I cannot understand the reasoning to this video. As one person has already said, if the account was overpaid why did you not show the Police and the electricity company workers the paid invoice? You were able to show it in the video (which to be completely honest, doesn't actually show any account being overpaid other than a cheque and letter saying you are now connected) and even then if the police are trying to arrest you, why try and resist? What is the point in resisting?

The arrested man was acting in a threatening manner, and he did resist for an extended period - my view would be that the baton was reasonable unless the blow was in the head/spine etc - it's not evident from the video. First of all, you do not own the electricity, it is a product supplied to us by the crown which we rent from them. Second off all, what makes you above the law? You tried to remove a man while he was working with high voltage, which could have killed yourself and the electrician. @knoxman1990 I do know the law you bell end I've just about finished a law degree. What is 'reasonable' is defined using an objective standard - DPP v Morgan House of Lords. Would a reasonable person of the public think that the police were justified in using such force?
I'd put money on a jury to hold that this was an unreasonable use of force. Many factors support this, for example: The disparity in the combined strength of two officers (one with a baton) against an unarmed man.

The arrested man was acting in a threatening manner, and he did resist for an extended period - my view would be that the baton was reasonable unless the blow was in the head/spine etc - it's not evident from the video. Police are instructed to hit only the arms or legs.

im sorry but this guys got what he deserved! im a kiwi, and people like this are the reason why i left and wont return, the police dont have enought power or resource to effectively do thier job. im all for freedom of speech, but im also for PAYING YOUR BILLS. say what you have to, but hay the cop said "if you interfere ill arrest you" you want to belligerent this is what you get. there are better ways to handle theses situations, remember the police are only doing what the are

@420jont Yeah bro, when I saw what some people had posted it made me sick to think that it has gotten this bad. I knew NZers were easily brainwashed but the comments on this video show that it is way worse than I thought. All the world cup drones make me sick also.
