  • My God, I could listen to this for ever!

  • In 1979 she toured Uganda. I was a little boy in Moroto Primary School in Grade 6. I saw her play live. It was a memorable occasion. I had never heard such an angelic voice, the music speaks for itself. They did not have computers to arrange the music, yet she produced music that is eternal for generations to come. Even at my tender age I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Ndaya is a piece of music that draws tears in my eye whenever I hear it. Go well Queen!

  • (Biography from .talktalk dot co uk) Born M'Pongo Landu, 5 June 1956, Kinshasa, Zaire, d. 1989. Crippled by polio as a young child, but, determined to become a professional vocalist, Love overcame her disability and began working at the nightclubs in the Zairean capital of Kinshasa in her mid-teens.

  • By the mid-70s she was known throughout the country as La Voix Du Zaire, and in 1977 was invited to represent her country at the pan-African arts and culture festival, FESTAC, in Lagos, Nigeria, where she appeared alongside OK Jazz.

  • She released her first album, L'Afrique Dance, the same year. On the 1980 set La Voix Du Zaire she was accompanied by a galaxy of stars including Jules Kamga, Vicky Edimo and Eko Roosevelt - some of whom were also featured on the follow-up Femme Commercante.

  • In 1984, she drafted in Les Quatre Etoiles' Bopol and Wuta May for the superb Basongeur. Later that year, she toured widely in Europe, supporting fund-raising activities for the International Year Of The Child. She died unexpectedly in 1989, following the release of the critically-acclaimed Partager.

  • Superbe orchestration !

  • This song reminds me of my late Dad and his wonderful friends...I listened to it home, in the car, when he took us to school, church etc... makes me wanna cry yet happy too...I miss U Dad...God bless U,,

  • @fgumo. Mpongo Lova used to have her own band named Tcheke Tcheke Love.

    God bless you

  • This is what I call music from the soul. Well composed and arranged. This was certainly Africa's golden generation

  • Wow! Mpongo love, sometimes I feel I am in this dot.com generation by mistake. That is a well composed and cool music

  • Home sweet home. Reminds me of my childhood, growing up in Nairobi listening to Anunda Sakwa on KBC. Long live Africa!

  • Though i speak nor understand Lingala, i love and feel this song! It takes me back to childhood, i remember my Father and late Mother in the living room grooving to this fabulous song. My parents spent time in Zaire and fell in love with the music made there, i'm a grown man now, with a baby boy whom i will introduce to this style of pure African Music. African Till I Am Dead Buried

  • Mpongo Love rocks! R.I.P.

  • i wasn't born when this song came out, but it is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever listened to. I love Afrika. Nakupenda sana Afrika. She must have been a beautiful person when she was alive...I can tell from her voice and charisma.

  • @jnyerere She was indeed a very nice person

  • Eloko ya solo. Ya mikolo na mikolo! Tres Bien Mama Mpongo Love! RIP.

  • namubari nangai mpongos love kweri, were are the new blood who can produce such like her, remainds me of those days when africa was free from AIDs

  • Can someone remind me which band she belonged to? she has the best voice, the very voice that make us v,ery unique. History says that music or singing originated from the Bantus of Central $ Southern Africa, if it's true then this is testament to to it. Mpongo, Baniel, Nana, Mbilia and Yvonne Chaka Chaka were great. This may explain why the best singers in the west too are of African origin.

  • sniff sniff!!!!!!! good good merçi à toi amour!!!

  • ha na kanisi lisusu haaaaaaaa te bravo maman esika oza r i p

  • exellent song

  • @mureithijgx

  • In 1999 my high school in Meru [Kenya] performed this classic as a set piece and won either the national title or second runners up. I doubt a Bebe Cool, Amani or any other 'hip-hop artiste's song will ever do the same.

  • @moranih Above on You tube search ...type....Mpongo Love (English) The song will appear....sung by her in Lingala... but someone has done a good job of writing the English lyrics/ words for those of us who are not good in Lingala..Cheers and enjoy...

  • What harmony of melodic Mpongo Love

  • How old is this song? Kali sana - takes me back to early 80's, I think, about 82.

  • Damn! Some serious stuff here. That voice is out of this world. What happened to realm singing like this?

  • @pwanyonyi song is from 70's, used to sing it with my bros and friends..i think 1977.

  • Mpongo Love was from DRC,and was not blind. I like your music.

  • Boy-oh Boy! Those days and the years of melody, nothing could beat the sweet voce of Mpongo Love. There was no Lingala music without this song

  • this song must be from Timboctou, The oldest city on earth.

  • I was in form two-the first record i ever bought-in with love my first love-always will be my song-RIP MPONGO LOVE

  • just a quick question was she blind? because i am looking for a singer i believe she was from congo. she was blind and very beautiful

  • Mpongo Love wasn't blind. However she was striken with poli and used the weelchair at certain point. In the end, after some medical help, she was able to walk with help.

RIP Mpongo love

  • Sina mengi but we can reclaim our past with the sweet memories everyone had back then yes we are out of our motherland but let us save and re invest there when we are in our fifties we shall relax and listen to these songs and smile, Aluta Continua

  • Love Mpongo pourquoi tu ns a quitté si tot? I wish u still alive. Ta musique nous manque tellement....ca me rapel tellement de choses et puis mon Congo me manque vraiment, c'est difficile de vivre en étranger..

  • Merci Zaico 1.

  • shame to lose the singers like this women,so rest in peace mpongo landu,

  • Many memories.I never knew what the song meant but I can tell you reading the translation just now is like I knew! When in Nairobi, go to a night club called SIMMERS,has a nightly live music, three bands alternate playing all the old classics like this one. Recently I saw Super Mazembe there. the great invasion of Zairean music in Kenya in 1970s, 1980s left a great legacy in Nairobi. other than Kinshasha, Nairobi was second home to Lingala music, may be more than Paris.

  • Damn right!!

  • Ndaya by Mpongo Love.Translated for engish friends

Iknew that we will finally stick together, my husband and I, like a belt with a pent. We got married, stoped the empty talkers. This marriage of us till dearth do us apart.

Oh me Ndaya, I know no rival. This marriage of mine knows no unfaithfulness.

In this marriage of mine I'm firmly rooted like a flag with my lifted arm, Let them talk, they will be ashamed. They schemed but lost at last.

As my heart goes on, I'm reassured of my man's love.
