no he's actually doing it correctly. he just cut the tip really big so it looks like it ought to be burned. the other side should have been cut as well. some cigars, generally more expensive need to be cut on both ends. he keeps it classy
also any butane lighter will not pollute the cigar because butane burns off as soon as it combusts.
torch lighters are better because they burn off the remaing carbon but either way, you can use any lighter that uses butane

@segalandcigars This guy is ridiculous on so many levels. The cigar is a Hemingway Short Story by Arturo Fuente (GREAT smoke). He lit the correct end but clipped the cigar WAY past the shoulder. When you clip it, just take the first 1/8 inch. He took at least 3/8. Don't use butane lighters, or paper matches on a cigar (or a pipe). Etiquette suggests removing the band, but I say fuck that. If you can't afford a decent cigar, I don't feel guilty that I have one. If it's good, smoke it to the nub.

@KubaBooba Yes, just put it down in your ashtray and come back to it later. Cigars will not continue to burn unattended like cigarettes. Don't snub it out, just put it down and let it be.

OMG! I am embarrassed for this guy! He is using a terrible lighter (you must use CLEAN fuel of triple refined Jet lighter){the one he is using is for cigarettes...YUK!) and he is lighting the WRONG end of the Torpedo!!! I can NOT watch anymore...sorry...

@segalandcigars This guy is ridiculous on so many levels. The cigar is a Hemingway Short Story by Arturo Fuente (GREAT smoke). He lit the correct end but clipped the cigar WAY past the shoulder. When you clip it, just take the first 1/8 inch. He took at least 3/8. Don't use butane lighters, or paper matches on a cigar (or a pipe). Etiquette suggests removing the band, but I say fuck that. If you can't afford a decent cigar, I don't feel guilty that I have one. If it's good, smoke it to the nub.

@segalandcigars : I'm sorry, too---for YOU! That ain't a torpedo, in the true-sense. And, he IS lighting the correct-end. Have you ever smoked a real, true hand-rolled? And I don't mean those damned Swisher-Sweets, that the pretty-gal at the 7/11 "rolls" across the counter, either...!
