More whales are killed by accident than intentionally. Several Pacific Rim nations realized & altered shipping routes during whale migrations; cut the death tolls a bunch. If SS would use their "knowledge" to find more of the routes, they'd save FAR more whales than stopping whaling.

The Sea Shepherds are there for several goals, the key one is PUBLICITY. To open some eyes and raise awareness on what's happening in the Whale's sanctuary. After watching this show, people will Googled it. So that's a victory. Only then will laws be changed. People have been blind to all this and that's how the japanese wanted to keep it.
