Ok, since you're in Canada, you're in luck. You can find the DSS at NCIX or Video Games Plus. The adapter cable can be found just about anywhere. Check Radio Shack. Ask for a "dual RCA female to 3.5mm male" cable or adapter.

The DSS will work with your P21. The only extra accessory you will need is a female dual RCA to single 3.5mm male adapter. We have this available on our website under the P21 "Accessories" page". You can also find it at Radio Shack.
As for the DSS, there are very few stores that carry it by itself. You can find it numerous places online. Where do you live btw? I'll see if we can locate a store that has DSS processors in your area.
They're very similar headsets. The biggest change that we made on the PX21 is that it is XBOX-compatible. Since this wouldn't apply in your case, I would recommend sticking with your P21 and adding a DSS instead. The DSS + P21 is pretty similar to our DPX21 headset bundle that we recently released. (Check out our Youtube vid for the DPX21). Basically, the DSS will give you Dolby 5.1/7.1 surround sound in your P21. Now that's an upgrade!

The P21 was discontinued several months ago. No stores have them in stock--only the PX21 is available now. Just because a store hasn't updated their website with new pictures does not mean they don't have PX21's. The PX21 is all that's available now.

Turtle Beach have f'd up COMPLETELY with releasing the PX21's in the UK. Date = 1st of April. Then the 16th. Now the 14th of May. Just gonna get a pair of these.
Our UK vendors basically sold ALL PX21's within a few days. You must must have just missed the opportunity to pre-order this headset, that's all. The second shipment is coming in soon. When you see the pre-order option available to get the PX21, I'd advise grabbing one so you don't miss out again.
If you can find the P21, then that's obviously a good option if you don't play XBOX.
i have my ps3 hooked up to my PC monitor via HDMI...im not using ANY red/white/yellow cable as i dont need them for audio or video....can i still use these headphones with my ps3 on the same monitor?
Yes, you just have to use that cable which you stated you aren't using. The HDMI will send video to your monitor and the red/white RCA plugs will send audio to the headset. In the PS3 Sound Settings, activate "Audio Multi Output". Very easy.
You could get the Ear Force X41 instead since that's wireless. If you need a mic, then you'll have to get the adapter that we're releasing in the next couple of weeks. This is a wire though, but at least you won't need it 100% of the time.
They only have P21's now. They will have PX21's when those are in stock. The store will also want to sell out of their P21 inventory first. If you don't play XBOX, then the P21 is fine for your case.

The A40 and AX 720 have Dolby surround sound. This is a stereo headset. The AX720 costs almost twice as much as the P21 and the Astro is about 4 times the cost. So you're not comparing apples to apples, as they say.
AX360 is also a Dolby HP that costs abnout 3 times as much as the P21. The AX180 is about the same cost and the P21 has a lot more features, like chat boost and bass boost. Also, the P21 has been replaced by the PX21 which is even better. Check out our web site for details.
This is a stereo headset for the PS3. You can use the X31 or X41 wireless headsets on the PS3 but the PSN chat doesn't work. You can hear the game sound wirelessly.
The P21 is different from the HPA2. It is a stereo headset with one speaker in each ear. The HPA2 is 5.1 with 4 speakers in each ear. Also, the HPA2 only works on PC, it doesn't work on PS3.

The old PS3 firmware will mute the other audio outputs, but if you upgrade to the latest PS3 firmware it will not mute them so you can use HDMI and analog simultaneously.
Yes, you can use HDMI. Watch the other P21 video that shows how to connect the RCA jacks to your PS3. The HDMI connection is separate from the P21 connections.

They're built out of high impact plastic that's light on purpose so it won't sit heavy on your head. That doesn't make them cheap, it makes them built solid and comfortable.
For instructions on how to connect it to the PS3 with HDMI, download the user guide from the P21 home page on our web site. It shows how to connect the P21 to the PS3 RCA jacks and the HDMI to your HD TV.

Connect HDMI to your TV for video. Connect the red/white RCA jacks to the PS3 red/white for stereo audio on the headset. The TV sound will come from the HDMI connection, so you don't have to connect the RCA jacks to your TV with HDMI. The instructions on how to do this are in the P21 manual that's included in the package.
You don't need to connect it to the TV. That's optional. The headset connects to the PS3 with the RCA red/white jacks. If you do that, you'll hear the game on the headset even if the TV is not connected.
and respond with more than just a, "uhhhh, what???" and i no longer have to worry about trying to figure out wat to do so i react faster!!! i also like not having to worry about my mic falling or dieing beacause its a headset and USB. i also like that i can use them to listen to music on my PS3

Turtle Beach have f'd up COMPLETELY with releasing the PX21's in the UK. Date = 1st of April. Then the 16th. Now the 14th of May. Just gonna get a pair of these.

Our UK vendors basically sold ALL PX21's within a few days. You must must have just missed the opportunity to pre-order this headset, that's all. The second shipment is coming in soon. When you see the pre-order option available to get the PX21, I'd advise grabbing one so you don't miss out again.
If you can find the P21, then that's obviously a good option if you don't play XBOX.

Completely disconnect the PS3 A/V cable and plug it back in. Also be sure that your P21 piggyback jacks are properly connected.
You can also test the headset by plugging it into a PC/laptop or Mac. Just use the USB for audio and listen to some music for a while.

i have my ps3 hooked up to my PC monitor via HDMI...im not using ANY red/white/yellow cable as i dont need them for audio or video....can i still use these headphones with my ps3 on the same monitor?

Yes, you just have to use that cable which you stated you aren't using. The HDMI will send video to your monitor and the red/white RCA plugs will send audio to the headset. In the PS3 Sound Settings, activate "Audio Multi Output". Very easy.

No, this is not a surround sound headset. If you want surround sound, then check out the wireless X41.

You could get the Ear Force X41 instead since that's wireless. If you need a mic, then you'll have to get the adapter that we're releasing in the next couple of weeks. This is a wire though, but at least you won't need it 100% of the time.

Yes, the RCA jack connections are separate from the HDMI HD video connection. So you can use them both at the same time.

They only have P21's now. They will have PX21's when those are in stock. The store will also want to sell out of their P21 inventory first. If you don't play XBOX, then the P21 is fine for your case.

The A40 and AX 720 have Dolby surround sound. This is a stereo headset. The AX720 costs almost twice as much as the P21 and the Astro is about 4 times the cost. So you're not comparing apples to apples, as they say.

AX360 is also a Dolby HP that costs abnout 3 times as much as the P21. The AX180 is about the same cost and the P21 has a lot more features, like chat boost and bass boost. Also, the P21 has been replaced by the PX21 which is even better. Check out our web site for details.

This is a stereo headset for the PS3. You can use the X31 or X41 wireless headsets on the PS3 but the PSN chat doesn't work. You can hear the game sound wirelessly.

The P21 is different from the HPA2. It is a stereo headset with one speaker in each ear. The HPA2 is 5.1 with 4 speakers in each ear. Also, the HPA2 only works on PC, it doesn't work on PS3.

No, the yellow cable is composite video. If you're using HDMI, the video comes from the HDMI cable.

Great Review, Buying my Turtle Beach P21 Headset was money well spent,..sound quality is amazing and being able to listen to the game and chat online with both ears gives you a edge that people using a regular usb or blue tooth headset wont have. Its a must have for serious gamers and people who like to play late night, you get all the sound and everyone in your household will still be able to get all their sleep. A win win situation. :)

I'm actually thinking of buying a pair simply because I play multiplayer games online at night and don't want to disturb my little sister with the TV being too loud. Being able to mute the TV and be able to listen to the chat and sounds? Awesome.

when you plug it in via RCA does the ps3 mute all the other audio outputs? because i've already got audio from tv via hdmi, and surround sound from optical simultaneously. thanks.

The old PS3 firmware will mute the other audio outputs, but if you upgrade to the latest PS3 firmware it will not mute them so you can use HDMI and analog simultaneously.

Yes, you can use HDMI. Watch the other P21 video that shows how to connect the RCA jacks to your PS3. The HDMI connection is separate from the P21 connections.

They're built out of high impact plastic that's light on purpose so it won't sit heavy on your head. That doesn't make them cheap, it makes them built solid and comfortable.
For instructions on how to connect it to the PS3 with HDMI, download the user guide from the P21 home page on our web site. It shows how to connect the P21 to the PS3 RCA jacks and the HDMI to your HD TV.

Connect HDMI to your TV for video. Connect the red/white RCA jacks to the PS3 red/white for stereo audio on the headset. The TV sound will come from the HDMI connection, so you don't have to connect the RCA jacks to your TV with HDMI. The instructions on how to do this are in the P21 manual that's included in the package.

You don't need to connect it to the TV. That's optional. The headset connects to the PS3 with the RCA red/white jacks. If you do that, you'll hear the game on the headset even if the TV is not connected.

and respond with more than just a, "uhhhh, what???" and i no longer have to worry about trying to figure out wat to do so i react faster!!! i also like not having to worry about my mic falling or dieing beacause its a headset and USB. i also like that i can use them to listen to music on my PS3

i just got a pair. best thing i ever paid for. ($86, store was closing so idk wat normal msrp is) these things are awsome. they are lighter than i expected, yet they pack a punch only possible by a 40ton tank. theres nothing better than to actually be able to hear my friends. i used to use a cheap $20 blu tooth, that thing sucked!!! but now i can hear wat ppl say...
