Clay is awesome all by himself & when he's singing duets. It seems that he's trying to find the key to compliment Kelly's voice as he's always the gentleman & doesn't have to take center stage but will make a song work regardless of the sacrifice. Not that Kelly is bad, I just don't think their voices mesh well for this song.

Man, Kelly was great on Idol & on record, but live she's very iffy. I've seen her 3 times & can't say that any of those shows blew me away. On the other hand, Clay live is phenomenal. When he's on (& this was recorded when he barely had a voice in the middle of winter after the flu), there is NO ONE better. Perfect pitch, strong, powerful, clear, perfection. Wow.

2 truly incredible voices!! Even live, they are awesome, and not all artists are. You can tell Clay is having some throat probs here but he is still great, i don't care what his tabloid probs are, he is such a great talent. This make you remember what American Idol is all about. The show just isn't that good anymore.

I do a lot of karaoke singing and sometimes I am up to this song, and sometimes I am not... but I have the choice... he has to do it either way. Then again, they should have done it in a lower key to accomidate the "star" of the show.

i think this was near the beg of this tour (I THINK!) and I do agree, it wasnt until near the end of the tour that they actually had this song down. I think the problem is that they both have such power house voices that they kind of don't know where to go with each other. But they work it out. Nice performance! =)

I thought they sang beautifully!! Though I do have to be a little nitpicky on some parts because since they both are such amazing singers and BY FAR THE BEST SINGERS on AI, I think somewhere in the middle, like in the second verse there was a bit of a fall-out key, like Clay's voice sorta cracked and Kelly was struggling a bit. But all in all, they have both different voices. I think it has something to do with their creative style, Clay does it differently from Kelly, vise versa.

I'm sorry - I'm a huge Kelly fan. Loved her on American Idol, voted for her, thought she should win. She records well, but when it comes to concerts...her voice does NOT hold up. It's the weirdest thing. I've seen several concert spots because of having AOL on demand on my TV...her voice doesn't hold up, I'm guessing under the stress of singing that much. Perhaps that will imrpove with time.

I actually can't decide which one I'm a bigger fan of 'cuz everytime I hear Kelly, I say Kelly's better and then I hear Clay, I say Clay is better. And judging from this performance, it all seems fair, they're equally talented. Clay WON American Idol too, ya know? Where's Ruben if he was the one who won? Kelly has a different style, the way she sings has more of an RnB flave to it and Clay has more classy broadway pop, and I think they really blended together.

The reason it drags Onajurny is because Kelly can only sing certain songs. Her range is limited. She can't hit the difficult notes. Clay has recorded this song solo and sounds brilliant on it.

Who has the better voice is a matter of opinion. As a fan of both and seeing both in concert several times, I believe Clay to have the better voice. I actually was at this concert on the video and enjoyed the performance. All I'm saying is I was disappointed in Kelly's inability to sing a ballad. She's very good at singing her songs but when she steps out of her comfort zone, not so much.

I will agree with Plebit. I've seen both in concert several times, and I do like both. But Kelly has the better voice. Not only by my opinion, but also by the fact the she WON american idol, two grammies, countless other awards by MTV, VH1, etc., sold over 15 million records with both CDs, and had five number one hits from her CD breakaway, with a third CD on the way.

This is an inferior effort by Kelly and Clay.

They sing this song 1 minute slower than Perry did back in 1981. This means they needed to GATHER their voices to hit the difficult notes/timing! It really really drags and good thing they weren't on stage with Perry back in 1981 Houston...he would have sang them off it.
