  • Who's name is that on 300???? MINE. Yeah buddy!!! LS2 (AW) in the end. Great times. I miss Japan.

  • Hi why can't I watch this video on my iPod?

    Ps. Great video

  • amazing. simply amazing.

  • They stole their idea from battlefield 3..

  • the only reason i would dislike this is because of the shitty music.

  • Hey, do you guys want to know how to fly these for free and get paid to do so? It's called joining the Navy.

  • @how2krushkings Actually it's called the Air Force

  • those negative g's on that nose dive have to hurt!

  • Does anyone know, do they have flight simulators on an aircraft carrier so these guys can practice stuff like this?

  • @JetMechMA i dont think so man the pilots are supposed to be ready and have had enough practice

  • Mach 1.06. Gs.....1.6

  • @JetMechMA Yeah you're expected to be able to take 6 or 8 g's for 20 seconds without any equipment helping you so I'm sure this guy can handle it.

  • @GutsLCF I didn't mean whether he could physically handle it, I was thinking of being able to practice his flight demo in a simulator so he could maximize his time in the aircraft. Land based pilots have that option and I was wondering if carrier bases pilots have sims too.

  • @JetMechMA Haha I was talking about your other comment about Mach 1.6 :P But its cool, I guess they might considering it isn't the same kind of landing at all.

  • If you wanna be a fighter pilot and go to concerts a lot, wear ear protection. It sounds obvious but I wish I would have taken that advice from my mother. I learned I cannot be a pilot because of hearing loss that could have easily been prevented. So if you've been hitting the clubs and want to pursue this dream, pop in those ear plugs. Just a tip!

  • ive met a couple of these pilots and there real cocky and shit how could you not be though flying these beasts

  • esse vídeo ficou ótimo, parabéns!!!

  • Is it wrong that I got a boner while watching this?

  • This is really the only thing fighter-jets are good for.... Enjoying the beauty of flight! Not dropping bombs.

  • @MrHerremannen I'm agree with you! The flight is fantastic without the war...

  • @MrHerremannen fucking hippie

  • @MrHerremannen goddamn tree hugger

  • 368 people like this. The other 11 are jealous freaks with no lives.

  • hey, he F/A-18 super hornet has 11 weapon racks!!! looks like 11 people got their own bomb

  • 11 people are chinese airforce lol

  • Navy pilots> airforce pilots

  • 11 People are brainwashed Russians, whose military is known for 'Russian' to there graves.

  • that would be fun as hell

  • Used to be onboard the USS Independence and we had the super shit hot world famous golden dragons onboard.

  • I'd rather the F-5... :D *lie*

  • looks like 11 people fell overboard and didn't see it

  • I remember seeing my first F-18 Hornet aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln It was impressive. The cockpit is so technologically advanced.

  • Great video and excellent choice of music! We all want to be flying that plane!

  • Speed breaker

  • Awesome vid, is it wrong to get hard while watching that?

  • I love the F/A-18 Super Hornet but i have to concede to near comming F-35, its successor.

  • @wtong89 False, the Super hornet will fight alongside the F-35 (if it ever gets finished). The older Legacy Hornets are the ones that need replacements.

  • @Imladris18

Thats what i meant Lol, of course they will fight along side F/A-18, but over time F/A 18 will slowly be replaced by the successor F/A-35. Isnt it suppose to be one of the carriers is due to be retired so the new Ford Class Carrier along wiht the F/A-35 is suppose to replace it?

  • What a fucking feeling that must be

  • How much time do naval aviators spend on a boat? 6 months?

  • oh my god, he's crazy!

  • i am pumped to go fly some planes right now

  • i would pay to do this job

  • Did he died?

  • Easily one of my favorite vids on Youtube. Thank you.

  • makes me wish i had chosen a different career

  • nice paint scheme

  • how can you dislike this??? beats me...

  • @fighterjetfreak09 maybe because they're jealous lol idk!

  • @fighterjetfreak09 You would only dislike this if you are a terrorist. Boom!

  • @fighterjetfreak09 Failed the aptitude test

  • Great video!

  • Im currently taking the required subjects at school to maybe one day earn my seat in one of those babies, off course I wouldn't be taking part in carrier operations considering Australia don't have carriers! (hmph!) But i hope to one day fly an F/A-18 out from Avalon, VIC. Its my lifelong dream :)

  • @skippyskater Since when has there been an FA-18 base at Avalon?

  • @ceskazbrojovka17HMR Lol sorry, I was reffering to the airshow, they have one every year and display hornets.

  • @ceskazbrojovka17HMR Also saw your F/A-18 vid - Naice :)

  • @skippyskater mate also before hand do iq tests, losts of them, mental maths, some fitness (not too much they are not too strict on that as long as your healthy), and also do anything you can involving leadership and teamwork as they test you on these things to. gl (im sure you know most of this but jsut to give you the best chance, i know im only 17 but i have done the raaf recruitment process and if you put ya mind to it you can do it no probs :D )

  • Comment removed

  • @stiksoldier Thanks for your interest :), I've been going crazy on the maths and have been looking for leadership opportunities throughout my school, In primary school I was a well respected prefect and backup house leader (athletics carnivals and such).but I wouldn't think they would take into consideration primary school achievements would they? All I can do is try to do the same in senior school and keep my grades up, and of course what you mentioned, thanks for the kind words :)

  • @skippyskater you also have co-ordination, speed reading tests (for dials and controls and so on) , spatial awarness, and they ask you every time you seem them have you/are youpassing physics most important subject (for recruitment anyway)

  • @stiksoldier Oh I love my physics :D, i have no problem reading gauges on fsx, or on the cessna 152 out at bankstown airport, I know, I know, fsx is nothing compared to real life, but just saying, my next door neighbour's nephew just got into the RAAF as a trainee pilot, he gave me alot of motivation when he lived next door.

  • I guess the CAG doesn't have to do a hands off.

  • This video is awesome. Makes me sad for Scott Speicher though. Wonder if we will ever really know what happened to him that night in Jan., 1991 over Iraq. Was it a Mig? or something else? Did he eject or not? We may never know unfortunately.

  • nice HUD feature @2:58 - in case pilot falls to spatial disorientation?

  • 2:30-2:40 is like a rocket launching amazing view

  • u just have to love this ay

  • What an incredible fighter plane that is!!!

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO!

  • Absolutely outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that is my favriot jet plus the blue angels use the F/A-18 hornet i just saw them at the nh airshow that the F/A-18 hornet is so badass

  • I'm an artist and I've drawn & painted all types of aircraft from P-51s to B-52s but have never drawn an FA-18. I shall draw or paint on before I die. It's a very remarkable aircraft.

  • How do you stay fit to be able to do those hard tasks? I want to fly navy jets and I don't how you get selected to fly jets

  • And breaking the sound barrier. Sweet!!

  • Saw an article in the local newspaper about a young man who graduated from my high school in 2004 who now flies these F/A-18s, Feeling so happy for him.

  • @EmphaticItalic My parents are friends with some people who's son flies F/A-18s off the CVN 76 (Reagan). They live on a back road with no neighbors for hundreds of yards. Someone who lived surrounded by nature now flies one of the most advanced pieces of technology known to man. Can't wait to join the Navy and follow his course.

  • I don't know about you guys but when I'm having a bad day or I am just completely depressed, I just play this video and escape from reality. It is my dream to be in this guy's position. There is absolutely nothing better out there. I get the chills every time I watch this! I fall asleep hoping to be that guy! I'm going to give it all I got to be up in that sky someday. Amen!

  • these planes are insane. makes you feel bad for the enemy!

  • I wish I had better eyes when I was younger. This was my dream job. Sadly, not to be. Kids if you have the opportunity...Take It!

  • @lakewood85 SAME HERE :((

  • I've been looking to join the air force for a long time,.,. but this video makes me reconsider the navy.. i just can't decide. They're both amazing!

  • @scottrules95 in the navy you don't usually have any restrictions on breaking the sound barrier! :)

  • very nice video

  • im joining soon

  • wow.... that is amazing, but it must be frustrating at landing and a dream at flying!

  • yeah there a bitch to work on though

  • im a wanna be pilot this is the only reason i still want to be alive is to be a fighter pilot i hope i get the chance, love this song btw

  • nice vid.

i still don't like the super hornet as much as f14. why US navy choose to upgrade the f-18, instead of updating f14 design?

  • @slafkec I agree with you. Since the Tomcat was retired and others like the Viking and Prowler are going away, the Navy is facing a fighter short-fall right now. Instead of retiring the Tomcats and spending millions if not, billions of dollars on a new plane that many say "not as capable." The Tomcats could've been been re-modernized, life extension, increased structural strength, and other major upgrades. Sadly, the idiot Dick Cheney killed the Tomcat program and favored the SH..what an idiot.

  • Was a former Midway & Independence Sailor. The SSHWFGD still rock!

  • Love this video. Just to get mood to get fly.

    "silver wings"

  • thank you capitan (i hope) Nelson for this video and for what you do for us.

  • By far my favorite fighter jet video of all time. God Bless.

  • Australia just purchased 15 more F-18's

    to replace it's F-111's

  • To be accurate, I happened to see a killer flight demo by an F-18 pilot at Carswell AFB in the early 1980's. Carswell happens to share a runway with the F-16 factory, General Dynamics. So I'm sure this F-18 pilot was well aware of who he was performing his flight demo in front of....and he acted accordingly. I'm QUITE sure that he demonstrated his F-18 that day, to it's maximum potential. It was jaw dropping. He left no doubt that the F-16 wasn't the only super-fighter in the skies.

  • Pretty lame for an F-18. I saw a lot of swooping and zooming but not much maneuvering. Check out the video "F-16 Demo Flight". That's the Gold Standard of flight demonstrations. Also check out two videos featuring the F-15 West Coast Demo Team.....the two videos featuring in cockpit video as well as outside footage. For those that don't know, the F-15 is actually quite massive...for a fighter. But just watch these real world Jedi Knights rack these things around the sky.

  • @JetMechMA F-14's always stole the crowds =D

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x The Tomcat was definitely the crowd favorite at the Chicago Lake Front Air and Water Show. It would send a chill up your spine when he would do the knife edge pass while accelerating and sweeping the wings....just beyond words. Beautiful aircraft. On the next pass he would come in slowed down again with wings forward, pull a hard G turn with afterburners pointed at the crowd for maximum effect and then accelerate going straight up out of sight on a crystal clear day.

  • Simply breath-taking. Hopefully this will be me next year

  • how and scary

  • best video on utube of an f18

  • Could you ask for any better job tbh? :L My dream job i know that!

  • @JKAJENKO same

  • @JKAJENKO ....ur right mate u couldn't ask for a better job then that.

  • @JKAJENKO Damn right

  • wtf was that landing??? haha how he did that?

  • there are catch cords on aircraft carriers that stop the plane otherwise they wouldnt have enough room to stop

  • Great video with great music.

  • Man i really wana fly one of them!

  • Yeah man me to! we'll make it :D

  • hahaha I HOPE SO!

  • u will dude. as will i ! us three in the air just like this ! man i cant wait ! they get PAID to do this !

  • The F/A-18 is the greatest fast jet of all time - awesome video!

  • same my goal is to be flying that plane just graduated college now attending a you session for defence force hopefully i get in.

  • That is cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this plane

  • joining the navy in 3 years right after I finish military college :)

one day ill be in that plane

  • Nice one m8, i wish i was born again knowing what i know now...(i´d study hard, lol)

  • @alexxxandre91 F-18's suck. Don't go for it. No plane in the Navy is worthit because the F-14 is gone. F8CK the Super Slow Hornet!

  • @HornetSUCKSForever And you listen, because every F-18 video I see you've posted a gay anti-hornet comment on. I want to know right now, have you ever flown an aircraft in your life? If not, shut the fuck up because you have no goddamn idea what you are talking about. And btw, I wouldn't call anything that can go Mach 1.7 slow cumstain, so get your fucking facts straight.

  • @alexxxandre91 well youll be in a hornet but not the C model's almost all if not all of them have been retired. its a super hornet age now baby =]

  • @alexxxandre91 you dont wana fly the f-35?

  • @alexxxandre91 i hope you can complete your dreams thats an awesome plane

  • @alexxxandre91 I might be seeing you around then, I'm with VMFA-232. I'm a Marine Corps squad, but we could be on the same carrier.

  • @MattyMeatpie Red Devils ;)

  • @alexxxandre91 i would like to know if you're still alive.. and dont do it..

  • @alexxxandre91

    GO GET UMM

  • @alexxxandre91 dude i hope not, the f-35 will be opeing its pipeline by then. Do that.

  • @knightnvy navy wont fly f-35 for the only reason it is a single engine plane i heard

  • @alexxxandre91 they are deploying squadrons for F-35. It is the joint strike fighter, and are receiving their own model which has a beefed up chassis for carrier landing. It will still only have a single engine, but the reliability tests have been so high the need for a second one it a non issue.

  • @alexxxandre91 i watch this every day to remind me what i go to school for

  • @alexxxandre91 same here :D

  • Amazing vid'. the music makes it more pationate lol I hope to fly in the RAF one day its mi ambition!!

  • 57-60 great footage

  • puta madre, qu buenaso. Aquí en Ecuador eso sería solo un sueño.

  • this and mig 29 are my fav aircraft's .

  • beautiful aircraft....

  • It now seems the USN made the correct choice of buying a bunch of Hornets instead of going broke buying super high tech aircraft like the Raptor. The Raptor is the best, but we cant afford to build it in large numbers due to cost. The USN hornets hit the fleet over 30 years ago, but they still provide a powerful and affordable sting when it comes to combat aviation.

  • It is almost the exact same for the RAAF or Royal Australian Air Force man but our hornets are being replaced by JSFs

  • The raptor is not a carrier-compatible aircraft....

  • god bless democracey

  • I'm joining the ADFA in hope to be a pilot in the air force. Flying one of these is my main goal in life.

  • good luck mate

  • I hope to be a pilot in the air force as well.

The best of luck to you.

  • thanks mate

  • These guys rule the world. There's nothing that can top this feeling! Awesome video...

  • Incredible footage.

  • brilliant.. absolutely brilliant

  • 100%love for JET

  • excellent video!!! Love the jet!

  • Awesome video+Great Track=Bookmarked!

  • Best job in the world

  • Man, I just keep watching this vid over and over again. I luv the music. The HUD shots are too low fidelity (grainy), I dunno why the navy doesn't go hi rez on these things. I know it sounds cliche, but I'm so damn envious of these young gun pilots. You should publish more vids like this one.

  • hey where could you get the video?

  • does anybody know when (or if) vfa-192 will transition to the super "E" hornet? will they just wait until they get F-35's?

  • i will go ahead and guess they will wait for the f35 they come out in 2011 so not to far away, plus all the hornets have had the shit flown out of them

  • A big salute to all the guys out there doing this 24/7, 365 days a year!

  • Does anybody know what kind of cameras are used to captures these videos?

  • HD? idk

  • Maybe, but I was wondering what specific time of camera do they put in front of the pilot.

  • lol, idk, maybe just to see how the pilot reacts to things, idk

  • Forty-odd years ago, some of our Dragon pilots of Nam days would dodge SAMs, then snap pics of them flying by with personal cams they sometimes carried.

  • @9134207 How could you sit in those tiny seats with balls as big as that? 0.o

  • A-4 seats were specially built to accommodate such assets. Check with Google search on "Michael Estocin" for proof.

BTW, I was a greenshirt during that era (aviation electronics technician).

  • awesome

  • awesome video! great work!

  • Alot work was put into that video. Good Job. Very Good Job.

  • you can't get an FAA first class medical either if you are color blind. This means that you won't be able to fly in the airlines either. sorry.

  • Hornet driver? i'm pretty sure you can't drive hornets lol.

  • ..... aviators commonly refer to other pilots as drivers. you don't know too much about this stuff do you?

  • I was a Hornet driver, and I wore contacts or glasses. The key is 20/20 vision at initial health check prior to selection for US Navy/Marine Corps flight training and health screening at Pre-Indoc. If one's vision degrades while in flight training, they will not pull one from flight school. You get either contacts or glasses or elect for lasik. Only in rare instances will a winged pilot be pulled from lfight status for vision (something really bad).

  • you cant wear contacts becuz of the g force that can move them around and cause fuzziness ans color blindness keeps you from seeing differnt color equipment on the hornet which might keep you alice or kill you and it can also mess around with you vision under g force, the black fades and the white brightens and can cause temperarly blindness.

  • why cant you have contacts?

  • yes you need 20/20 vision, no glasses, contacts or anything like that. if you have fuzzy sigh at all you cant join.and you need good eye sight so you can read the gauges

  • why cant you be color blindness either?

  • does anyone know if you can wear contacts to be a pilot? i only wear glasses sometimes cause i get eyestrain & i cant read things far away. do you need PERFECT eyesight to be a pilot?

  • you gotta be in perfect health to enter AF academy, I tried to, but my vision test failed me. gotta be 20/20

  • why does it have to be 20/20, i thought computers and radars played the role of eyes
