I guess now the ice is melt and we can go ahead :-D
Ok, here is the question concerned to your video.
As I searched for "black wrap", for my understanding this means that I at least have an idea what it is about. I just miss some samples, before and after. And most of the people uploading a video here are not really interessted to share knowledges. They just want to mirror themselves.
That was maybe my fault, that I put you into the same category.
Tell ya what, this week I will shoot a few images, some with a standard flash/softbox, and others using the foil to "shape the light" and will post them on the blog.
You've got to be kidding me, really, I presented it like it was my own? Did you even watch the video?
The video was to show you the product NOT to show you my work while using it. If I have to show you the visible representation of barn doors because you don't understand the concept, then you are at the wrong place.
You can either accept what I am offering (for free by the way), or don't.
But please don't leave your pile of negativity here.
Most people use clothes pins (aka C47's) to clip the foil onto their fixtures. I've also seen people use document Binder Clips that you can get from office supply stores.
it's really ugly looking. :/
looks like a good product though.

I finally posted “before & after” sample images with the foil, so if you check out today’s post (dated 6/23/11) you can see them.
Thanks.

Sorry if you feel my comment to be negative.
It was ment like: Hey dude, I wish you would show us where the difference is.
Not more, not less.
Ok, I will delete my previous port.
Take care

It doesn’t matter what you said or your intention I should have been more polite and respectful.
You are owed an apology, so… I am sorry.
And as a lesson in humility (for me) I am going to leave my crappy post as reminder that I can do better.

There are a couple options.
1. It’s a heavy duty aluminum so you can actually bend and pinch it around the edge of the light
2. Do as above but use a small clip (like a clothespin) to hold it in place
I have done both (depending on the light) and it has worked for me.
Hope that helps.

If I did make barndoors from this, how in the world would I attach it to the light? Any ideas?

can you make makeshift barndoors from this?
sonne5 1 year ago
Sure can, (barn doors, snoot, etc.) because its heavy duty aluminum it will hold pretty much any shape you can mold it into.
Its heavy duty nature will allow it to hold a little weight as well.
