I personally know that the current wait at US nursing schools is about 2 years. I also know many people who had nursing as their first choice going to oter majors like Biology just because they don't want to postpone going to school for another 2 years. I think the policies of Bush and Clinton for not doing anything to increase the intake of nursing students were deliberate attempts to kill the healthcare industry so that they could import more foreign nurses.
Are you on dope. There are 500000 nurses short if the next 7 years are taken into consideration. Do u think this moron president will be able to generate 500000 nurses in two days or AT THIS POINT ACCORDING TO YOU. As far as the oppurtunity goes, the oppurtunity is always there. Even if he imports nurses over the next 10 years there will be a huge shortfall and oppurtunties in nursing we were since the last10 years. Im into this profession since the last 20 years.Ask me.shortage is critical now
more than 50% of nurses in the US right now(+physical therapist) are not US born.They have been imported/immigrated.How can obama fix something in 2 years. what hasnt been fixed in the last 50 years.Dos he evn understand how comited these foriegn educated nurses/PT's are,who are keeping their helthcre running.People with BritneySpears atitude cant be trained in 2 years to replace these highly skilled immigrans who were swamped by books,when this new OBAMA nursing generation was busy getting laid
