  • It sounds like you have already been to Portland. Are you coming back again to this area for another workshop. I live in White Rock B. C. Canada so this would be close! I've got a couple of your CDs and they have been very inspiring. Great work! Bussy.

  • I am not Ronnie, 022852. You need to go ask him that in his own channel or he will not likely read it. Which ones of his CD's do you own?

  • sounds so awesome !

  • I love what Ronnie talks about in the beginning about how people have a tendency to ask abruptly from a harp player to "play something". It's just one of those things that people deem as unimportant yet it probably plagues a great amount of harp players out there. Excellent playing too as usual! :)

  • nice meeting you guys out here in Portland. i really enjoyed the workshop and listening to everyone play. i'm still here enjoying the rain :)

  • Yes, you got a nice taste of Oregon sunshine today for sure. I know I got nearly soaked in a downpour. I hope you got a real good nights sleep last night. Oh yea, Dave Payne told me to tell ya "dave payne says hey" and to tell to tell LaFonda that "dave Payne says hey."

  • Oregon Sunshine is Liquid....Oregonian's tend to rust rather than tan....

  • ronnie, my teacher, my friend, one great harp player

  • he's a great person with a good spirit!

  • You got that right. When I met Ronnie I found him to be incredibly laid back, genuine, and sincere. He has a kind of charismatic intensity that made me really appreciate his teaching style even that much more in person. The 3 most critical YT influences that got me serious about sticking with the instrument are: Ronnie Shellist, Jason Ricci, and Adam Gusow. I have yet to meet Jason and Adam in real life but am quite sure I will be impressed by them too.

  • thanks a lot for sharing.

    Steph.

  • It was a joy to share...you are welcome ;-D

  • I might have given up playing a while back if not for encouraging tutors like Ronnie. He has a real knack for encouraging Harmonica players to delve into what they need to focus on to develop musically. Thanks for posting this good tidbit. 5/5 Stars!

  • ditto
