To help with high notes just push your jaw a little and keep your lips relaxed. Use warm air for a nice = warm, round tone. If it helps, angle your air a little towards the crown.
First of all you should be relaxed; arms, and lips. Turn you flute outwards to find a better tone. Try not to cover so much of the hole. You have done very well considering you've only been playing 6 months. I think this is a grade 4 piece!
Only 6 months? Wow you have an awesome tone!! When you get higher though, make your mouth hole as small as it can get, and focus on your tone. high notes are the hardest to get good tones on. Also, try to not blow so hard... you're supposed to force the air out faster, but no louder, so try controlling it. Keep your flute up... it's slanted down. keep it straight and your tone will improve. On lower notes, loosen up your jaw to get a full, rich sound. Keep up the work!
you're awesome. i'm thinking of playing this for next years solo and ensemble but i can't get the sheet music :-/ hey do you think you can email it to me?
Listen. For the higher registers make sure you DO NOT overblow. If you do, the note will sound muffled, and will probably squeak or split. If you need to play quickly, purse your lips loads and stretch your lips as if smiling. Good Luck!
For your tone on the high notes make sure you keep your flute at a right angle with your lips becuase then it won't distort as much. Also try to keep the opening in your lips clearer and open a little wider. Good luck!
