  • is this dead project, or are you still working on it.... and if yes, how far do you made it. Did you finished one character?

  • @DoubleDragonRemake Progress has been slow but hasn't stopped. I've been working on the 3D model of Raiden lately, and stages are getting made. Coding is still on, music is still on... It's all still going. We just can't work as fast as a game company.

  • @gabe687 do you have some tutorials, how to create MK Character in 3d like you do. I worked in Blender a little.

  • @DoubleDragonRemake I may do that at some point, but you have a ton of tutotrials already on the web. Search different 3D forums, Search Youtube, Search TheGnomonworkshop, search CG cookie, etc. If there is something you don't know, there is probably a tutorial on it somewhere.

    btw Gabe.. atleast wen u make scorpion u've pritty much made a foundation for subzero too.. unless ur going with a different fighting style for him.. keep me posted.

  • @icold666 For my version no doubt I always add a bunch of stuff. For the MK1 HD project only more frames are added to the animations. We are trying to stay very close to the original game.

  • @RejectedManiac It is too high, but I haven't really messed with the code for MK1. Only changed the sprites and there's an option to set the character to HD, which messes with the velocity settings. I'll fix this stuff eventually, but the version for MK1 is looking more accurate. I'm using my character's code as a base to test the animations before sending them to the MK1 project coder. It's two versions of the character, with totally different code.

    Pfff i'm not so sure, the character sprites look like they havent been indexed, i see no color degradation. Could be the video compression, anyways.... its lookin mighty sweet.

  • @Kaandorpius Mugen not being able to load multiple sprite files for the same character, causes a problem with HD color palettes. In order to make that work, we have to put every sprite in the same .sff file and use an indexed 256 color palette. Lowering to 256 means a heavy color loss but we can't really get around that, unless we use a different program.

    Also to make shang work, every character's sprites need to be in the same file.

    Using .png would mean double the sprites, way too much.

    And you know i'm no character editor, but for Shang you could import the other characters sprites without a shared palette right? As long as Shang himself has a shared palette. That would make sense to me, and the engine could deal with that to my experience.

    Guess we have to take the colorloss for granted.

  • @Kaandorpius Shang needs to have at least two .act color palette files for every character.

    Which character he is, is set with a variable and depending on that variable, a certain palette is used. Every sprite for the character needs to be shared, unless it's fireballs and stuff like that.

  • @Kaandorpius You can have one palette but it's better with at least two, one for P1 and another for P2.

  • hey there bet midway wish they hired you anywho are the chacaters going to be availabe separately or is the whole game going to be stuffed into a massive EXE because people have been doing that lately and it is a big let down also for the stage please don't judge me this is my opinion isn't the stage a little to bright for doom and gloom MK style fatalities

  • @darson92 There are two versions of the characters being coded. I do my own version which is separate characters. The coder for the MK1 game is doing them all in one, so Shang Tsung can use the morph ability.

  • @R4nd0mn355dud3 It is the goal, to make this full game. Will it happen, I don't know but so far the team is holding strong.

  • @darson92 It depends on the artist, but the goal is to make everything as close to MK1 as possible, so that's why it's bright. There are three people making stages right now, and there's really only one that likes to go with his gut, more than likeness. He's making other stages though, so the artist for this one is more about direct translation of the classics.

  • @RoseDark423 You'd be right, but everybody working on this has many years of experience, so it's more tedious than difficult for us.

  • very clean stuff... but htere is one thing taht is bottering me... the reflections of the columns and the throne... they do not have perspective... yeah I know you cant aply it and transparency at the same time, but you can add the reflection in the flur sprite... then it will have perspective and the light that ocmes fromt he windows is not aligned with the perspective of the flour... yeah they are just details... but they make that that beautifull stage looks a little strange...

  • @sannamy the problem is the flour not the light... the horizon point must be in the center, ever... if not respect that with th elements... Anyway... excelelnt work with the sprites/models... they're of the best that i saw in MUGEN. good luck with that ^^

  • @sannamy I'm only working on the characters, but you can check the thread at TRMK and add your input, this sort of feed back comes in handy.

  • @Reinc01 There are two versions of the character being coded. One is for the actual MK1 project and that will not be compatible. The other is my own take on the character, like I do with all my stuff, and that will be compatible.

  • @MUGENKombat We are trying not to go overboard so the files don't get too big. Priority is 30 fps, if an animation is looking too choppy at that rate, we render at 60. The frame rate depends on the animation. It's not set in stone, it just needs to look smooth.
