I can't believe that Malika Pukhraj was so beautiful when she was young. The Camera resolution was not such improved in those days. Can any body tell me whose photo is this.
Of course the poem was wonderfully singed by Malika, this song was always young like this photo.
khad-khadh radio ceylone pe yeh gana aksar 7-8 baje shaam ko chalta tha, mere jehan me ye gaana basa hua hai, bachpan ki poori picture chalne lagti hai, aansoo rukte hi nahi, hamara janam safal hai, ki hum is cheez ko sun sake hai......
This is a gem. Something from out of this world. A rare treat. A heavenly experience. I sort of go into samadhhi instantly. A masterpiece. From my childhood days this has been one of my favorites. I can go on listening this gazal for ever. I,m grateful to all concerned. My highest regards for Malika Pukhraj and Hafeez Jalandhari.
Mirzaji, trust you to post the original and the best version. Whose face is it posted here? Charming........... Is it possible to find the lyric transliterated in Roman script? Or even Hindi? I'd love to sit with an Urdu dictionary to decipher the meaning of each and every word, and then take it to an Urdu teacher to explain the meaning idiomatically.........How old is the song? I remember if from my childhood.
The song encompasses whole of our lives. When you are young how you feel.Only those who have aged little bit or coming close to it will experience the obliquity and hidden beauty of this song. What a voice.Uncomparable.Hafeez Jalendheri a genius poet rest in peace and Malika Pukhraj also RIP
This song encompasses twhole of our lives only those who have aged little bit will understand it as it is so true. This sond becomes immortal with sweet voice of late Malika Pukhraj.May God bless her and Hafeez Jalandheris,(the poet) soul in peace.
EXCELLENT SONG. Thanks a lot for the upload. 1950s-to 1990s was such a beautiful time in my life. Life was so simple, everybody had ample time to walk, to mix with others & not just talk like idiots on cellphones or work like donkeys or sit in front of idiot box...
Wah mirzaji. Absolutely original. When I was young I would listen a ghazal in the same tune.Uth saqi mah o wosh pila-rootha howa dilbar mana-Dilbar mana mil kar peien- milkar piien milkar jein- . Fasli baharan aagai-- har khushk o tar pe chha gai-jaam o sabo takra gai- maikash nashe mein aagai. I dont remember but in a melodious voice. Thanks a lot
Beautiful.I'm a Bengali Hindu & don't really understand everything the words imply. But it has touched a chord in me & I know the song is great.I was in Jalandhar a few months ago & the person I thought of there was Hafeez Jalandhari. In Amritsar I thought of Sa'adat Hasan Manto. In Hyderabad,I've discussed this song with Shiv K. Kumar & he remembers seeing Hafeez Jalandhari recite it with great gusto in Lahore in pre-partition days.I wonder why there's so much ill-will between India & Pakistan.
Bravo for your comments. Peoples like you are rare in a sence that they appreciate other peoples cultures like the olden days. The hatered between India & pakistan is spawned and fanned by extremist elements from both sides, maily the corrupt politicians. I wish you well and may you live in peace and harmony with all mankind.
