@Tsudoshi09 Damn i can't really remember... I pad full price back then, but the prices of raw materials have gone up in Japan since then. So they have gotten more expensive over time.
its rightfully called stg 44 not mp44 becouse mp stands for michine pistle and for that it needs to shoot pistle rounds but it shoots rifle rounds and there for it was the first asult rifle ever made .. the germans make damn good stuff!
@MrStemkilla If i were to design a semi automatic 20mm sniper rifle and name it "wimpy pistol MK1" no one would have the right to say that i can't do that, because its my invention. It would still be CLASSIFIED as a sniper rifle, but name doesn't have to follow function ;)
MP44 was its first name, to hide the project from AH. And after he accepted the gun, it was changed to Stg44: A name that follows its function. So you can either call it by its birth name, or by its technically correct name
You know what, there were a bunch of mp 44s, Thompsons, Shermans, t34s/76, German 88s, and a shitload of t55s in a military repair and renewal station some 10 minutes walk from my home, going back to ex Yugoslavia, but most of the stuff got "chopped" for scrap iron.
Only lately some "geniuses" finally figured out that those old tank guns etc. could be better sold, things like lefh 18 in the original panzer grey from the 1940s.
@PanterausfG Such a waste! Why would they do that? I mean WWII stuff is very desired by collectors, a working MP44 will cost you around 4000€ here, WAAAAAAYY more than the scrap metal price...
Some people need to use their mind better sometimes.
They have to make these guns again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GBB guns are much more realistic and they sound great not like a MULTI BLENDER!!!!!!!! You AEG fans open your ears the sound that the AEGs do suchsssssssssssssss!!!!!!
External powered GBB must be the future they use cheap high cap mags and you don't have to buy every internal gas mag for 50usd with only 30-50 bbs...
@csmybuttt Not to my knowledge. And even if its possible, the Escort GBB system uses A LOT more gas then a contemporary GBB or GBBR. Which would most likely cause cooldown after even a few shots on semi...
It can run on green gas, it even comes with a special regulator to fit it on disposable green gas cannisters. But those are quite big as well. Basically gas magazines would never work for this kind of gun.
@AAgunner Then again, I think for all practical purposes, an external might be better. Keeping an air supply in a backpack during a skirmish doesn't seem too impractical. Of course, skirmishing with such a rare gun isn't likely in the first place.
@csmybuttt Depends on which gun you want to use really. Before the AEG was invented, almost every semi or fully automatic airsoft gun used an external rig. And some of those are quite skrimishable. My MP44 has a tricky hop-up.
Most BIG guns that use the Escort engine (MP44, MG42, M60 etc..) always have to shoot 0.30g BB's to be somewhat accurate. Some classic gun owners would hate me for saying this but: Unless your a collector, get an AEG. ;)
@666Vertigo Actually its brass. The Japanese law makes it illegal to use materials that can withstand the stress and pressures of a real gun. The body of my MP44 is not steel either, but high quality metal.
Shoei makes the best and finest model guns you can imagine, so believe me, if they COULD use steel... They would. And blue it for an even better look. But unfortunately they cant.
They also make an airsoft MG42. They told me that they had plans to also make an airsoft FG42. And of course they also make a lot of very fine non-firing replicas.
If you wish to use this gun as a movie prop or display piece, then you could remove the air hose. Of course you cant shoot it then. But if you mean remove the hose, but still be able to shoot it. Then no, it only works on an external rig.
It would totally work too with some very minor modifications. just buy an all metal g3 a4 (Classic Army is the only one who offers it) [SO SEXY] and then fit the system inside. they are ALMOST the exact same receiver design.
Believe me, its not that simple. You can't even put the internals of an Escort MP5 into a CA or TM MP5. But if you really want one (G3 GBB) and have the money, you could look up DaytonaGun (DG) they build GBB AK's and M4 variants using Escort like internals. And they can take custom orders as well.
Yes. Thats the only real downside on this gun... But: cheap mags that hold around 70 rounds, that don't leak, that don't weigh more than half a kilogram. Plus: no cool down even on full auto, large supply of air, strong recoil and a simple and almost indestructible blowback mechanism... Those things make it worth it in many peoples eyes.
That's because Hitler didn't approve of the gun at first. So they named it the "Machinen Pistole 44" to make him believe it was like the already existing MP40 submachine gun. Then upon discovery of this gun (which he ordered not to be made) and a demonstration he named it the "Sturm Gewehr" or "Storm Rifle" also translated as "Assault Rifle" (hmmm explains that one).
I was referring to real guns. But yes, an airsoft gun with good hop-up can easily out shoot another airsoft gun twice its length that has a bad hop-up.
You are comparing sub-machine guns with an assault rifle... Big difference between those two categories. MP5 is just 9mm Para, thats about 100 meters of effective range. The P90 is chambered in 5.7x28mm, effective range is 150-200 meters. Whilst the STG44 chambered in 7.92x33 mm has about 300 (some say 500 and even 600) meters of effective range.
uh uh no definitely not 500-600m effective range. I've shot a real Stg 44 and it is just as inaccurate and the projectile travels just as slow as an AK47. With both rifles I could barely reach a target at 400 yards.
Yeah, i found that 500 to 600 meters was a bit unreal for that caliber... I was pretty sure of 300m, as i said "some say" apparently they are wrong... Thanks for clearing that out though.
You can order it from Shoei, if they aren't sold out yet. The gun itself costs about 1031€. Shipping cost to my house was 101€ and extra magazines are 60€.
If you are referring to "normal" gas guns which use a blowback mechanism that has several moving parts inside of it, of which many are made from cheap metal and plastic, then yes. Dry firing is bad for those guns, from the cheapest GBB pistol to any GBB M4 variant. But if you are referring to this gun and any other gun that uses the Escort GBB mechanism, which only has one moving part (the bolt) made from solid brass, then no. Thanks. Ive heard that the AGM's need quite a bit of tweaking to get them shooting right. Oh wel, the Shoei isnt always an easy gun... Adjusting air pressure, adjusting Hop-Up and its a VERY picky gun when it comes to BB's. Plus the recoil makes it harder to keep the gun on target. I guess thats what you get when you want realism.
By adjusting the air pressure, you can decide the power. Although 400 fps is possible, 500 fps can (will) damage the gun. And if you run it at about 350 fps, and use 0.25g BB's, then the range is about 45m. Its got about the range of a normal AEG, but the recoil can make it more difficult to aim.
About 40 seconds into the video, you can clearly see the air tank connected to the gun. So its not electric. The gun uses either CO² or compressed air.
AGM MP44 in UK cost £190. FPS 450 out of box. As accurate as any other chinese AEG - and you on't have to lug an air bottle around! Shoei lots the dogs bollocks though, so depends wat you want I guess
Reviews say that the AGM mp44 is not very accurate (I don't own any chinese guns, so i cant tell for sure). As i said before: IF it's possible to fit aftermarket parts into the AGM mp44, then go for it. The Shoei is a very decent performer in both power and accuracy, but most owners (including myself) don't take these guns to skirmishes alot out of fear to damage the gun! (The internals might be nearly indestructable, but a big nasty scratch on the body can always come out of nowhere!)
i love how realistic this gun is but then theres the price so im having a hard time deciding between the agm stg 44 and this one wut would u think be better
I heard that the AGM has terrible accuracy and a lack of power. But as you say, the Shoei costs a LOT of money, and a lot of people forget that they also have to pay shipping costs and import duty, wich can run up pretty high with this gun. Plus a paintball tank and a regulator. And the mags are expensive too. I would say, if you want a skirm capable mp44 within your buget, buy the AGM and give it some HEAVY custom modifications (if its even possible with this gun)
I'm getting the AGM MP44 soon. I'm getting my supplier to do a complete tune up of the gearbox with high quality components and a new spring to bring the power round to a more sensible level for skirmishing. I'm then going to measure the inner barrel and change it out for a Systema one. Should clear up the performance issues nicely :)
Ah... but man that's awesome to have a Shoei Mp44!, there runnin about $1300 now
heh heh

If you are referring to "normal" gas guns which use a blowback mechanism that has several moving parts inside of it, of which many are made from cheap metal and plastic, then yes. Dry firing is bad for those guns, from the cheapest GBB pistol to any GBB M4 variant. But if you are referring to this gun and any other gun that uses the Escort GBB mechanism, which only has one moving part (the bolt) made from solid brass, then no. Dry firing is not bad for these guns.

This is really a great weapon. But the manufacturers should install a sound chip. The "klack, klack" sucks.
StHa80 2 years ago
It sounds better then any airsoft gun ive ever seen. The sound just isn't easy to capture on video.
AAgunner 2 years ago
Ah, ok :-)
How far is the range and the "penetrating power" of the shots? I've heard that the range is about 45 meters?
StHa80 2 years ago
By adjusting the air pressure, you can decide the power. Although 400 fps is possible, 500 fps can (will) damage the gun. And if you run it at about 350 fps, and use 0.25g BB's, then the range is about 45m. Its got about the range of a normal AEG, but the recoil can make it more difficult to aim.

Maybe you should also get an original mp44 stock for it. I heard they should fit.

Sounds like a good idea. But I imagine finding one won't be easy at all.
