That guy is an idiot lol...and besides nobody slaps a baby's bottom to make it cry anymore. 3:05 "Oh my God...it's a puddle!" ROTFL...what a wimp lol...her water broke, even I know that!
@zombieholic there was another episode where a 12 year old delivered his baby sister. he kept so calm and cool, handled it like a pro. this dad could use some lessons from him
I think it's sad that so many people see childbirth as a medical emergency. A normal, healthy childbirth is not an emergency. Lots of babies are born healthy at home without any issues. Hospitals are not essential in a norma brith.
@babyfatcatk i have to respectfully agree and disagree with you. yes most childbirth scenarios turn out normal. but there could be countless possibilities that could go wrong, like the baby could get stuck, have fetal heart tone distress, the mom could lose a lot of blood, the moms bp could drop or peak to the pt of arrhythmia....etc....thats why medical personnel are essential to be present just in case....they need to monitor both mother and child....inutero and not...
@charmedchchi Medical personnel, yes. An experienced midwife and/or doula counts too. I never said medicl personnel are not essential, but rather that hospitals are not essential. I live in the Netherlands, and here the majority of babies are born safely at home, under the supervision of qualified medical personnel. :-)
@babyfatcatk i had to have an emergency c-section when my baby got stuck when i was pushing. the baby went into fetal distress. i was very glad i was in the hospital when that happened or my daughter might not have made it.
@babyfatcatk yes but think of all the things that may go wrong, the baby may have heart, brain, or other organ problems and be unable to get the medical assistance in time. that's one thing people think about. What about the mother? What if there was a complication she didn't know about, there are stories of women dying during child birth. You have a point, but there are still many reasons to go to a hospital, and think of it as a medical emergency.
my sister was born exactly the same as this my mum almost had her on toilet she ended up being delivered on the laundry floor by my father she had the cord wrap around her neck though but luckily my father managed to get the cord away from her neck
Nah it would of seemed real than. because these are suppose to be reinactments of real happenings, and if he were in them it would seem more of a movie real than anything.
There's a scene that was deleted from this version of the episode where the husband had to disconnect the phone, take it upstairs to the bedroom, and call 911 back.
I love how he keeps wiping his forehead with the hand he had in her vagina -.-

Geez man. Some guys only seem to be masters at one part of the birth process. Donating the sperm.
Once they've accomplished that, they go all to pieces.

@babyfatcatk
It actually can be an emergency. Giving birth to babies at home without someone who has had any medical training with you can be quite dangerous.

Pause at 1:30. Shatner should be standing there saying "The call came into 911 dispatcher Richard Copp"

Huh?
Rachiann 2 years ago
This incident took place in Hunting Beach California- which is where the dispatch center is located in which Shatner makes his intro's.
So some often think he should have made a cameo appearance in this segment.

The title of this segment is "911 Dad's Baby" and it's from Episode 112. Also, you cut the ending off.
allgood2000 2 years ago
1:51 i definitely recognized the door that fuhrman came out of to go into the dispatch center, shatner is seen coming out sometimes.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
the other segment you're trying to think of is with a black family where a medic dressed as santa delivers a baby.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
this is called "Father's baby"
gregorkrause 2 years ago
1:32 shatner needs to make a cameo appearance in this segment lol since it's huntington beach california.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
1:34 i'm sure i've seen that dispatcher in intros by shatner also.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
btw the dispatch center looks like the one shatner hosts in, shatner should've made a cameo in this segment rather than off-camera lol

This is the fourth segment from episode 112.
