you will be pleased when the link road is built, then you might see a few more aircraft, if not, you will be heading the same way as Duram tees valley ...
my father used to fly for Connie after he retired from Pan Am. I guess he needed some excitement in his life. living on the edge in aircraft that saw maintenance, uh, NEVER.
@TonyFirelli I wish I could do that, I'm petrified of flying, yet I love aircraft. Weird I know. Its nice to see Kalita and other cargos flying the first wave of 747. I dare say that this is even less now since this footage was shot. Great stuff though!
i think that the cause of that was both wind and pilot error..he lowered the nose instantly after landing,he was going too fast so the plane didnt have stability
Today a boeing 747 of Kalitta crashed at Brussels national Airport here in belgium (the boeing split in 2 parts).... I think there are some clips of it on youtube.
Jesus Christ! When it first touched down I thought 'well that wasn't so exciting, what was all the fuss about', then it leant right over and I was like S**T! Great filming, very smooth considering the wind. Thanks for sharing, Tom Hughes from MAN : )
i saw this too.. from Potteric Carr nature reserve, as it left Doncaster in the afternoon. Managed to get reasonable photos of it from there with my long lens camera.
LOL @ another day dsa and another jumbo!!!
like its something you see every few minutes!!

The pilot got a text from his girlfriend saying that they'd broken up just as he landed. No wonder he was trying to crash the plane.

I wouldnt get in a Kalitta 747 even if you gave me a thousand dollars. Looks like deathtrap.

Kalitta is a cargo company, and this 200 series they are operating is carrying freights. you will never get a chance to take a ride in it.
hadabenz 2 years ago 4
yah no kidding! A boeing 747-100 is scary old. Image how weak and fatigued the airframe would be.
xterrasesc 2 years ago
@RUBBERMOOG I would fly in a kallita 747 even if i paid! the only reason would be cause there arent many classic 747's flying anymore

Nothing wrong with the landing..i would blame cross-winds for lifting the wing and then dropping it......

i spoke to the pilot a week after this, his report
showed a blown tyre on the near side, he did an amazing job

looks like the left engine almost hit the runway , why was the plane learching to left side after landing it came in very smoothly before touch down
