Great that ABBA got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and would be cool to see them perform together again, with new tunes. Beyond that, I am still waiting for The Moody Blues to get inducted as well.
Listen to the ABBA songs like "Watch Out" "So Long" "King Kong Song" "On & on & on" "Hey hey Helen" "Rock Me" and "Hole in your Soul." Many people label them as a disco group because of "Dancing Queen." Also, because that was their only number 1 hit in the U.S that stayed for about 10 weeks. It was during the time when studio 54 was coming out, and all that other stuff. Those songs one of the few reasons why ABBA should be in. :)

Rock N'Roll is made up of many genres and yes even hip-hop is now eligible for honors. A Rock N'Roll performer is eligible 25 years after their first recording.
I listen to alternative mostly but love ABBA and they damn well deserve the honor. Close to 400 million record sells, recording in 3 languages, international hits and over 30,000 fans per concert . People like you make me embarrassed to be from the U.S. . Go research before making ignorant comments

As I stated the guidelines of the RRHOF, it is them( 500 people from the music industry) who decides who get nominated and inducted, not the average fan. I don't like certain bands either but if they got huge record sales then I suppose they would deserve a nomination.

if Madonna and Michael Jackson are in it, I dont see why ABBA cannot be in it. ABBA wrote and produce all of their work, something Madonna couldnt even do. If anything, ABBA deserved to be in it years ago.

I don't hate ABBA. I think they were the best at the kind of music they created.... however, they weren't "Rock n' Roll".
My big issue is that it should be called the "Music Hall of Fame" because it clearly isn't just Rock N' Roll acts.
This would be like inducting Judas Priest into the "Country Music Hall of Fame".

The R&R HoF started putting in NON-rock acts...on the VERY FIRST BALLOT. Go check it out. I have no idea why they call it the Rock and Roll HoF.
And since that is true, ABBA should be there (and should have gotten in WAY before Madonna)
