I'm French and you lost against us, but guys, I would lose a thousand time just just to see a victory like this against English. That was spectacular!
As an American w/ Irish ties I've always rooted for Ireland in every major sporting event! When I first got into rugby I knew 4 letters before all others: IRFU. Up until 2007 I had always liked rugby but it was that year's 6 Nations tournament, that match against the auld enemy, that made me a serious legitimate fan! Call it a combination of many factors it was that tournament, that match, that made rugby my #1 favorite sport over American football! I really wish I'd gotten into rugby as a kid!
Without sounding too negative I really do believe the opportunity was missed that day. We ballzed it up in the last 5 minutes when we should have won. Doh!
straight from your comment to jkino78 --"And you still live in dreamland thinking none of this exists. I think you do not live in reality, but you will when muslims are dictating where you can and cannot go, or when African gangs rape your gf and kill you"-- sounds awfully racist to me and i reckon it proves my point :)
Xenophobe - a fear of that which is alien, based on an irrational unfounded idea.
So where do any of my comments show I fear or hate any other race. Nothing but comments from Irish news media, which you are calling them xenophobic too. Hey Ireland you are reading xenophobic newspapers.
@waaeaa good to see you looked it up. Anyway, would really hate to be you, I doubt you enjoy life very much. I along with a great deal of our fellow Irishmen am an emigrant, so I tend to view immigration differently. You see things from just one side and as long as you do that you're never really going to be happy with much. Stop whinging and carry on....oh and by the way, enjoy the Rugby! Great multi-cultural sport that it is! ;)
No need to, that was my own definition. I would hate you to be me too, I prize, difference, and the keeping of difference. Vive la difference, in our own lands. I do not see things from one side, I think you do, and are simply justifying your own position.
I am quite happy with my own life, but sad for the suffering of my own ppl. Anybody who is not, is truly asleep, is not truly alive, and cannot truly enjoy life, with pleasure comes pain. That's life.
@waaeaaalso the trends in other European countries aren't exactly fact based are they? You got Italy completely wrong for one. What is your solution? All Irish people in the world come back to Ireland? No inter breeding? Where does that leave my family? Does that mean that my wife shouldn't be allowed to move to Ireland if she so pleases? It's ridiculous, it begs insult as an argument. I feel like I'm arguing with a 2yr old, not an attack Waaeaa, but as you say yourself, each to his own(opinion)
I love the way, you sidestep the issues I raised and instead bring in a fake, attack on the person. Any legitimate raising of a concern. A concern borne out by facts, and by trends in other European countries.....is not a whinge, of course ppl who hate what ppl say always try to call them whingers or mad, ppl who have lost the argument always resort to name-calling.
That's ok, ppl who speak the truth must expect that, it kind of points to the unhappiness within yourself though. Gotcha
@waaeaa sidestepped what issue? The inexistant communist regime in Arabia? Come on, you haven't really made any valid points. You take one sided statistics and run with it. Races have been mixing the world over since time began and that if we look at the percentages the Irish population has one of the highest emigration rates of any country over the last 50yrs. As an Irishman, each to his own sounds quite silly. As to pointing out that you seem to be whinging, not exactly an attack now is it?
Oh and rugby...not exactly multicultural, it is devised by one culture, British. And played by many different separate culturally distinct teams.
Played by nations of homogenous ppl against other nations. Up until that is you change the people of the nations that played it. You can equally say the same about any other sport. If we change the nature of countries back to what they were, then every sport becomes indigenously homogenous. And the sport is no longer multicultural.
@waaeaa "So no, sport per se, is neither multicultural or anything, it is a fuction of the demographic make up of a country."
the Barbarians? The British and Irish lions? Club teams? not exactly an iron clad argument there waaeaa, goodnight and good luck. All the best to you and yours, lets leave it at that and hope that things can improve...for Irish and immigrants alike.
@waaeaa you are posting comments all about foreign people doing bad things, on a video that is about a sporting event.. and the majority of your videos on your page are about the "problem" of immigration to ireland. sounds to me like you are in fact a xenophobe.
@waaeaa straight from one of your comments to jkino78 -- "And you still live in dreamland thinking none of this exists. I think you do not live in reality, but you will when muslims are dictating where you can and cannot go, or when African gangs rape your gf and kill you"-- sounds awfully racist to me and i reckon it proves my point :)
this is purely a video highlighting one great day for sportsfans and nothing else. so 'waaeaa', could you keep your political anti-immigrant propaganda out of these videos and just post them on some relevant bullshit video where maybe youll find some twat that cares. and jkino78, stop responding to this rubbish as well. strictly rugby.
@corsellus you're right of course, had started out well but kind of got caught up in it. Irritating and ignorant comments are hard not to respond to. Anyway, was a great day for Rugby and thank fck there was a cultured crowd who showed the right respect and created a fantastic atmosphere.
Hey stalinist commissar, thought controller. I was talking to someone else. They replied to me, so I responded to them, if you don't like it, go to Arabia, Africa, or some communist regime, where, I am sure you will feel at home, telling ppl to shut up. Then again, they just might take offence at a communist wannabe, tell you to shut up, and throw you in the gulags. You'd practically think you are in a soviet theme park.
@waaeaa The Irish Times - Tuesday, November 9, 2010.... about seven years ago, the gang leader, Christy Griffin (41), originally from Canon Lillis Avenue, Dublin, was accused of raping a young woman repeatedly from the time she was a child. Griffin has since been convicted of rape and is serving a life sentence.. A volatile and dangerous gangland feud ensued involving not only five murders, but numerous non-fatal shootings and pipe bomb and grenade attacks.
You miss the point, this is IRELAND, we are Irish people. Every single country and nation of ppl will produce all types of ppl. The point is, why do we have to bring in the potential of foreign criminals also. We have our own bad apples, that is no reason for immigration, and saying oh well, theres bad ppl everywhere.
We have enough of a problem, as does every country, dealing with its own criminals, without having to sort out the costs of immigration and importing criminals.
@nzl123 You serious, there has been a lot of trouble with northern Ireland and republic or Ireland for a good 40 years and go over to the British government and say ''why r ther 2 irelands why not have 1?'' and you'll be executed.
No booing on the english national anthem- one reason- anyone in that stadium on the green side was west brit- to be honest they've been on an extended holiday in Ireland- time to go home!!
@1974paulv Or because they had some intelligence, not lowering themselves to bloody jeering. Instead they belted out their pride through Amhrán na Bhfiann then kicked the shit out of England.. Grow the fuck up
@rottwieler20 we've been emigrating all over the world for years, as well as honest workers we've also exported our fair share of criminals and there are Irish organised crime syndicates all over New York and Boston. Maybe you don't remember Ireland before the Celtic Tiger, but without any imigrants we still had crime, scumbags like the one who killed Veronica Guerin for example.. Crime comes from desperation, poverty,segregation, not race in my opinion.
@waaeaa regarding my children they're growing up in Europe, I live in Italy where there is far more immigration than in Ireland. What they face can be seen as positive or a problem, depends on how flexible their outlook on life is. I'd like to think they'll be open minded.
They can be open minded all they want. That does not change the facts of what is happening in Europe. There are now no-go areas for indigenous Europeans in black and arab areas of their own cities. You really need to read about what is happening.
It does not matter how 'open-minded' you are. That ignores the reality that other cultures protect their own culture and the territory they acquire.
Parts of Brussels have been renamed with African names. Would you support that in dublin?
@waaeaa you need to look at why a minority feels the need to close itself in and try and acquire strength in numbers. When Irish emigrants found themselves constantly judged soley on the fact that they were Irish, they formed Ghettos, South Boston, Shepards Bush, Hells Kitchen etc. They became notorious and dangerous places to go. With time, and mixing, people learned about the Irish, that we're not all alike and they opened their minds. Everything starts small, even hope, do the research
New york and certain parts of british cities were multi-ethnic so this need to bond came from competition for resources. Something that will also happen here. It was also a different time.
Irish who go there now do not form such gangs and haven't since those days.
Also the countries the Irish went to are european made political entities, what African or pakistani lands did we go to en masse, where we would change the face of the population? NONE.
@waaeaa Crime is present in every large city, the fact that immigrants are in the mix is due to the poor conditions they find themselves in. I doubt black docters go raping people..unlike good old white priests! The human race is made up of good and bad, it's the only division that needs to be underlined.
@waaeaa You can't start taking an interest in history when it suits you. The reason Africans are coming over here is because of the mess Europe made there in the first place. Oil has been the cause of far more atrocities than any black man. I'm not a tree hugger (a little off the race subject) but I do look at all the angles. Irish sold indian scalps to the English in the early colonization days
Africans were butchering and killing Africans, long before Europeans got there. There also would not have been any slave trade if Africans had not be slavers to their own ppl first. It was Africans who collected their own ppls and sold them off to Europeans. They were probably better treated by Europeans in more instances. In any case it was white europeans who fought to end slavery, and first thought about such ideals.
And aren't you forgetting the Arab slave trade 80-100million blacks taken from africa as slaves. Saudi Arabia only agreed to end slavery in 1968. millions of white european slaves taken from Europe including the muslim raid in Cork, carting off about 400 people. All except 2 I think, never to be heard from again
@waaeaa "Irish who go there now do not form such gangs and haven't since those days."...are you absolutley sure? What are you basing this on? A little misguided I would say. My brother in law is ex DEA, right up there with the blacks and colombians you have the Italians and Irish. You could also look at the corruption in our government over the years...or is that not crime for you? It's what's contributing to the state of affairs at the moment in Ireland
The Irish gangs in America, are not from Ireland, they are Irish-Americans. I know because I am Irish, and it is known this is the nature of Irish emigration to America, maybe their future generations may get involved in it, but that is not how Irish are, in America, any Irishman knows this.
Once again, corruption in our government is crime done by IRISH ppl, these ppl are born and bred here, every country has its bad apples. How is that an excuse for allowing immigration.
We have to deal with our own criminals, and have the money to improve our own ppl, not deal with more criminals from abroad and then spend more money on immigrants and all the costs that immigration invloves.
In a nation of 4 million it will only take a small number of immigrants and a small amount of time before the whole country looks like London. And certain parts east london has hardly any whites if any at all, living there. If you think that is great and part of being open minded then you are a bigot and deluded and in fact a racist against whites.
@waaeaa The mafia problem in Italy is far more serious than any immigration problem, but I understand that Italy is also a case apart. If you look at Ireland you don't really have to go to far into the past, Colin Meehan, the General, the Monk et al are all white and Irish born. A scumbag's a scumbag and it doesn't come from race.
every indigenous society will have their own criminals, that is no excuse for immigration and the relinquishing of sovereign territory, which eventually street by street become owned by arabs, Africans etc. In Belguim, Africans have even renamed streets to African names.
And you still live in dreamland thinking none of this exists. I think you do not live in reality, but you will when muslims are dictating where you can and cannot go, or when African gangs rape your gf and kill you
We never had the same kind of crime or type of violence in the 80's that we have there today, and that is down to the dumbing down and xboxing of society. Increase in violence and sexual okaying leads to increase perception that it is ok. And increase in that behaviour.
There is a reason the advertising industry exists, they acknowledge the power of images.
There is no need for any non europeans to come to europe, in fact by doing so, you delay real helping of their countries and you also sink the lifeboat from which that aid comes.
That is exactly what your naive tree-hugging nonsense will end up with, no lifeboat that brings the aid, and no aid to africa, coz the lifeboat is sunk.
You are talking about Italy today. Try lokking at it, in 15yrs time, there will be more exclusively black and arab areas. In certain areas, Italian people have had to patrol their own streets, from immigrant crime.
Problems in the 3rd world are not solved by immigration, they need to be solved IN the 3rd world.
immigration is a tool used by globalists to destroy the final obstacle of national identity to have constant access to mobile cheap world labour - do the research
@waaeaa Italy by the way is about 20yrs ahead of where Ireland is now immigration wise. Italian people have a huge crime problem, it comes from the mafia not the immigrants...again, your research is a little off
Thats bullshit, not only is there a mafia problem there is also crime from immigrants. And if you look at London, Birmingham, Paris, Malmo and any other city where there is a large immigrant population. There are now no-go areas. This is fact. You of course are not counting the now settled ethnic non european populations who now own parts of Europe and keep their own culture
@waaeaa crime is a problem, it's a part of human nature and is generally a result of poverty and frustration. Of course some of the points you make are valid. You seem to be confused as to what a bigot is but lets not get into that for now. I personally don't care what colour a person is as long as they behave in a rational manner.
@waaeaa by the way what are you basing your crime statistics in Italy on? I live here and know for a fact that the most serious criminal and social problems come from the mafia. Do you know what's going on in Naples at the moment? Nothing to do with immigrants but costing millions!
Once again you miss the point. Every country has things like crime, it is this exact reason, that every country needs to spend money on making it's own country and it's own people better and have a better quality of life.
Introduce immigration, and now you have to draw resources and money away from your own ppl, ppl who ancestors fought, bled and sweated to cut out a piece of territory so that their descendants could have a better quality of life.
they did not fight or die so that the sons and daughters of foreign ppl, who had nothing to do with gaining that territory and sacrificing for that territory. So money that could be spent on dealing with your own criminals, your own elderly, your own sick ppl now has to go on, dealing with immigration processing, immigration, lawyers, crime, etc, etc, etc.
The ppl who lose out are the descendants of the ancestors who fought and died for their own kind.
All fucking Immigrants out of our great-nation meaning no fucking Black africans of any kind or sort no Nigerians Dutch and Yanks no Romanian bums and beggers no Chinese and Pakie workers no Polish and other Eastern-European scum and most definitley no fucking cunting Inbred English British bastards.
This is what makes me soo proud to be Irish! Despite the hurt, despair and pain caused in Croke park many years ago by the British, we were still able to show respect! We have been called scumbags all our lives by the Brits! I think this says it all, we didnt succumb to them, once again we stood tall! xxx

Th english are called sheep-shagger here, because they acutally shag sheep, not joke about it like the other countries.
When Ireland beat you english limeys next week gay Johno will have to pick another 15-ex public schoolboys. Stop the genry system and you limeys might actually improve for once.
@Knigrgdrad Im irish myself my grandfathers fough for indpendance and yes i dod think ireland will win but why are you going on about something that happnened 1000 years ago talk about rugby not conquests
@unimployed oh right so invading a country several times smaller than yours than causing unimaginable hurt with barbaric cruelty is a form of bravery is it? saxon prick
Hahahahahah. Your such a pathetic, insecure, cowardly, dickhead. I come from a very rural part of England, not a public schoolboy for miles, and believe me dick, you would not say what you say on youtube in any pub in my area....Your such a big boy posting vile crap on youtube...Say it to someones face like a real man would. Ireland beat Engalnd fair enough, I played the game for 30 years so know a little about it, but believe me dickhead, they did not get smashed.
I did not say I would, so what the fuck are you on about idiot. I have too much respect for the Irish to come out with such vile rubbish. People like you just love to be the hard man on youtube, pathetic little dick.
Rugby was NOT the first foreign sport to be played in Croke Park. American Football & Boxing (Muhammad Ali) took place there years ago. Also the GAA was quite happy to have Rock concerts in their "hallowed ground" together with the drug taking that goes with such concerts!
@johneharold the ban wasn't regarding foreign sports, just english ones. Hallowed isn't supposed to be interpreted in the religious sense, it's a figure of speech. Drug taking hardly comes into it. Do you suggest banning rock concerts?
My Irish Pride I Will Not Hide My Irish race I Will Not Disgrace My Irish Blood Flows Hot And True My Irish Peeps I Will Stand By You Thru Thick And Thin Till The Day We Die Our Irish Flag Always Stands So High I Shout This Poem Louder Than All The Rest Coz Everyone Knows We Irish Are The Best..
I cried at amrhan na bhfiann , the passion was so huge it was unreal , no wonder the scoreline was the way it was , i was so physched meself and woulda dumped tackled vickery if i had of got the chance !

yeah cause the fucking germans said SORRY to the world and took responsability for what they done. unlike you. you english are proud of the rape and murder of a country for 600 years
i dont think anyone has any respect for you english. you are very self centered mean hearted race of people. your country needs to grow up and take responsibility for what you have done to a lot of countries in this world
Come on, you can't take one persons opinion (namely 762SLR762) to be the general consensus. How are my generation of people taught of equality and open-mindedness meant to take responsibility for something that we had no say in and happened over 80 years ago? Thats like saying the Germans should still all shoulder the responsibility for WWII. We have all learnt to forgive and forget for what previous generations have done and moved on.
i couldnt say it better myself. its good to see humility in the English and of course we dont all hold it against the current crop of Englishmen, its good to see common sense from you!
@berrier123. why should they take responsibility for what their ancestors did. its not as if they did it themselves.you wouldn't like having to apolagise for every bad deed your personal ancestors did. besides i think if the brits never came here in the first place, regardless of all the bad that happened, our country wouldn't be as great as it is today.
and by the way im irish and just to tell ye it was the black and tans who killed them, but the black and tans were mercenaries who where certainly ex british army. but thats not the point the point is they were sent by the british government. i can admit the ira done horrible things in the past 40 years. but the way you english talk about what your country done to us is disgraceful. the ira from the 70 on are pricks but what they done can never make up 4 what u done to us. just grow up 762SLR.
Flannery is a legend :) and 762slr or whatever ur name is, go away and invade another country because can i tell u a secret???? keep it quiet though, no one likes you.... you're babbling on about the I.R.A killing english spies, well welcome to our world for HUNDREDS of years...
as an irishman i say this...thanks for your words. i take them at face value. of course it was not you, nor your opinions or actions as an englishman that we are angry with. the idea of what "your" people done to us is hard to take historically and very hard to ignore, however im sure im not the only irishman that realises that it is not you as a person but more the idea of your peoples oppression against us which is hard to take. but thats in the past so lets grow up.
No defending players do not have to get out of the way as long as they 'stand their ground'. Attacking players do not have to avoid. In the above incident O'Driscoll tried to avoid and there is no way you can argue that Armitage stood his ground, he was running towards O'Driscoll. He was not initially in O'Driscolls path so therefore could not stand his ground, Armitage HAD TO STAY OUT of the way, which he didn't.
Paying off the ref??? England were guilty of many cheap shots in the second half. Very few were seen by the ref, even though he was right beside them. Flutey led with a high shoulder, also late, and made no attempt to tackle legally, Armitage also tackled high on O'Gara, Armitage then took O'Driscoll out illegally, Borthwick shoved a media person for no reason other than he got in the way when Borthwick ran towards him for no reason. All these happened within two minutes!
As for squeaking a one point win, Ireland were by far the greater team. England only had one attack-last minute try. Scoreline didnt reflect the game. O'Gara missed 11 easy points and we still won.
What on earth are you talking about??? O'Driscoll tried to avoid Armitage, he side-stepped at the last minute. Armitage ran into him leading with the shoulder. I know what I'm talking about as I just watched it again. As for signalling the ref(????) he was on the ground receiving medical attention. How he could signal to ref when he couldnt stand up is beyond me.
No, O'Driscoll didnt have to run around him, Armitage deliberately got in his way. Illegal. If the was the case then kicking would never be done!
i didn't mention the black and tans, it was the British army who murdered the innocent civilians in Croke Park. The Black and Tans didn't arrive in Ireland until 1919! Pick up a history book.
The IRA killed 14 spies, your Army killed 12 innocent civilians, including one Michael Hogan GAA player from Tipperary who most certainly didn't kill the G-men
762SLR762, Armitage should have been sent off. O'Driscoll ran into him because he cut off the shortest route to th ball. That's illegal. Care was sent off cos he tackled marcus horan in a ruck whenhe was standing up with his back turned to Care. It was a disgrace.
The 2 times ye've played in Croke Park ye've made an absolute disgrace of yourselves. Whereas we welcomed ye into a ground where the British army murdered 12 people and wounded 60. So in terms of maturity, Ireland is superior.
LOL You take the time out to come on to a Video that really has nothing to do with you and feel the need to explain why England is superior? Sounds like you're the one with the inferiority complex mate.
The way i saw it Armitage made sure he would be in his way. I didnt see BOD signal the ref but if he did it was a bit sneaky, that is for spice boy soccer players and i agree it has no place in rugby. If w win the slam today(i hope we do too obviously, cheers for your support by the way) i honestly think that overall we will have deserved it
Armitage deserved to be sent off in fairness, he clearly prevented what would have been an excellant chance fro O' Driscoll to get a try. The reason two were sent off was because of the shit england got away with earlier in the game, whilst the sending offs may have been harsh when viewed in isolation, when you look at the whole game england got no more then thay deserved. Your disliking of Croke Park seems to me to be irrational and to be honest not worth commenting on any further
Paying off the ref? Fuck off, if anyone paid the ref it was england. Hows it a dump? is it because it has a higher capacity then 'Fortress' twickenham?
Sorry you will have to do better than that, Hurling is on a different planet to cricket its all Instincts thats why you only can learn it from an early age.Anyone that sees it is totally captivated by it. Hurling is also oldest field game over 3k years. Gaa the governing body is something you will not find the like anywhere. Even the Yanks can stand by and say we are unique, never has a country so small has such an influence for the right reasons, your country opposite.
You really are slow, read back what you just said. You just stated my point for me!!!!. We have a sport here that very few people can play unless you grow up in it . Any fool can pick up a bat and throw a ball, just proved my point.
So please state one thing that is totally unique to your country!!!, that cant be found anywhere else.
no its proves that your culture is already dead, and the GAA keeps ours alive here.
And in another few years we will dominate the 6 nations year in year out. what happen in the Gaa was transfered to Rugby, Munster being a prime example
Thats the funny thing. Dont you worry i will stick to my games. Get use to the Red of Munster and Green of Ireland coming at you.
Hmmm french rugby must be going downhill if all them English wasters are leaving, ahaha.
Cause most people cant play it, you cant learn it. Cricket is about as much a sport as horse racing and F1, chess is more of a sport.
Fucking cycling you being serious???? ahaha.
No one in this country cares about running around a track.
You see that stadium an amatuer assocation built that.
Its isnt a debate cause you havent come up with one, only thing you have proven is how much a racist you are and i think your profile proves my point.
lol how many times have ye 2??????????. For 40m the mighty England lol. Get over yourself. Nearly 1/4 of this country plays OUR national games, we invented field sports.How many times in recent competition did England beat us in Football??? or rugby , You think rugby is tough try Hurling, 80k ppl watching amateurs play at a professional level for pride and honour. i see you like cricket haha funny stuff, shows the difference and whats wrong with your culture.

One we gave up more than we got, we lost our fishing industry, there is more oil in this country then in the UK.
This country had nearly full employment for a long time.
Listen ur a muppet and i'm only laughing at you.
I work for an IT company that deals with UK and Irish customers, English people can not find out a thing by themselves,i have yet to deal with an Irish customer that hasnt tired to research it first. Be funny if it wasnt so sad!!!!.
8.) We saved your arse from being dominated by French and Germans by voting no in lisbon, we have something in this country called freedom and the right to vote.
9) I would ever expect likes of you to understand so end of conversation.
Enjoy watching Ireland inferiorty against Wales, Munster have a total inferiority as well in Limerick we only lost 1 game in three years in Europe lol.
No matter what Irish do they do it 10 times better than an English man so get used to it.
Sounds like a Nazi talking, well 1 the English Empire did 10 times worse than nazi Germany all over the world .Tans where nearly all Eglish not scottish, thanks god they dont teach fiction is Irish schools.
And it was never ever part of the UK we never submitted once, 700 years we fought time and again.
IRA shot 14 international war criminals nothing more, when a tyrant makes up the rules, you tear up the rule book.
That's the thing, whether you acknowledge it or not the IRA's targets weren't civilians, they were members of the Crown's forces in Ireland. The fact they were unarmed is irrelevant, as intelligence officers they were recognised by the IRA as a serious threat to their operations.
As for blending into the background, it was the only option available to a small but dedicated group whose goal was the withdrawal of British troops from Ireland. As I've said, they wouldn't have stood....continued
Just want to say outright that I'm not a Republican apologist nor a member of any Republican group. I can't speak for every Irish person but I think the IRA of that era are considered freedom fighters as they targeted military personnel only. After the IRA splintered in 1969 it became a terrorist organisation intent on intimidating the Unionist population of N.I. as well as murdering them and British forces.
As for what to do when your enemy appears..continued
as civilians, I'd imagine counter intelligence would be the the first priority, gain info on members of the enemy and weed them out. The Auxies had a lot of success with this method and captured many IRA members alive. Again I can't imagine anyone would advocate killing civilians in the hope one or some were members of the IRA!
Anyway I originally came to watch a few rugby videos and ended up debating about the IRA! Ain't D'Internet wonderful?
You're right, it wasn't a war in the traditional sense. As I said the IRA would have been destroyed if they tried to attack the British Army in a conventional fight. Hence the term Guerilla warfare.
Also the IRA (of that era) were solely attacking military personnel and their informants, they didn't murder randomly like the British forces did in Croke Park. How were the British troops bound to any code that day when IRA targets had been military personnel and their informants?
Think you'll find the British murdered that day were British agents/officers and as such were considered a legitimate target. The Irish that were killed that day were innocent people watching a Gaelic football game. I doubt any right thinking person can justify the slaughter of innocent civilians in a "revenge" attack.
As for your "war is war" comment, the IRA would have never been able to win in a direct conflict with the British Army who they were better equipped and trained...continued
And as for getting steamed up about it, you'll generally find most Irish people are willing to talk about the events of Bloody Sunday 1920 in a historical context without resorting to Republican rhetoric and other banalities. Different times, different Governments. I'd suggest you do as the majority of us Irish here are doing, save your wrath for the PIRA and CIRA scumbags responsible for the killings of the British Soldiers at Massareene Barracks and the PSNI officer in Craigavon. Peace.
there's something about the irish and rugby that go hand in hand. it's special. but while it's our number 3 sport behind gaelic and soccer, it'll always be tough to reach our potential.
If the truth be known, I dont think its a case of the English feeling superior to the Irish, but the Irish feeling inferior to the English. And for the life of me, I never understood that. When the fiasco of the Italian presidency of the European Union was coming to an end, it was English newspapers, with a huge sigh of relief that said Europe was now in a safe pair of hands (referring to the Irish) Maybe our biggest battle is yet to be won, that of our own inferiority complex.
You are absolutely right. I think rule 42 was and is a sham. Imagine the outrage today if an Irish sport was banned from a field in England or the FAA decided that Irish players were not longer allowed play in the English league. We Irish are sometimes long on memory and short on sense, we want everything, but were not inclined to give anything. We criticize the English but expect them to defend us in a time of need.
It was a day to be proud of... Never in my experience has any anthem been met with disrespect. A proud moment indeed. Sean Kelly and all of the GAA people with sense and reasoning deserve some kind of award for building a bridge that no engineer could possibly manage. After all, we had our proudest sporting moment as a result.
I'm French and you lost against us, but guys, I would lose a thousand time just just to see a victory like this against English. That was spectacular!

@rdliwet7
Xenophobe - a fear of that which is alien, based on an irrational unfounded idea.
So where do any of my comments show I fear or hate any other race. Nothing but comments from Irish news media, which you are calling them xenophobic too. Hey Ireland you are reading xenophobic newspapers.
I think you are a factophobe
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa good to see you looked it up. Anyway, would really hate to be you, I doubt you enjoy life very much. I along with a great deal of our fellow Irishmen am an emigrant, so I tend to view immigration differently. You see things from just one side and as long as you do that you're never really going to be happy with much. Stop whinging and carry on....oh and by the way, enjoy the Rugby! Great multi-cultural sport that it is! ;)
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
That's life.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaaalso the trends in other European countries aren't exactly fact based are they? You got Italy completely wrong for one. What is your solution? All Irish people in the world come back to Ireland? No inter breeding? Where does that leave my family? Does that mean that my wife shouldn't be allowed to move to Ireland if she so pleases? It's ridiculous, it begs insult as an argument. I feel like I'm arguing with a 2yr old, not an attack Waaeaa, but as you say yourself, each to his own(opinion)
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
Gotcha
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa sidestepped what issue? The inexistant communist regime in Arabia? Come on, you haven't really made any valid points. You take one sided statistics and run with it. Races have been mixing the world over since time began and that if we look at the percentages the Irish population has one of the highest emigration rates of any country over the last 50yrs. As an Irishman, each to his own sounds quite silly. As to pointing out that you seem to be whinging, not exactly an attack now is it?
jkino78 1 year ago 4
@jkino78
And the sport is no longer multicultural.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
So no, sport per se, is neither multicultural or anything, it is a fuction of the demographic make up of a country.

A volatile and dangerous gangland feud ensued involving not only five murders, but numerous non-fatal shootings and pipe bomb and grenade attacks.
examples are easy to find and numerous

@jkino78
We have enough of a problem, as does every country, dealing with its own criminals, without having to sort out the costs of immigration and importing criminals.

rottwieler20 1 year ago
@rottwieler20 we've been emigrating all over the world for years, as well as honest workers we've also exported our fair share of criminals and there are Irish organised crime syndicates all over New York and Boston. Maybe you don't remember Ireland before the Celtic Tiger, but without any imigrants we still had crime, scumbags like the one who killed Veronica Guerin for example.. Crime comes from desperation, poverty,segregation, not race in my opinion.

@jkino78
You need to look down the line in 15yrs time to what your children will face, bcoz it is what many European kids are already facing.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa regarding my children they're growing up in Europe, I live in Italy where there is far more immigration than in Ireland. What they face can be seen as positive or a problem, depends on how flexible their outlook on life is. I'd like to think they'll be open minded.
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
Would you support that in dublin?
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa you need to look at why a minority feels the need to close itself in and try and acquire strength in numbers. When Irish emigrants found themselves constantly judged soley on the fact that they were Irish, they formed Ghettos, South Boston, Shepards Bush, Hells Kitchen etc. They became notorious and dangerous places to go. With time, and mixing, people learned about the Irish, that we're not all alike and they opened their minds. Everything starts small, even hope, do the research
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
NONE.
you are comparing apples with oranges
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa Crime is present in every large city, the fact that immigrants are in the mix is due to the poor conditions they find themselves in. I doubt black docters go raping people..unlike good old white priests! The human race is made up of good and bad, it's the only division that needs to be underlined.
jkino78 1 year ago
@waaeaa You can't start taking an interest in history when it suits you. The reason Africans are coming over here is because of the mess Europe made there in the first place. Oil has been the cause of far more atrocities than any black man. I'm not a tree hugger (a little off the race subject) but I do look at all the angles. Irish sold indian scalps to the English in the early colonization days
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
Africans were butchering and killing Africans, long before Europeans got there. There also would not have been any slave trade if Africans had not be slavers to their own ppl first. It was Africans who collected their own ppls and sold them off to Europeans. They were probably better treated by Europeans in more instances. In any case it was white europeans who fought to end slavery, and first thought about such ideals.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
And aren't you forgetting the Arab slave trade 80-100million blacks taken from africa as slaves. Saudi Arabia only agreed to end slavery in 1968. millions of white european slaves taken from Europe including the muslim raid in Cork, carting off about 400 people. All except 2 I think, never to be heard from again
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa "Irish who go there now do not form such gangs and haven't since those days."...are you absolutley sure? What are you basing this on? A little misguided I would say. My brother in law is ex DEA, right up there with the blacks and colombians you have the Italians and Irish. You could also look at the corruption in our government over the years...or is that not crime for you? It's what's contributing to the state of affairs at the moment in Ireland
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
The Irish gangs in America, are not from Ireland, they are Irish-Americans. I know because I am Irish, and it is known this is the nature of Irish emigration to America, maybe their future generations may get involved in it, but that is not how Irish are, in America, any Irishman knows this.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
Once again, corruption in our government is crime done by IRISH ppl, these ppl are born and bred here, every country has its bad apples. How is that an excuse for allowing immigration.
We have to deal with our own criminals, and have the money to improve our own ppl, not deal with more criminals from abroad and then spend more money on immigrants and all the costs that immigration invloves.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
In a nation of 4 million it will only take a small number of immigrants and a small amount of time before the whole country looks like London. And certain parts east london has hardly any whites if any at all, living there. If you think that is great and part of being open minded then you are a bigot and deluded and in fact a racist against whites.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa The mafia problem in Italy is far more serious than any immigration problem, but I understand that Italy is also a case apart. If you look at Ireland you don't really have to go to far into the past, Colin Meehan, the General, the Monk et al are all white and Irish born. A scumbag's a scumbag and it doesn't come from race.
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
every indigenous society will have their own criminals, that is no excuse for immigration and the relinquishing of sovereign territory, which eventually street by street become owned by arabs, Africans etc. In Belguim, Africans have even renamed streets to African names.
And you still live in dreamland thinking none of this exists. I think you do not live in reality, but you will when muslims are dictating where you can and cannot go, or when African gangs rape your gf and kill you
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
We never had the same kind of crime or type of violence in the 80's that we have there today, and that is down to the dumbing down and xboxing of society. Increase in violence and sexual okaying leads to increase perception that it is ok. And increase in that behaviour.
There is a reason the advertising industry exists, they acknowledge the power of images.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
There is no need for any non europeans to come to europe, in fact by doing so, you delay real helping of their countries and you also sink the lifeboat from which that aid comes.
That is exactly what your naive tree-hugging nonsense will end up with, no lifeboat that brings the aid, and no aid to africa, coz the lifeboat is sunk.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
You are talking about Italy today. Try lokking at it, in 15yrs time, there will be more exclusively black and arab areas. In certain areas, Italian people have had to patrol their own streets, from immigrant crime.
Problems in the 3rd world are not solved by immigration, they need to be solved IN the 3rd world.
immigration is a tool used by globalists to destroy the final obstacle of national identity to have constant access to mobile cheap world labour - do the research
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa Italy by the way is about 20yrs ahead of where Ireland is now immigration wise. Italian people have a huge crime problem, it comes from the mafia not the immigrants...again, your research is a little off
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
92% of gang rapes in London are done by Blacks.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@waaeaa crime is a problem, it's a part of human nature and is generally a result of poverty and frustration. Of course some of the points you make are valid. You seem to be confused as to what a bigot is but lets not get into that for now. I personally don't care what colour a person is as long as they behave in a rational manner.
jkino78 1 year ago
@waaeaa by the way what are you basing your crime statistics in Italy on? I live here and know for a fact that the most serious criminal and social problems come from the mafia. Do you know what's going on in Naples at the moment? Nothing to do with immigrants but costing millions!
jkino78 1 year ago
@jkino78
Once again you miss the point. Every country has things like crime, it is this exact reason, that every country needs to spend money on making it's own country and it's own people better and have a better quality of life.
Introduce immigration, and now you have to draw resources and money away from your own ppl, ppl who ancestors fought, bled and sweated to cut out a piece of territory so that their descendants could have a better quality of life.
waaeaa 1 year ago
@jkino78
they did not fight or die so that the sons and daughters of foreign ppl, who had nothing to do with gaining that territory and sacrificing for that territory. So money that could be spent on dealing with your own criminals, your own elderly, your own sick ppl now has to go on, dealing with immigration processing, immigration, lawyers, crime, etc, etc, etc.
The ppl who lose out are the descendants of the ancestors who fought and died for their own kind.

How are my generation of people taught of equality and open-mindedness meant to take responsibility for something that we had no say in and happened over 80 years ago? No defending players do not have to get out of the way as long as they 'stand their ground'. Attacking players do not have to avoid. In the above incident O'Driscoll tried to avoid and there is no way you can argue that Armitage stood his ground, he was running towards O'Driscoll. He was not initially in O'Driscolls path so therefore could not stand his ground, Armitage HAD TO STAY OUT of the way, which he didn't.
BoysinBlue2006 2 years ago

BoysinBlue2006 2 years ago
What on earth are you talking about??? O'Driscoll tried to avoid Armitage, he side-stepped at the last minute. Armitage ran into him leading with the shoulder. I know what I'm talking about as I just watched it again. As for signalling the ref(????) he was on the ground receiving medical attention. How he could signal to ref when he couldnt stand up is beyond me.
Thanks for the Support by the way.
BoysinBlue2006 2 years ago
No, O'Driscoll didnt have to run around him, Armitage deliberately got in his way. Illegal. If the was the case then kicking would never be done!
i didn't mention the black and tans, it was the British army who murdered the innocent civilians in Croke Park. The Black and Tans didn't arrive in Ireland until 1919! Pick up a history book.
The IRA killed 14 spies, your Army killed 12 innocent civilians, including one Michael Hogan GAA player from Tipperary who most certainly didn't kill the G-men

i'd just like to point out that crokers capacity is 85,000
surfsup3000 2 years ago
Crokers capacity is actually 82,300.
Twickenham is 82,000
BoysinBlue2006 2 years ago
762SLR762, Armitage should have been sent off. O'Driscoll ran into him because he cut off the shortest route to th ball. That's illegal. Care was sent off cos he tackled marcus horan in a ruck whenhe was standing up with his back turned to Care. It was a disgrace.
The 2 times ye've played in Croke Park ye've made an absolute disgrace of yourselves. Whereas we welcomed ye into a ground where the British army murdered 12 people and wounded 60. So in terms of maturity, Ireland is superior.
Krfcflanker 2 years ago
LOL You take the time out to come on to a Video that really has nothing to do with you and feel the need to explain why England is superior? Sounds like you're the one with the inferiority complex mate.

If you look carefully At 4:54 England tried to do what martin johnson did in 2003 and go to the wrong side of the carpet

Ireland rugby unbeaten by the english at croke park, remember that!

The way i saw it Armitage made sure he would be in his way. I didnt see BOD signal the ref but if he did it was a bit sneaky, that is for spice boy soccer players and i agree it has no place in rugby. If w win the slam today(i hope we do too obviously, cheers for your support by the way) i honestly think that overall we will have deserved it
AbsoluteMenech 2 years ago
Armitage deserved to be sent off in fairness, he clearly prevented what would have been an excellant chance fro O' Driscoll to get a try. The reason two were sent off was because of the shit england got away with earlier in the game, whilst the sending offs may have been harsh when viewed in isolation, when you look at the whole game england got no more then thay deserved. Your disliking of Croke Park seems to me to be irrational and to be honest not worth commenting on any further
AbsoluteMenech 2 years ago
Paying off the ref? Fuck off, if anyone paid the ref it was england. Hows it a dump? is it because it has a higher capacity then 'Fortress' twickenham?
AbsoluteMenech 2 years ago
I was there too, we won if i remember correctly. 'WHAT A FUCKING DUMP' - Your full of shit buddy

Wonder how many more truths and acts f where lost in your British Empire.
"It means football's origins date back 2,300 years to when Linzi was the capital of the ancient Qi kingdom.
FIFA once announced China would be officially recognized as the birthplace of football. "

LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago
You really are slow, read back what you just said. You just stated my point for me!!!!. We have a sport here that very few people can play unless you grow up in it . Any fool can pick up a bat and throw a ball, just proved my point.
So please state one thing that is totally unique to your country!!!, that cant be found anywhere else.
LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago
no its proves that your culture is already dead, and the GAA keeps ours alive here.
Bye bye now
LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago

Corrib line!!!, oil wells off the Donegal coast, country is full of it.
Uk self sufficient in oil after that statement you clearly havent a fucking clue what your are talking about, its about 70%.
Lol i work for a Major international company we fix only our own products so try again.
You keep coming up with inferiority , seriously is that the best you can do!!!. I'm Munster man and i'm laughing at you,laughing!!
LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
One we gave up more than we got, we lost our fishing industry, there is more oil in this country then in the UK.

1) Nazis are still around and in the UK, as the English soccer team visit to dublin in 1995 showed.
2) I dont live In NORTHERN IRELAND
3) Britain saved us from nobody, last time i checked, Russians and Yanks saved urs.
So get the head out of your arse with your pittyfull country.
4) I know an awfull lot more than your clearly do.
.5)The world hates you!!!
6.) We feed your country!!!, The uk supplies only enough food stuffs to feed 25%, we supply another 25%.
7.)inferiority haha funny stuff.
LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago
Sounds like a Nazi talking, well 1 the English Empire did 10 times worse than nazi Germany all over the world .Tans where nearly all Eglish not scottish, thanks god they dont teach fiction is Irish schools.
And it was never ever part of the UK we never submitted once, 700 years we fought time and again.
IRA shot 14 international war criminals nothing more, when a tyrant makes up the rules, you tear up the rule book.
Also everyone of the G- men shot where all armed.
LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago
Troops that rolled into Croke Park where given 3 times the pay of a regular British troop and any bounty he got.
The fav trick was shooting the Mother and child with one shot.
They are Called black and Tans, the British Empires SS troops and murders
LimerickWarrior1 2 years ago 2
thats seriously scary logic, they had no right to be there in the first place.

yeah, ira kill soldiers during an ongoing conflict, english retaliate by killing innocent civilians at a gaa match, sounds fair

As I've said, they wouldn't have stood....continued

a chance in a conventional fight.
As for what to do when your enemy appears..continued
kieranbass 2 years ago
as civilians, I'd imagine counter intelligence would be the the first priority, gain info on members of the enemy and weed them out. The Auxies had a lot of success with this method and captured many IRA members alive. Again I can't imagine anyone would advocate killing civilians in the hope one or some were members of the IRA!
Anyway I originally came to watch a few rugby videos and ended up debating about the IRA! Ain't D'Internet wonderful?
kieranbass 2 years ago
You're right, it wasn't a war in the traditional sense. As I said the IRA would have been destroyed if they tried to attack the British Army in a conventional fight. Hence the term Guerilla warfare.
Also the IRA (of that era) were solely attacking military personnel and their informants, they didn't murder randomly like the British forces did in Croke Park. How were the British troops bound to any code that day when IRA targets had been military personnel and their informants?
kieranbass 2 years ago

1983honey 2 years ago
If the truth be known, I dont think its a case of the English feeling superior to the Irish, but the Irish feeling inferior to the English. And for the life of me, I never understood that. When the fiasco of the Italian presidency of the European Union was coming to an end, it was English newspapers, with a huge sigh of relief that said Europe was now in a safe pair of hands (referring to the Irish) Maybe our biggest battle is yet to be won, that of our own inferiority complex.

Rule 42 is SHITE!! In the 90's Chicago Bears and Pitsburgh steelers played there and so did a collage american football match
cotterman2 2 years ago
You are absolutely right. I think rule 42 was and is a sham. Imagine the outrage today if an Irish sport was banned from a field in England or the FAA decided that Irish players were not longer allowed play in the English league. We Irish are sometimes long on memory and short on sense, we want everything, but were not inclined to give anything. We criticize the English but expect them to defend us in a time of need.
celticlofts 2 years ago
It's not realy the irish it's the GAA loads of people are leaving the GAA to play other sports that they will get paid to play.
