Just touch it on the string (don't press it down to the fret) and slide it from note to note. Just mess around with it and you'll get the technique.

@chaucha12345 its called a slide...simply stated and what it does is give the slide transition between notes. you slip it on a finger, pick a string [or more], and let the slide do the rest. Its what you hear in Freebird -Lynyrd Skynyrd.

It's not a drop D tuning. Just drop each string a note so instead of standard E tuning, it's a D# tuning.

Hey Mul - what is your tuning? Dropped D?

An E Flat tuning. Just drop every string down one note from a Standard E tuning and that's it.  Hope this helps you mate.

I agree to that 100%... tabs are a good resource for a general idea or a last resort. But like me, I'm learning Van halen songs by watching his concerts on DVD like 10X over... And you realize things aren't as hard as what it looks like for tabs...
