universal healthcare to a good education system. People can't expect to immigrate here with a degree in economics or engineering and become an economist or engineer over night. You're starting from the bottom. It's the same in.... Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark.

Montreal is a beautiful city, it has many highlights and attractions. i live here so i would know, but it has so much it can work on!

ive been to other cities, and our business district is disgusting in comparison to most other cities. We need to start cleaning our streets more.another thing is, even around our main tourist areas and centra city, the streets and sidewalks are horrrible. -.- I love montreal, but we've still got LOTS to work on before its the most beautiful city in the world :P

Montreal was only popular with Americans when the Canadian dollar was worth alot less the American dollar. The exchange rate was very good for American tourists. Now that the 2 dollars are almost equal, you don't see many tourists. Not only this but alot of Montreal is anti English language.

When I feel like having a change to my scenery, I go to Montreal. I cross a single bridge a then I find my self in a completely bilingual North American city.

You see, my first language is French and I always get served in English in Mtl (except in public museums and on the Plateau). I really wonder why people says it's anti-English... that's like saying Bern in Switzerland is anti-French! :)

@rock9711 correction; you may put an english sign provided the font is half the size of the french one; i see nothing wrong with that. Imagine if you will, some store in lets say toronto puts it's signage only in french and gets a fine for doing so; should i get angry? The answer to that of course is no. Given the majority of francophone citizens and the political independance that quebec benefits from, the laws are like this.
